YamiNoir
BYOND Ckey: YamiNoir Discord username: Yaminoir (yami2001) Character names: Lisa Mavis (Bridge Crew), Maria Brooks (Janitor), Draven Brown (Hangar Technician) Species you are applying to play: Tajara ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?: Cinnamon (RGB 160, 82, 45 / Hex #a0522d) Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Sure have Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: I’m going to start off with what drawn me to playing Tajara, which is that it is a feline species. Afterwards I started reading the lore and history of this species, which kept my interest even more. The way this species behaves and interacts in many ways with humans seems interesting to me to play with. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: Even though Tajara history has a lot to do with humans, the problems and developments they have faced differ immensely. Their history is filled with conflict between other species and between different ethnicities with Tajaran themselves, with results in many different lifestyles compared to that of humans, which in result shapes completely different types of people. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Yevgeniya Mikhaylova Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. (2 paragraphs minimum). Yevgeniya, a Njarir’Akhran Tajaran, was born in 2431, in what is now known as the New Kingdom of Adhomai in one of the noble families. During her birth the first uprising had just come to an end, but her family was unscathed as they were given protection alongside other nobles. Born during this period and in this family, she was fed their morals and hate, their hate towards other species invading their planet, but most of all the hate towards everything that stood against monarchism. She learned the only way could prosper was to keep to the old Tajaran traditions and not stray away from the castes, especially as being a noble. At a young age she quickly grew to love science, anything that had to do with it she got her hands on, and her family was happy to oblige, being proud of the interests she had taken that were welcomed in the traditional views of Tajaran nobles. She particularly began to develop an interest in xenobiology, although her views were to keep alien species away from Adhomai, she was curious about them anyways, how their anatomy works, their way of living, anything new and strange hooked its existence into her mind, and she could not let it go. So much that she persisted in studying at the Shungsta University of Agrarian Sciences, which to her family’s disdain and disapproval, was placed in the Democratic People’s Republic. But her family always let her have her way, so with this as well. During her studies Yevgeniya unavoidable got into contact with the people from the Republic and their ways of living, which absolutely disgusted her. She only socialized with them if absolutely necessary, luckily for her she never needed much academic help and was completely fine on her own. Her classmates, however, would not let this slide. They confronted her whenever they saw fit, and eventually wore her down. She got into more and more discussion with them, which made her doubt her upbringing, seeing their world from the eyes of others, she is a scientist at heart so of course she couldn’t just ignore other perspectives. Socially she became closer to her classmates and began to understand then, so much she even began to develop feelings for another. Despite her trying her best to keep her school life and private life completely separate, eventually she slipped up and her parents were outraged. This developed in her getting disowned, being kicked out of her house with nothing to her name. To her surprise, the friends she had made at the academy helped her and gave her a place to live, making it so she could finish her studies on her own with her new family. After finishing her studies, she started working at the academy for several years, helping them build up the academy after the second civil war. When she had done her part, she wanted to do more, see more. This led to her applying for a place at NanoTrasen, whomst then placed her at the SCCV Horizon as a xenobiologist. During these years her views on other Tajara species also changed. At first, like the rest of her family, she never cared much for anyonre besides other Njarir’Akhran, but like how her views and morals changed on the whole of Adhomai during her studies, so did her opinion on the other races, she grew to understand and like them, as well as growing interest in other alien species, but she is not sure yet what to think of them. How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. (1 paragraph minimum). Yevgeniya was born during the end of the first uprising, this led to her family teaching her their morals, these were that Tajara could only thrive with the traditional ways and hating the Hadii republican government. When the nation was officially named the New Kingdom of Adhomai, her family was safe with the other nobles, which led to a very comfortable upbringing. Her and her family were, amongst a grand population of Adhomai, witness to the assassination of Haddii, and her family and most of the New Kingdom of Adhomai were overjoyed; they never agreed with the Hadii rules and decrees. However, their brother quickly took over the role of his deceased brother and brought back rules which once against went against the way New Kingdom citizens disagreed. During the second revolution her views and morals had changed due to her studying in the Republic, how she acted and whom she supported was the opposite of her family. At the end of the civil war in 2461 she was working at the academy she had studies had, they had suffered great losses, she helped them recover from these greatly. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? (1 paragraph minimum). Yevgeniya is working at NanoTrasen pure out of convenience. Her previous title and name helped her get a place there quickly. She does not feel positive towards them but doesn’t hate them as well. Like most Tajaran she blames NanoTrasen partly for the unfortunate events that had befallen her kind, despite this they were her best choice to get a good job. Nagito Komaeda
I know Yami as a solid roleplayer, and she has shown eagerness to learn the game and its lore. The application itself particularly highlights the different opinion the various Tajaran heritages have of each other, and Yami does well in explaining how such societal views can be worn down and the consequences of not subscribing to the norm (in this case, denying the NKA opinion of the DPRA, resulting in being disowned). Knowing that Yami is motivated to play Tajara, this application definitely sees a +1 from me! Edited May 27 by Nagito Komaeda Tajara lore is difficult 1 Link to comment
Alberyk
Some small questions so I can clear up some details in the backstory: -What citizenship Yevgeniya Mikhaylova has? Taking into consideration that Tajara were allowed to change to one of the three factions following the end of the second revolution. -What she thinks of the People's Republic of Adhomai and the Democratic People's Republic of Adhomai now? -Does she follow any religion? YamiNoir
-She changed her citizenship from the New Kingdom of Adhomai to the People's Republic of Adhomai. -She's really positive towards PRA, as they've let her see the world from a different perspective and the friends she made in the PRA during her studied, helped her survive adter her parents had disowned her. The DPRA she looks at more negative as she doesn't agree with most of their nationalistic morals. -She used to be a follower of Ma'ta'ke, but she became more atheistic in the course of her studies, believing the religions were made up in the days of old to control the serf.
