JershMersh Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 BYOND key: JershMersh Character names: Lauren Schendel, Cain Tsundes, Willek Von Den Pinienwald, Walter Maerschk How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Around four months. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I'd like to play as a Head of Staff, of course, but I also am of the mind that I'd make a good addition to the Heads in general while playing as one. Why did you come to Aurora?: I was looking for a decent HRP server with a consistent population, and Aurora fits that criteria. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is the act of creating a character fit for a particular environment, placing them in it, and acting as though you are that character. In the case of Aurora, roleplay should be about creating a character who is realistic - a genuine, breathing, emotional person who has proper experience and training to do their job and who was a real will to get a paycheck every day. Good roleplay takes good characters and a good demeanor towards the situations that arise on station, so roleplay should be about filling the shoes of your character as best as possible in a realistic and meaningful a way. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose of Heads of Staff is to monitor the other players' characters in their department and to make sure things go smoothly. Reporting breaks in RP or rules is important for everyone, but more so for people playing Heads of Staff. Of course, people playing Heads of Staff are also supposed to make sure that their particular department is operating in such a manner that it isn't detrimental to other players - as in, a Head of Security should make sure that security is doing it's job so that sufficient RP takes place when there's a crime, in order to keep other players stimulated. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Maintaining a fluid RP environment is the main responsibility of whitelisted players to others, I'd say. For instance, knowing all that your character must know to run their department is important in order to teach other players who's characters may be of a lower tier of education than your own, or answering questions about the department to anyone in general. In order to uphold these responsibilities, I'd do my best to be consistently present and well immersed in my Head of Staff character while playing them, and spend plenty of time keeping watch for anything out of the ordinary that would infringe on another player's ability to enjoy the game. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Cain Tsundes Character age: 54 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Cain was born on a mining colony to the owners thereof. He was always a fortunate person when it came to wealth, which helped to fund his studies. His younger years were nothing of mention - a happy home and a happy life. As he aged, he began experimenting heavily with drugs, and by his third year in university, found himself an addict. His initial studies were in physical chemistry, though his affinity for psychedelic drugs lead him to study psychology more heavily. Despite being addicted to a number of drugs, he passed his classes with ease. It was not until he began working for a now-nameless pharmaceutical research company that he realized the full extent of his problem with substances. By the time he was thirty, he had worked through his addictive habits and began his recovery process. It took no time at all to admit to himself that he needed help, and not much more time to rehabilitate himself. As he became clean, he picked up Tradeband from a close friend in rehab, who also turned him on to the idea of going back to school, where Cain had always felt the most at home and appreciated. For the next twenty years, Cain would travel from station to station, planet to planet, spending the majority of his inherited fortune on education from individual prestigious universities, and working for more corporations than he could count. His certifications in the medical field are nearly countless, but his love for treating patients and studying medicine are, as of now, yet to fade. What do you like about this character?: Cain has quite a personality. Despite being a lover of medicine and of treating patients, he's very sarcastic to everyone, sometimes to the point of seeming a little mean. I've been playing this character since he was thirty years old, and I've loved every bit of playing as him solely because his personality is comical and deeply interesting. His backstory alludes to a whole slieu of experiences, and its always good to see just what I can do with that. What do you dislike about this character?: I dislike that Cain was rushed as a character as far as his age goes. I also think he has more to offer to others as far as RP goes, but I don't branch out much with him. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: His experience, demeanor, and age make Cain fit to be a Head of Staff. He's always worked hard to reach higher-up positions, and he knows his stuff better than anyone else in his class (or so he likes to think). He also has the personable skills of someone who's fit to be in a leadership position. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would say my roleplaying is good. On a scale from one to ten, I'd call it a seven or an eight. In a few words, I'd say I am an agreeable and adaptable roleplayer. Extra notes: I look forward to continuing to play on Aurora, and thanks for reading this application, yo.
Owen Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Alright, I don't recognize any of your characters except Lauren Schendel. I don't think any of my characters have met Lauren up until recently. But, what I have seen from Lauren has been some pretty good roleplay. Your application looks good from what I can tell and I think I will be alright with you having a Head of Staff whitelist. +1
