Guest Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I play the following characters: Vira Taryk, previously known as Vira De Santos. She once was a very awful character, she's better now. While she's excellent at doing her job now, she's socially inept and isn't very good at making friends. She used to be a sassy evil bitch but I cut the "evil" and "sassy" out of her when I realized pissing people off wasn't really that fun in the long run. Rebecca De Santos, a.k.a Beckie, my third character after Hardin Stryker and then Vira, is the relatively spunky and occasionally troublemaking low-level security officer. She is a bit of a nut for recreational drugs, but she's arguably one of my most 'chill' characters. Talia Varick, no other known aliases, is my Hindu/Buddhist Research Director. I took a lot of inspiration for this character from Tenenza, our resident Buddhist admin who is just as equally chill and nice. Talia was once in an awkward position of being betrothed to an Unathi pirate clan leader, but it didn't last too long since he got shot. Talia spent a good 10 years with a research team out in the Frontier, so she has a lot of Outer Rim habits, and fluently speaks Gutterband. She specializes in bluespace anomalies, xenobiological processes and occasionally takes up mechanical work. Keela Hul-Ahat, my female Unathi chemwizard-lizard. Used to be a wise woman for an unnamed Moghes wasteland tribe. I don't play them that much so I never got to flesh them out very well. Isa Sov, is my dedicated captain character. Her background's relatively clean, perhaps too clean to work on a space station. She's quiet, old-looking and relatively unassuming. Nothing perceivably special about her... maybe. Fahim Esmael, my gruff Tajaran miner cat-dude. He's extremely humble and also very much indebted to the corporation he works for. He utterly hated the living environment back on Adhomai, in which the other alley cats would spill each other's blood in the name of freedom. He seized an opportunity with a mining coalition that allegedly had connections with NanoTrasen's interests on the planet. He managed to sign on with the corporation and get his furry ass off-world, and into spess. Gaal Tup'Aronas, the obviously better part of the Tup'Aronas Skrellian pod-brother duo. Both grown in cloning vats from when they were tiny itty bitty embryos, similar to how the Tup Commando division breeds their own clone soldiers, the brothers instead were intended to be bred to lead different lives than that of soldiers. They joined up with the Confederate Navy in unknowing spite of that, having served until before the Contact War in which both of the brothers took their chance to be discharged and avoid the war. They took that chance to receive schooling in a wide collective variety of skills and knowledge. Gaal himself was more interested in mechanical/electrical work, especially when messing with droids, robots or other sub-intelligent machines. The two brothers, Gaal and Aelios, with rather extensive knowledge in peacekeeping and law enforcement during their time in the Confederacy, opted to first take contracts as security officers for the corporation, NanoTrasen. Overall, it's still a very confusing chronology of circumstances regarding their backstory. Cidi, my IPC with a chassis painted like grape juice. Though Cidi often identifies as "it", Cidi has semi-feminine features and a voice synthesizer that produces a mostly female voice. Cidi is one of the few "elevated" synthetics, in that their memory core retains data and methods more efficiently than line models. Because of this, Cidi has a rather wide understanding of biology, physics, electrical work, the general sciences, and normally rather foreign concepts such as introspection, faith, and an ability to not malfunction when presented with a circular programming logic fallacy. Despite the wide array of "human-like" traits, Cidi finds themselves far, far away from getting anywhere close to actual organic sentience. Though it retains a good deal of wisdom, it's never come to the conclusion that it's still a tool for humanity to use. Cidi is a scientist, by the way, and it never takes over the job of other people if it can be helped. The rest in my character slots: I've never bothered playing them, but I have all 20 filled up. Everyone else has done that, "whuddya think about my ar pee, soljur", so I figured I'd go the extra mile and plug all of my characters. So, my question is, which of my characters do you know, which of them do you like or hate the most? How do you think I could improve any of them, regardless of your personal tastes for one or the other? This is in fact an effortpost, so pls make effort replies. Quote
Carver Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 This is in fact an effortpost, so pls make effort replies. I was going to until you said this. Vira Taryk, previously known as Vira De Santos. She once was a very awful character, she's better now. Liiiiiies. Actually kind of competent HoS. 7.5/10 She used to be - sassy -- but I cut the -- "sassy" out of her - Bullshit. Rebecca De Santos, a.k.a Beckie, my third character after Hardin Stryker and then Vira Every time I see them I half-confuse them for their sister or w/e. I haven't noticed much of them, which is odd considering I've spectated atleast two rounds with them. This can be taken as a good or bad thing. 6/10 but she's arguably one of my most 'chill' characters. I don't believe you're capable of being chill. Talia Varick, no other known aliases, is my Hindu/Buddhist Research Director. Another one I half-confuse for Vira on slight occasion due to the similar surname. I've only seen them slightly more than above and can't really form any opinions from what I've seen, but again, that means no negative opinions either. 6/10 fluently speaks Gutterband. Mixing Gutter with Tradeband is how you get stabbed in Security the frontier. Keela Hul-Ahat, my female Unathi chemwizard-lizard. I've literally never seen them so there's no point in either smart-ass remarks or size=1 comments here. 5/10 irregardless. Isa Sov, is my dedicated captain character. I feel like I've seen you play their Lifeweb variant moreso than the SS13 version. Probably seen them a total of once, so, 6/10. Her background's relatively clean, perhaps too clean to work on a space station. She's quiet, old-looking and relatively unassuming. Nothing perceivably special about her... maybe. Contrary to popular belief and what I've seen during rounds, you don't need to be a mass murdering psychopathic lesbian who tries to sleep up half the department to work on a station. You don't even need to be especially, well, special. Fahim Esmael, my gruff Tajaran miner cat-dude. Filthy catbeast. I can't really say anything about miners, you never actually tend to see miners unless you play Cargo or Research. 7/10 anyways because they're not a snowflake cat who somehow managed to get into the Science Division. Gaal Tup'Aronas, 8/10 concept, 9/10 execution, 4/10 antagonist please git gud and don't log next time. the obviously better part of the Tup'Aronas Skrellian pod-brother duo. I disagree with this statement and would be willing to fight you over it. Cidi, my IPC with a chassis painted like grape juice. The question is, do they taste like Grape juice as well? 6.5/10 for having a relatively uncommon character concept going on. Can't otherwise say much, because, again, never seen them. Quote
Tenenza Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Talia Varick is kinda scary. I mean, they even get weirdly pissy over the smallest stuff like I, sometimes. She could drink more tea. I could drink more tea. Why don't they sell winter teas. I mean, they have summer teas. Serious, I google winter tea, and all I get is this: http://www.republicoftea.com/winter-teas/c/winter/ That's a single tea right there. Vanilla. Herbal. Yuk. Vanilla isn't a herbal flavour. You're a horrible tea maker. Herbal tea is for losers. Ahem. Good character. More tea. File your paperwork. More megaprojects. Quote
