Lonely Caravan
BYOND Key:Riqpley_Dagasd Character Names:Fahjurl Nkharai, Robert Phillips, Izkhezash Ssha’Khus Species you are applying to play:IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):None. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to play as an IPC because i was running about the aurora wiki, bored, and the IPC called my attention, due to its differences, not only by the mechanics, but about the lore, that is so adaptable to backstories, and not only that, but its differences of humans, the many possibilities of creating different ways of an IPC to be, so they could emulate emotions, but at the same time, another IPC, is completely expressionless, with a different way of being. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: As i said before, the IPCs have a variety of options that na IPC can be, you can compare two IPCs, one with a baseline, the most cheap version, with only basic and required components, such as Memory Storages, Power cells, etc, and on the other side, the shell, the most expensive, with everything included of best, Advanced Memory Storage, Emotion Emulator, Personality Emulator and such more things. Character Name:Experiencer-742-‘Sierra’ Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs In 2440, two brothers decided to make their own IPCs, and, hopefully, sell them to a big company. The older brother, called Jerry, was an engineer, and with his other brother, Richard, a scientist. They decided that their company would be called ‘Experiences’, and their motto, ‘Always try a new Experience’. They created 10 IPCs, called “S-1”,”S-2” and up. They consisted in a baseline chassis, basic Memory Storage, a cheap Cooling Unit, and no Morality Core. Their Positronic Brains had around 1500 pathways. One of them, was called “SS-1”, with an even cheaper Cooling Unit, but giving more space to a bigger Positronic Brain, consisting of 2500 pathways, used to process a Morality Core, with na Emotion Emulator, Personality Emulator, and a slightly bigger Memory Storage. He also had Experimental Software, with an Improvisational Developmental System (IDS). The brothers made lots of tests, and the 'SS-1' always got the best results. Then, the brothers halted the production on the ‘S’ line, and started upgrading the ‘SS’ line, changing their name to ‘Experiencers’ and perfecting their chassis. The next step was trying to sell it to a company. The company chose the ‘SS’, and bought one. The brothers then, decided to produce 1000 ‘Experiencers’ IPCs, selling the old 'S' line, hiring some roboticists, buying loans, and continue producing the 'Experiencer' line. Each one, with a serial number, and a letter. The company then made different types of Experiencers, for different tasks. Type S: the Experiencer type ‘Sierra’ was built with a heavier plate, made for security tasks, such as arresting criminals, breaching rooms, and was able to take most low caliber bullets. It was programmed to use most of the weapons, and was also programmed to be able to attend injured people at a basic level, closing wounds with gaze, and carrying them to a safe place, where medics could attend them properly. The next type, the ‘Delta’ type, was built to treat injured. The last type, the ‘Uniform’ type, was completely configurable, and could learn to do things, so the owner could develop the skills of the ‘Uniform’ type. All of them are configurable, so their owners could set the volume of their voice, they could be sensored, so the Experiencers couldn’t swear, and much else. The ‘Sierra’ and ‘Delta’ type had their IDS removed, but could be reattached. The Experiencers lack laws, but they will obey their owners, and the Experiences never had a malfunctioning Experiencer. The Experiences company made a contract with NT, selling around 200 of the Experiencers, being 50 ‘Sierra’ type, 100 ‘Delta’ type, and 50 ‘Uniform’ type. One of these Experiencers of the 'Sierra' type, was assigned to the NSS Exodus, a mining and research station. . What do you like about this character? I like how the Experiencers can be configurable, and how the ‘Uniform’ type can learn to do things, so it could just learn on how to operate something. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would rate 7 to 8. Notes: I’m not good at english, please, if you see any errors on my application, state them on a reply, and i will fix them. ANY kind of errors, please. ALSO, the ‘Sierra’ type had NO connection with SierraKomodo. Edited April 3, 2017 by Guest Link to comment
DatBerry
Riqpley is one of the few i didn't like their playing style at first, and even complained about, and managed to change. a lot of their old awful behavior died out and they've improved a lot, so that is a +1 in that aspect. chair RP wise, i haven't managed to get much, they have a habit of going SSD in security when the round is boring, and seems to never comeback. one incident i remember was them saying they'll head off to play in another server in OOC, and logging out with their officer in full gear, not bothering to put their equipment and heading to cryo. into the story, half the story is about the company, not the IPC, and the other is about the robot's design, not the IPC in particular. while the whitelist characters are there to show you have an understanding of the species, which you did. it does leave much to be desired with the character, whitelist characters are also used to measure your writing skills, so snowflaking a bit (not too much) is fine. i also wonder if a company that just started out would be able to dish out 1k robots in one go, we never got to know how the brothers managed to get the funds, and neither of them were roboticists, were they? Thanks! i also wonder if a company that just started out would be able to dish out 1k robots , we never got to know how the brothers managed to get the funds, and neither of them were roboticists, were they? I will manage to place more info in that aspect. Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
Hello, Sorry about the delay in your application! Now it seems like your IPC is very durable, and is obviously built for the security department. We have no mechanics to show Sierra having armor or anything; they can be a Baseline, an Industrial, or a Shell. Which of the synthetic models will they be? As well, what is Sierra like themselves? You've told us about their physical abilities, but not about their personality. Does this specific Sierra have one? Is it a standard model? Does it have quirks? Link to comment
Lonely Caravan
they can be a Baseline, an Industrial, or a Shell. Which of the synthetic models will they be? The Sierra specifically would be an industrial shell, but the other two, would be baseline shells. As well, what is Sierra like themselves? You've told us about their physical abilities, but not about their personality. Does this specific Sierra have one? Is it a standard model? Does it have quirks? The Experiencers can be completely configurable in the personality aspect. The Sierra that i will play will have some sarcasm, but not too much, compared to the other types of Experiencers.
