One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: Tajara has themes that interact with the greater spur in a very fun way, that being its very culturally divided nature. I had put off playing them due to aesthetic reasons, but the passion built into the lore is something I can no longer ignore. I've had the idea of playing a Sun priest for some time, and with anabasis coming up I think it would be good to try out one of the adhomai nations. I also like Skyrim, so I think the khajiit mannerisms will not be that hard to replicate. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: Beyond the obvious third person speaking, it is their various social considerations that truly make them alien. Unlike the Skrell or Unathi, which come with special attributes to differentiate them beyond the social sphere, tajaran have very familiar features superficially that come with incredible alien twists. While most humans are international, or staunchly self-deterministic, the opposite can be said for the tajara. The relatively anarchic social divisions mirror the humans of old, often seen as backward thinking, which often leads to the negative views of the present. Furthermore there is great turmoil, and a broody cold war in the backdrop. All while the various factions aboard are trying to influence how things will play out. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Kir Sanarmir Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. Kir Sanarmir, is a young Clergymen of the Parivara, particularly a Sun priest. Born in 2444, in Mendell City, Kir got to see the unique and somewhat brutal formation of the sixth district. His family came from the people's republic, hopeful migrants looking to make something in territory far more spectacular than the Nas’kin coast. By the time Kir was born, he was pretty much third generation. His father owned a small business of air conditioners, something that was in-demand given the climate of biesel. Unfortunately, by the time Kir was able to experience much of anything, the chaotic 50’s rolled around; the death of a golden era. Al'mari Hadii’s assassination made waves, right around the time he had learnt about all his great achievements. The upheaval only got worse, blocks started to divide themselves on whether they supported Nated or hated him. Soon the hadiists would come under fire from the royal revivalists and the militant “republicans”. Kir would have paranoia looming over him for the remainder of his younger years. While many others grew to be resentful, or violent, Kir kept to himself and tried to not tread outside of his home. This brought him to take on a more introverted lifestyle, one that would have him seek the art of theology and mysticism. The Sanarmir home didn’t have an internet barring the basics for business, so Kir often spent his time reading if he was not away. These books were often loaned or given to him by his uncle, an associate to the local church who often helped around. The Uncle, Halmirdynh Kahr, would be quite instrumental in Kir’s eventual ascension into priesthood. The intention became clear around the age of 12, around mid aysaif. Kir was, at the time, aimless with his pursuits. He had no care for upper-echelon work, and no passion or interest for mundane labor. He had grown somewhat fanatical and was involved in his local church enough to gain the privilege to talk with most of the staff. He would often speak with acolytes and priests on his trips around the district, somewhat spitefully due to the negative view some of his friends had on the religious dualistic faith. However, with some encouragement, he would join the sons of dawn only a year later. The entry was easy for him to complete, rather, it was the work ahead of him that was an issue. The church was in theory supposed to be a mediator, but without S'rendarr’s Closest, it was often the local laity making the administrative decisions. Complex systems that often broke the rule of mediation, for the sake of bouts of peace, was commonplace at the talking table. The biases for the PRA, hadiist loyalism, and visionary accelerationism were unsurprisingly commonplace even in the inner halls. The duties were against what Kir had suspected, tutoring and the insular seclusion was not as important, rather Kir found himself doing more outside services than inside. He slowly started to recognize gang-affiliates from the committee ones, the strange and destitute, and the unsavory elements of the Hadii corner. He would stray outside the PRA block even before the armistice, often going from chapel to chapel as cover. It was often discouraged, given the infamous Skinner was still active at the time. Regardless of that fact, his chance to speak with other laity barring the sisters, often invigorated him to push further. Around a year after the armistice, he would be elevated to the full priesthood. Years of toiling, working, hiding and anxiety paid off with even more toil and anxiety. He now led other acolytes, held sermons on his own, and had to keep charge of his block with some assistance. Even with his theological wit and long training, he was terrible at it. Kir was not really good with finance, and struggled with some ministry. He was particularly uncomfortable blessing the SHC “enforcers” and other criminals. He was naive of the complex systems that keep the D6 aloft, believing that the church had very little involvement in the matter whatsoever. He would however excel as a preacher, and would slowly shift into working in hospitals, service stations, or port authorities. He would switch between working as a chaplain and assisting at a parish for the past few years, slowly leaving behind the fantastical and living in the reality. He would bless and care for criminals, who in-turn would respect his neutrality and not bother him. In 2468, he would be granted permission to not only leave D6 and the surrounding area, but biesel as a whole. The Horizon had called out for available religious ministers for their tajaran workforce, and naturally they first went to those residing in biesel. The senior priests didn’t really leave him much of a choice either, and their encouragement was a sign that he needed to head out anyhow. Unfortunately, the SCC Horizon is not a good first ship, as Kir is going to find out very soon. How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. The Solarian Collapse and 3rd ban are obviously very important events that are incredibly distressing. Kir doesn’t like the TRA, and believes they are partially responsible given the October incidents, however he does respect them for attempting to safeguard tajarans from the military regency. The Cold Dawn was of some interest to Kir for particular esoteric reasons, but it also cemented more of his anti-ALA beliefs. The Peacekeeper mandate is only important in regards to the death of the vice president, and the ascension of Torvald. Kir views both the death of Fahjil Hurk’jurl, and the resignation of Dorn as signs of an instability in the biesel power structure. The phoron scarcity has only made things worse and has helped contribute to Kir’s wish of leaving D6 in fear of the continued deterioration of mendell as a whole. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? They are independent, but they aren’t naive to NT rolling their paycheck. Since Kir Sanarmir is a biesel born PRA citizen, they view the conglomerate in a positive light. Kir is somewhat of a humanphone, and so there is little issue when it comes to working in human space. However, this isn't to say that Kir sees himself as a member of the NanoTrasen Corporation and is far from entertaining that idea.

CatsinHD Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Hi! Thank you for applying. I do have some questions regarding your character. The story itself is pretty strong and compelling. However, for the purposes of the application, if you could please answer the following: What are your character's views on each nation? It is suggested throughout an apprehension to work with the SHC, and later anti-ALA beliefs but these are more snippets of the broader opinion. How did the Second Revolution affect the character? Their family? Some of the ripples can be seen but seems more as set dressing with District 6 as opposed to the character's life. What are Kir's views on the Parivara? How do they approach the nature of the Parivara and their off-world temples? Remember, there are no wrong answers.

I do hint that they are a Hadiist, so naturally they are against the NKA and ALA. Kir credits the ALA, and the royal revisionists, for the brutal outrages in D6 and its disunity. When I say Kir went from cover to cover, I really mean it, he was paranoid of being assaulted or mugged due to his affiliation. In a political sense, he believes Nated and his supporters are inconsistent and selfish; proof due to their initial denouncement of their first elected president during the 2nd revolution. Furthermore, he thinks they are brutish and militant and are basically traitors to the tajaran dream. The NKA is a little less abhorrent to him, however his indoctrination keeps him from forming a real positive view on them. 5 hours ago, CatsinHD said: How did the Second Revolution affect the character? Their family? Some of the ripples can be seen but seems more as set dressing with District 6 as opposed to the character's life. Since the 2nd revolt would go on for the rest of Kir's developing years, the frequent riots and violence sent him into an introverted lifestyle. The 2nd Revolutions influence on D6 is really what caused him to delve into mystic and theological works of literature. It also developed his behavior, disgusted with the violence he grew more supportive of mediation and peaceful resolution. I do forget the family here, it's often a problem I have in these, safe to say that the family business gets broken into once or twice. Kir's father gets more involved with the SHC to protect his business, and thus the whole family is partially more radicalized as a result of the whole thing. If it weren't for it, Kir probably wouldn't become interested in the priesthood or any religious affair for that matter. 5 hours ago, CatsinHD said: What are Kir's views on the Parivara? How do they approach the nature of the Parivara and their off-world temples? By off-world temples I assume you mean off-Adhomai? He has only known the Parivara as a good thing, and their neutral stance to war is what led to him joining in the first place. The bigger picture mindset is something Kir loves, and he is passionate about it. If you're speaking about off-adhomai, he doesn't like that there is not council members outside adhomai, and that it is chalked up to local priests. He thinks it gives people the idea that adhomai natives are inherently superior and more holy. If you mean literally in space? He isn't familiar with the concept, which is the fun of a 'fish out of water' character I am going with here.
