FinalVerdict3 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 BYOND key: Richard_Lennox Character names: Dayton Ironmonger, Sophia Ironmonger. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Approxminitly for 2 years now and 9 months. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I would like to be on the whitelist because I'm confident in making choices, I make a reasonable effort to interact with other crew members so people come to be familiar with me. As for my decision making abilities in action, I jumped down a chute to hide in it while I waited for an intruder to pass and catch them. However, I was promptly shut down by the chute automatically closing on me. On a more serious note, I can make a good judgement call by basing it on the evidance shown to me. There have been times where I needed to secure a prisoner in the Brig and I was able to contain them on my own. My character is of age to be considered for the role and she has the IC experience behind her to give her a good confident and variety-based background. Why did you come to Aurora?: I came to Aurora in my early stages of learning about SS13's existance. I joined and this server had stuck with me because it's unique players and the custom sprites. Aurora is a unique station and I'm proud to be part of playing it. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes. I prefer trial and error, but I have used wiki's for multiple jobs in the past. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is where you assume the role of another person, a new identity, personality, quirks and traits. I believe Roleplay should be about having fun with other players and keeping the experience immersive. Ultimately, it's about meeting new people, playing in historical or current settings, hell, even folklore settings and fictional races too. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The purpose of Head of Staff is to ensure their team are controlled in a sense no one is messing around, such as harmbatoning other crew members, it keeps the stress off of the HoP and Captain who would otherwise be plunged with crew members who are just messing about most of the time. But there are also forms to sign that can only be issued by a HoS usually when I'm online. The Head of Staff is also more orientated to paperwork and making sure every crew member on their team is up to scratch. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: A whitelisted player has the responsibility is to make sure things are where they should be, no one getting access that they shouldn't be, and to ensure there are no grudges in the workplace. But also, to push the crew members to work to the best of their abilities. I would strive to uphold these responsibilities by giving my fellow colleuges criticism where I see fit. I also will have to uphold the responsibility when I'll sign forms and document certain events and such. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Sophia Ironmonger. Character age: 39. Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): When Sophia was a teenager she was helping her father with his small business. He owned a independent garage that fix bikes and Sophia worked there, not for family reasons of seeing the business skyrocket, but because she needed money and she saw this as an open opportunity. While working there her father had made some friends from his past and they would always go and check up on how he and his business were doing, he wasn't just friends with the humans but also had a friend who is Tajaran. All from rebellious and living wreckless walks of life they spoke in Gutter when they were talking about sensitive topics, such as illegality. Sophia came to know about their illegal business and the whole language of Gutter when her dads' friends took an interest in her, ofcourse while she was only roughly 16 they were much older. They taught her abit of the language and let her have a peek in their business. By the time Sophia turned 18 her mother had returned from years of a long trip doing business away for a private corperation, mainly architecture and training other crew members with certain knoweldge such as data-coding, and the like. Occasianally she would lend a hand to help with Xenobiologists, help them to understand on aliens they operate and study. Ofcourse as this is a private corp. They paid her highly due to the private sector supply. But all those years away from her daughter and son really changed them into indifferent people. Ofcourse they already passed their phase of missing their mother, but now they're into an age where they both are living in the now, in the moment, and loving every bit of it. At this age, Sophia had taken an interest in getting her reputation for being a smuggler and so she took it upon herself to get in deep with a local gang, nothing too major, just a street gang that nobody paid attention to. At this rate she was pushing 20 pounds of illegal narcotics, from bags to boxes. Eventually she was found pushing only 2 grams of a herb which is illegal, and was arrested for up to 6 months in a low security prison. However, her time of being there helped her to develop her learning of the Gutter language, as many prisoners became fluent in it from other organizations and street gangs and alike. So it was supposed to be 6 months, right? Wrong! Her time of swearing at authority figures and fighting other inmates forced her sentence to from being 6 months, to a year. But when she was taunted into a fight with another member of a rivial gang she made a makeshift knife, improvising. During lunchtime in the cafeteria Sophia and a friend ambushed the rivial member and he suffered two stabs wounds and one of the wounds were noticable on his face. This bumped her up to 2 years and a medium security prison. From here the rules were different and the guards were robust. She quickly found herself in Solitary confinement most of the time while others could mingle with eachother. From here she was finally having time to herself, and didn't have to pay any attention to the world. It was a slow and hard journey but eventually Sophia took the time to think and explore herself further. It was a hard change but in a month she went from being in Solitary confinement and reading books to herself, to meditating and exploring her goals she would like to achieve in her lifetime. Her aggressive nature was toned down alot and even the guards had noticed it and dropped a quick feedback note to Sophia. Making things easier for herself at the prison she was then released on parole with a chip, for her past offences and violent nature. She resumed working with her father's bike shop to earn the money she needed but also because no other place would take her, and refused to push anymore narcotics for the gang she was with. Because of her reputation they were afraid of her outburst, they didn't confront her about the decisions she was making. She focused on going to a foreigner based college where no one would know her and was far enough away from her house. She was focusing in Bachelors for documentation and enquiry purposes, also administrative. She knew it would be a handy tool to have by her side aswell as fixing two-weeled vehicles. At the age she hit in her mid twenties she had finally made enough money to buy her a formal attire and to decently sit a job interview after the police released her from parole. The job she was going for was to do with performing maintence, test riding and repairing bikes and similar driving appliances... yes, we're looking at you, Segways! She also had heard about sealing any convictions which she considered before applying for the job. By this point she had a child with her boyfriend, but after a couple of months of the baby being born, Sophia and her partner were not on good terms and in the end she had called off the relationship. She doesn't know what's happened to him nor does she really care, their outbursts for the past few months were intense enough to cause Sophia to have shame anxiety, she was afraid of it happening again. But after seeing a therapist and taking medicine to help adverse her anxiety, she would soon be cured of it and return back to being herself, fully. Sophia's brother, Dayton, is now usually stuck with handling her child as she boards the shuttle to dock at the station and begin her work for NanoTreason. What do you like about this character?:Their entire history isn't so bad, it's not a complete Mary Sue either. I like it, it's a rational, well balanced background. I also like her hair, though. It's unique! What do you dislike about this character?: She's very tired most of the time. Her sense of humor is quite dry, and when other people have a different sense of humor from hers, it tends to conflict with her being moody, ESPECIALLY with pranks. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Sophia has come a long way, from being in prison to working in a job and eventually gaining herself a proper job rather then staying in her dads small business. Although it was wrong what she did in her past, it demonstrates she has the will and integrity to stick things out. Taking care of her child also shows her taking responsibility as a parent. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 10/10. Extra notes: If there are any issues or queries, do not hesitate to contact me, I don't bite.
Killerhurtz Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 +1 Sophia best Warden. Seriously though - I've seen Sophia quite often, and she already gave off the HoS-in-warden-boots vibe. That player is READy.
Eliot Clef Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 +1 I can only second Killerhurtz. Sophia's a good Warden, she'll make a good HoS.
Xelnagahunter Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I enjoy the character and the player both. They have proven to me that they spend quite a bit of time learning something before jumping in. Support.
slc97 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I've never played with Deyton Ironmonger, but I've seen Sophia a number of times. She would make a fantastic Head of Security. She already has a pretty solid hand over the security team every time I've seen her as warden. They listen to her, and she doesn't get a big head from it. I would love nothing more than to work command staff with Sophia Ironmonger. Wish I could give more than +1
