Character Name: Nicole Blackwater

Item Name: Charred Tribunal Codex

(if you are applying for multiple items, it should be made into a list with the description, name and appearance together):

Item Function(s): its a religious item

Item Description: A tribunal codex used for Religious purposes, this Book seems to have been burned in a fire, most of it has survived and continues to serve as a reminder of what war can do.

Why is your character bringing this item to work?: its a religious item the holds the texts of her religion aswell as sentimental value to her character

How did your character obtain this item?: nicole received the book from her father, who was a tribunal (originated from the empire), when he died she kept ahold of it and never left home without it, when the solarian collapse happened nicole was serving within the solarian marines, she was deployed on san colette where she sustained injuries due to her mech blowing up, when the mech blew up nicole lost her leg and lost her hands due to burns, when that explosion happened the book was charred along with her uniform, this is all that remains of the book, that she still holds dear to her

What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: it reminds her of her father and the religion they both practice she continues to hold onto it for sentimental value

Additional Comments: 2 files there, take your pick on which one you use, is it possible to add the text like on a normal book, when you press Z, because if so id like to make it be able to do that but have some words burned out

Refreshed myself on Dominia lore again.

For the item itself, I'm kind of viewing it as a bit of a contrived way to have the book. You've always had them keep it. They happened to be at the battle of San Collete and the book got damaged, but that's not really so significant here? You should think of how their Solarian heritage might factor into this beyond just serving in the marines and burning their prized possession. Is the book even orthodox? Maybe her father had drastically different views and wrote that within, due to their time in Solarian space. Essentially, their background ought to matter more to convince me this wouldn't be a Dominian who is ostensibly Solarian for vague reasons. This is even more important here, because it makes little sense to be a Tribunalist who isn't a Dominian citizen already. At best, you're representing an extremely niche Solarian.

Now unfortunately, circumventing the mechanical inability to get the book if you're not Dominian is not in our interest at the moment. My suggestion to you if you're really intent on this as a concept is to ask human lore about it on the lore discord (not the lore master, who is trigonex). My personal suggestion is that you just say the codex is in their dorm if you're really set on this.

With that in mind this is denied and that's going to be the case for other items you may try to apply with on this character unless it's not a codex and the reasoning is solid enough. Give that a few weeks to think about, if you want to do that.
