Guest
BYOND Key: XanderDox Character Names:Carter Mason - Head of Security - Human Niklaus Mason-Nox - Head of Personnel/Captain - Human Alastair Icarus - Captain - Human Clara Williams - Research Director - Human Istanbul Embaria - Station Engineer - Human Ashlynne Moriarty - Internal Affairs Agent - Human Vivian - Multiple Jobs - IPC How long have you been playing on Aurora:Uhm, I'd like to say three months now? Species you are applying to play:Skrell Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yuppers! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I'd like to play Skrell, because I see it as a major difference from playing a human. Skrell seem emotionally detached, when really they feel emotions on the same level as humans, its just hard for other species to pick up on them, and they slur words do to their lack of an articulate tongue. I'm also fascinated by their lore, they have above ground cities, built in swamps and bogs, but they also have fabulous underwater cities, which is kinda bad ass. Basically, I want to get a change of RP from IPC and Human, who are similar in speech and some behaviours, whereas Skrell are different. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Skrell often slur wordsh becaush they don't have the best of tongues (who needs one when you have such a beaut brain eh?) . They are also 'emotionally detached' as most of their emotion is shown in tones humans can't hear/understand. They also can't eat meat do to their digestive system not being evolved to eat it, which could create some nice, "Opps I eatsh meatsh by accidentsch shomone comesh helpsh messsh (over exaggerated sching) " Although I'm not sure if there are actually mechanics in that affect Skrell who eat meat. They are also very intelligence driven, most of their actions done to better their own knowledge of things, They are also not quick to fight, due to them taking pride in their history and physiology, so insults such as 'salamander' just bounce off them, and could even be seen as a compliment. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? I don't know if I already made this clear in the last two questions, but basically its their difference on a mental level than humans that interests me. They are also the oldest race in the universe which means they have a vast history, and knowledge about the known worlds and races, which can support some great RP occurrences. And this is going to sound really shallow, but I really like how they look with body colours such as pink, cyan and turquoise Character Name:Jey'Lesh Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Jey'Lesh hatched from his egg on Qerrbalak inside one of the planet's many Underwater Cities. He was one of 34 eggs laid, (13 eggs had defects and never hatched). In his early tadpole stages, he was kept in the Public Tadpole Tank (PTT) to be nurtured while his parents worked at a NanoTrasen facility in Tau Ceti. When he came of age to leave the PTT, he was given to his Aunt, as his parents had taken permanent residence in Tau Ceti, to be closer to their jobs. When he was 16 years old, he got news that his parents had died in a terrible work accident, caused by a clumsy chemist, resulting in the facility's detonation, since then, he has harboured a dislike and distrust of Chemistry workers. As he grew up in an Underwater City, humans and other species were very uncommon, he never met a human until he turned 18, where he had an initial interview with a NanoTrasen Recruiter. The result of the meeting was an offer, get your PhD in a Science field from a University, and we'll hire you. When he was 20, he was accepted into Skrellian Academy for the Scientific Arts, he majored in Anomaly, while also studying Xenoarchaeology and Xenobiology. When he turned 29, he received a philosophical doctorate in Anomalous Material Study, after having received his Masters and Bachelors degrees a few years before. After school, he took a shuttle to Tau Ceti, and landed on Biesel, there, he applied to NanoTrasen Command Academy, he studied there for three years, racking up enough training to qualify as a Head of Staff if applied for. At 32 years old, he applied to work aboard the NSS Exodus. He was accepted to work as an Anomalist, however, due to an error in shuttle auto-piloting, he was taken to the NSS Aurora, he quickly fell in love with the station's advanced research equipment, and on the next transfer, he requested to be permanently transferred to the NSS Aurora for work. The request was accepted and he works there to this day, in multiple fields of science, ranging from Anomaly, to Xenobiology, to Research Director on very rare occasions. What do you like about this character? I like that this character has had some loss in his life, and the aftermath of losing his parents resulted in him having a great distrust of Chemistry Workers, specifically Unathi Chemists, as he later found out that it was because of one of them, and their claws, that a beaker was spilled resulting in a localised explosion within a NT Facility, which ended up blowing his parents to smithereens. I also like that he spent so much time in school, his main focus in life being education and research, which he commonly chooses over social activities and events. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd rate it at a 7/10, I think I can roleplay well, I definitely have some quirks (doesn't everyone?) which can impede my roleplaying, but I think I get the job done at an appropriate level. Notes: Thanks for reading this you lovely little thing you, if you honestly think I deserve this, please +1. If you dont, then please, please please PLEASE, offer constructive, (keyword, constructive) criticism. And don't forget, +1's with no reason behind them are ignored, don't +1 me for the hell of it babes~~~~ Link to comment

Guest Marlon Phoenix
+1, you are a good roleplayer and more aliens on the station would always be fun. I like the application as well, just... Don't spell out his accent phonetically. Link to comment

Guest
+1 You're a pleasure to RP with, you made a fully developed but not over developed character and this station doesn't have enough aliens. Link to comment
