BYOND Key: Dreamixpl

Character Names: my forum signature+some random characters

Species you are applying to play: Tajara

What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Ivory (RGB 205, 205, 192), maybe a bit darker.

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: I'd like to play a cat who's not an extreme gay deviant or a silly goofy kitty. I'd like to teach some cats a lesson by reporting them to KittyKGB and by on-station no-fun-allowed head of staff rulings. I'd like to be a little Joefootwear, with my cat trying to separate himself from ones who bring shame to Adhomai. I'd like to have all the whitelists some day, too.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Racism, difference, being terrorist scum of the universe. Humanization of Tajaras, their culture fading away. They're just different.

Character Name: Zoya Far'hi-Jaskulski

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Born in 2416 CE (0), just two years before Human Discovery, Zoya's childhood was fairly normal. As normal as her big M'sai family living in a small town around the equator could provide. She never really openly questioned any of the uprisings, however, her family has always been on the Njarir side. It was just convenient for them. Serving the nobility in exchange of some leniency and freedom. Peasantry was 'distant' for her, much like a different species. They didn't want to play or even talk, she felt alienated, interacting only with her family. In 2421 CE (5), after the martial law was enacted by nobility, her family quickly switched sides to the rebellion. The fight was quick, but bloody, and the rulers all died a slow death. Zoya was forced to celebrate the victory with Zhans and Hharars that day. But it was not over, in the following years, her family would lose a good chunk of their members, fighting with the loyalists. But they remained strong, entrenched in the city they lived since forever.

2431 CE (15), the revolution has finally came to an end. It was the time for Zoya to start her military training, like any young M'sai should. Taken from the feminine part of family, into the uncharted waters. One of her first assignments was execution of the remnants of remaining nobility troops. "We surrender! We want to join you!" they were saying, but orders were orders, even if unfair. And Zoya did not want to be on the receiving end of a gun. 2432 CE (16), Far'hi clan has again swayed to the nobility side. This time, in the form of The People's Republic of Adhomai. Zoya, never openly biased in favor of anyone, has been quickly promoted higher up in her unit. She's been an officer from this point, but she's always been trying to avoid combat. After receiving proper education, she got herself a position in more 'intellectual' branch of Republic's military, that is supply and management.

2451 CE (35), People's Republic President was assassinated by a Zhan-Khazan radical. Zoya's unit was relocated to the capital, Nal'Tor. She witnessed there many deaths of the 'subversive' citizens, mainly Zhan's. but she remained impartial, always executing orders to the letter, supplying her fellow soldiers with weaponry imported from space. In 2052 CE (36), as NanoTrasen's presence has been 'increasing' in the capital, they have brought medical care, literacy, access to the extranet. Things that weren't here before. And the Stellar Corporation had offered a life off-world for the chosen ones from the military. It was Zoya's chance to flee Adhomai, to run away from the stubborn Zhan's, fickle family, rough nobles. The reason was, officially, to let the loyal and reliable officers control and scout for illegal refugees and misbehaving Tajara off-world. A new life. Zoya has quickly gained Quartermaster clearances, working aboard NanoTrasen vessels, managing cargo and her subordinates around.

In 2458 CE (42), thanks to her previous experience with supply and management, and few years of honest work aboard NanoTrasen vessels, fourty-two year old Zoya has been promoted to a Head of Personnel position.

What do you like about this character? Non-obvious dislike for Zhan's and other peasantry who 'ruined everything'. Somewhere deep inside, she would like the old times of nobility to come back.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? Definitely not a furry. 6.4/10

Notes: I can separate myself from my characters. If I'm mean and salty in the OOC shittalk, I may still be roleplaying just fine IC.

Backstories are hard. Mine may not be perfectly worded or beautifully composed, but I believe it shows a reasonable "growth" of a character, from a small kitty cat to a space employee, without any snowflakery or handwaved bits.

Not a furry, -1.

But for real, nice app. You seemed to put a lot of work into it, showed understanding of the lore, etc etc.

+1

Your backstory is consistent and the timeline follows along the established lore in the places I cared to double check.

I know for one that you'd make a character that involves themselves with the lore consistently. So you're a-okay in my book.

Just be sure that you follow your orders like a good PRA veteran would.

Welcome to the team.
