Why do you wish to play this specific race: Skrell are always pretty interesting to me. They're arguably the most powerful race in existance, are the oldest known race to reach the stars, and always seemed like a great species from what they've accomplished.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They can't process food like meat, and have to eat mainly plants, algae, and insects. They tend to ignore genders/can't tell between genders of other species. Can live to 350 years (Allowing them to get numerous degrees, training, etc.).Many are sterile from Glorsh's genophage. Speak in basic sentences to get the point across quick. Lastly, paranoia and distrust of synths due to Glorsh.

Character Name: Qleshi-Ras Tulo'Wesh

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Much chaos. Confusion, Told that I am important for survival. Nothing works, spend so much time trying to fix. New skrell come. They bring word of a new federation like those from the books. Told that robots are banned. No matter. Establish contact with new race. Humans interesting. Work for degree. Became xenoarchelogist. Enjoy position. Many others in field. Competition hard. Hear about new species. Hear about contact war. Ourea sounds interesting. Must work for second degree. Perhaps robotics this time.

Many strange ones. Not many humans and skrell. Robotics work useful. Feels wrong at first. Unathi eager to learn. Interesting. Moghes is blasted. Seems like unathi want to come to better world now. Unathi become angry. Fleet formed of raider monsters. Fleet smashed NanoTrasen. Fleet smashed Skrells. No longer feel safe. Move to Biesel. Not much work. Find flyer. NanoTrasen offers jobs. That is why I am here. Good work. Good people. Good company.

What do you like about this character? He's calm, social, and hard-working. He doesn't really care for conflict, is a bit of a coward, and is able to keep his cool in difficult environments.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10.

I'm a fan of the first person perspective. This biography reads like a cross between an autobiography and a slam poetry session. It's certainly raised some questions while conveying the voice of the character. It also provides some interesting perspective on how he ended up on our lovely station.

I haven't seen many Skrell go the Ourean route thus far. This is the first application-made Skrell I can recall who was actually there when Skrell and Humanity had their ambitious go at helping the budding Unathi get some colonial experience. It might be a treat to see how one one of our Unathi regulars chooses to portray a filthy xeno who lived alongside the Unathi for an extended period of time.

Tentative plan is to leave this application open for feedback for "a few days minimum" before making a judgement one way or another. Also, if you want to be bothered with needless questions about the character, his history, or anything mildly Skrell related, please feel free to send my a PM and/or contact me over discord. This has a disappointingly low amount of feedback. I'm wagering it's because you only listed one of your many characters. Canon role-plays with skill, and it's a bit disheartening to see one of the more underrated players on our server go with such sparse feedback. He has good versatility with his abilities, and all though robotics on Ourea sounds odd to me, I like the autobiographical nature the backstory is presented in. I think putting it in a Skrell using Tau Ceti Basic format showcased their understanding of how Skrell are generally supposed to speak basic, as well as the logic and pragmatism of the Skrell. I'd like to see Qleshi-Ras Tulo'Wesh on the station, +1.

Canon has proven to be capable of creating respectable characters in the past, and I have no reason to believe that this will be an exception. After reading this application and speaking with Canon about his prospective Skrell character, I feel I can say that he has put some effort into Qleshi-Ras and has a good grasp on the species. While this application does not have much positive player feedback, it has much less negative feedback.

What could possibly go wrong?
