Scurra's Head Whitelist!

Recommended Posts

BYOND key:Scurra

Character names:Cosima Saeva, Euroa De'Leo

How long have you been playing on Aurora?:Couple months.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:There's a common issue of not having enough Heads of Staff, and I wish to be someone that people can look up to, as I like setting a good example.

Why did you come to Aurora?:It's one of the few servers that promote high roleplay, and it reasonably provides, to an extent.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?:Of course!

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:Roleplaying is typically "make-believe". You're roleplaying as a barbarian in a D&D game, you're roleplaying as a lizard-person on a space station simulator, you're roleplaying as a robot in a D&D spin-off. It's all the same, yet for the same purpose: For fun. Strangely, on a game like Space Station 13 which is arguably one of the better roleplaying games out there, there's a very high lack of fun. A good number of its community is brash, troll-ish, or just downright toxic. That isn't what this game is supposed to be about at all, it's supposed to be about having fun, and throwing away your real life "worries" so to speak, to interact with other people who have aligning interests with you--To play as a person on a space station several hundred years in the future. Are you a person who exists just to ruin other people's day in real life? Are you a person who just wants to be annoying to get off on other people's reactions in the actual world? Do you continuously try to be awful to everyone around you just to be that way?

Then why do so on a game where people are just trying to have fun?

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:It's for people to both respect, and look up to you. New players in the game are always going to look for people's help as this is a very complicated and in-depth game, but the best thing they can always do is go directly to their boss, and inform them that they're new. I really don't like seeing toxic heads of staff that always expect the best no matter what of their employees; you need someone that can understand someone's frustration and confusion, and turn it into a good feeling, an inspiration, that makes the person walking away feel like they actually learned something. It keeps the employee wanting to keep going, and that's exactly what I want to bring to this server!

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:The responsibilities, obviously, are to set a good example and be an inspiration to those who want to follow in your character's footsteps. Does everyone want to be a Head of Staff or Captain one day? Probably not. But what I mean, is that you don't have to be the absolute best at everything and come off as this "ultra-professional brick wall that never cracks" to be a good Head of Staff. All it takes is the patience and understanding to talk to your employees, and act reputable in a decent manner. We can't forget that while this is a big responsibility, it's ultimately just a game for people to relax and enjoy!

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.

Character name:Euora De'Leo

Character age:30

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):Euora was born into the clan of the De'Leo. A highly-respected, wealthy Unathi family that decided to base their business in the Altair system, and despite its hostility, on the planet of Doha, inside of a privately-owned bio-dome. This is where Euora was raised, though frequent visits outside the dome to neighboring planets were not unheard of. Euora essentially got everything that she wanted, and was always treated with utmost respect. With age however, she began to tire of people constantly vying for her affection, just to please her parents.

As her personality changed, her parents were surprisingly accepting, and she gradually shifted away from her mother and father who were gradually becoming more and more transparent in her life, she was more interested in meeting people who weren't going to suck up to her, (Even though she secretly enjoys it) and treat her just as any other average joe. My, what a thought that was, to be considered normal and ordinary! She longed for it, but never knew where to go. Surely she'd be discriminated against, surely she'd be insulted, surely she'd be attacked, or worse. But she didn't care, that's what happens to normal people, and that's what she'll do!

Dead-set on a trip to Sol, she was making her final preparations for her trip a few weeks from today. That was, until her father, for once, informed her of a career with a company that was very promising. She listened with great interest as she was happily speaking to her father for the first time in a long time, and she looked at him with eager eyes, asking to know what the name of this corporation that mined this "Super-fuel" was. His eye twinkled, and he nodded down at her. "Nanotrasen, my daughter."

What do you like about this character?:I like how she's typically easygoing and will always give everyone a fair chance. She includes everyone in everything she does, and compliments people on a day-to-day basis. She also does everything she can to make everyone's day a bit brighter, and always brings presents in the shape of bots, cyborgs, and mechs for the various departments of the station. Not only that, but she's a character that everyone seems to enjoy following, and have as their leader!

What do you dislike about this character?:Being born in a wealthy family and always getting what she wants as is the severe variation from the norm with most Unathi, she can get a tad crass if things don't go her way. She's also got it in her mind that people who're annoying just to be annoying are the salt of the Earth so to speak, and are personally out to ruin her day. That, and she's super tall!

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?:I think her sheer knowledge of everything in Science would be an acceptable reason. She's also got a somewhat "jokester" personality, but she also has a trait which makes people like her. It feels good to be around her. It's why she can inspire people, and convince them to follow her.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?:Not to sound like I'm super duper over-confident in my abilities, but hey, I think I'm pretty good! Anyone who's ever interacted with me can confirm that I always take the time to interact with people and constantly get out of my comfort zone, and I include as many people as I can when I'm in-game.
