Guest
Basically, give the cultist the ritual dagger on round start, or make it spawnable with the paper, make it a requirement to make runes. To make a rune, a cultist must slit their wrist and draw it in their own blood, but, what are they cutting their wrists with? Probably not sharp paper edges from the Tome. Basically, make what they're doing have explainable, you can not slit your wrists with your finger tips. Link to comment

Cassie
I really disagree with the concept of the cultist carrying anything like a weapon on-board. I think it should be left be, or at least make the cutting a metaphysical thing they can control by the power of Nar-Sie or whatever. Let me make an example: 1. There once was a wizard round that happened on Aurora. The wizard, from a non-metagame perspective is just a stranger with weird clothing who appeared on the ship. At round beginning he was searched, and was found to have his dagger on him, that was enough cause to send him instantly to the brig. Non-compliance of the search would have caused him to go into bad territory early in the round. Since brigging someone for having weapons is legit, it could cause issues. Especially when it's all combined with IC reasons. The difference here is that a wizard can choose to not bring a knife with them. So, a cultist's round can be ruined from one person's actions. It'd make cult rounds more fragile (they are already) because if for whatever reason any cultist gets searched (trust me, people will find a way), they can be insta-arrested even if they have not done anything antag-worthy yet. Guest
But the crew would have no reason to brig and search a cultist unless they were being very open about their cult activities, which would usually have warranted a search anyways considering how violent the cult is lately. Link to comment

Carrying aboard a bloodied piece of paper would raise concerns. Getting caught drawing runes in blood would probably warrant a search and seizure as well as a mandatory psych eval. I would prefer knives and such be an option for the initial 3 use talisman you get at the beginning of the round as a starting cultist, rather than being an auto-spawn. Link to comment

Shadow
Giving cultists a weapon from the very beginnig is bad in my opinion. The other side of the coin is the question how do they get to the blood in which they draw the runes. The problem I would have as a cultist is that, as stated by others, carrying a dagger wouls rise concerns and security would probably search you. Link to comment
