NoahKirchner
BYOND Key: NoahKirchner Character Names: Thomas McGillan, Jackson Wells, Christina Brown (Used for borgs), Kyler Benford, Eric Kimple, Charles Digson, Hudson Edwards, Victor Andreev, Holden Richards, Adam Harding AI/Borg names: Gamma, Omnicron Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yup. The lore's rather neat, so I've read all of it that I could find. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've always found the idea of playing a robotic, emotionless character rather interesting. So as soon as I read up on IPCs, and saw that they have a rather large range of ways to roleplay that, I was instantly incredibly interested in the race. For example, you can be a cold, work only machine that takes orders and speaks in a robotic, monotone voice, or you can have advanced emotion synthesizers and a top of the line voice synthesizer, and really any combination in between. That is really what drew me to the race, the broad range of personalities that you can create with it, and stories that you can tell. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: You have the ability to forego emotion in some, if not all, cases, where as roleplaying with a human requires you to be constantly aware of what your character would be thinking or feeling at the time. That being said, you still have a set of laws or a morality core to adhere to, which still allows conflict. Beyond that, just speech patterns and quirks typical of androids like regimented, "to the point" speech and consideration of the intricacies of being a synthetic (Serial numbers, module malfunctions, et cetera). Where as a human generally has a rather cookie-cutter moral compass that they adhere to and a generally similar level of emotion, IPCs are capable of going far past human levels of empathy, or fall incredibly short, and that makes them much different to roleplay. Character Name: Seven Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs HRD-FS-2227 is recently constructed industrial frame, being produced on HRS Lemnos just after the Sol Occupation ended. Designed to specialize in security, specifically in the field of forensics, the unit's memory storage consists mostly of information regarding forensics, genetics, and also contains rudimentary close combat and weapons knowledge, though only enough for self defense. Furthermore, his personality emulator compels him to be curious for curiosity's sake, and his voice synthesizer grants him a vaguely male, bass robotic tone. His emotion emulator is severely lacking, and as such the unit maintains a rather constant, neutral attitude. Despite this, HRD-FS-2227 is designed to be able to read the facial expressions and analyze the voices of organics and to speak clearly, if need be, so as to assist with the social side of investigations. HR-FS-2227, shortly following being constructed, activated, and undergoing successful testing, was sold by the Hephaestus Robotics Division to Nanotrasen to act as part of their security division. As he awaited assignment, HR-FS-2227 decided to condense his name to only "Seven", so as to make communication with his future co-workers easier. After having the entirety of Nanotrasen corporate law uploaded into his memory storage, the newly named Seven was assigned to the NSS Exodus as a forensic technician. What do you like about this character? I like the idea of a very curious, yet monotone and emotionless robot. He adheres to corporate law, but because his programming tells him to, not because his morality core designates right from wrong. I also very much enjoy the thought of a security IPC that acts purely in self defense, as opposed to always being on the front line as they often are. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 6.5. I know there are a lot of ways that I can improve my roleplay, and I know that I am not anywhere near the best in the world, but I do try rather hard to maintain character as much as possible. Notes: I am not the best story writer, and my writing may be a bit clunky. I did my best to proofread it and re-wrote it a fair few times, hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to get across. Lualyrr
I kind of like the idea of a highly analytical Synthetic working in forensics. Usually its a job that requires some out of the box thinking and deep understanding of human psyche I'd say, but I can see that a specialized IPC has other qualities that enable good forensic work. Further I think the possibility of playing a highly curious construct could be something new and refreshing. I've played with some of Noahs other characters. I especially like Thomas McGillan and Victor Andreev, but also their synthetic characters. Especially the latter prove that Noah will be very capable and worthy of this Whitelist, should it be approved! +1 Hands down. Link to comment

Pyrociraptor
While I never encountered your characters in game (Timezone related reasons, I guess), and thus I'm unable to tell if I like your Roleplaying style or not,I do love the IPC design, going as a "emotionless" (yet curious) Robot. And I also like the idea of a Highly analytical toaster working somewhere these "skills" are required, Forensic, also matching my ideas of "Robots are for work" (But that's just a personal opinion.) So +1 from me Link to comment

CakeIsOssim
A pretty basic backstory, but it gets the job done well enough, I think. However, I'm curious as to why an industrial frame would be deployed in a forensics setting. Industrial frames are big, bulky, heavy, and designed to take a beating and survive in hostile conditions and keep on ticking. Not something that particularly strikes me as a lab coat-wearing investigator. Link to comment

Well, there is always a chance in security operations that an IPC (Or any officer, for that matter) is going to be put into harm's way, even though a forensic technician would likely be the last in. He is not a fighter, as I outlined in the application, but I figured that it would make sense that he would be built to withstand at least a small bit of punishment as opposed to the more basic baseline frames, which would icly likely be a bit more brittle. OOCly I like the idea of a slow moving, large, but generally peaceful and investigative/curious IPC. Link to comment
