Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): Discord: JJ #8917

Additional Comments:

I really like the lore on this server, especially the Sol Alliance lore and would love to be able to contribute to it and I have numerous ideas but would be open to suggestions. If accepted I intend mostly to expand mostly on Sol government lore in relation to Systems and planets under its controlled. Some of my goals would be to:

  • Primarily, flesh out and increase the relevance of the the frontier and epsilon eridani as there is currently nothing substantial currently canon about them or they are ignored areas of the lore in game.

  • I notice a few players are not extremely happy with how some ATLAS members and related gimmicks are portrayed in game, as such I intend the shift the focus of ATLAS from "fuck xenos" to the other aspects of ATLAS doctrine. Likely would be achieved by a rewrite that makes it more clear that ATLAS is humans first and not mainly xenophobia. This hopefully would make ATLAS portrayed more accurately in-game.

-1.

You seem to do a lot of roleplay that just entails being a militant ATLAS supporter. You say you want to shift away from that and I disagree, I would rather you focus on something you already do because in my opinion the ATLAS movement currently sucks and many of its players are just wehraboo scalies who have zero problem with xenos, and I don't like the idea of backing up that failure to properly play the faction with lore.

I am also giving you a -1 because your in-game characters are a little unbelievable which is a huge red flag for loredevs. Sorry.

You say many players are unhappy with how ATLAS is presented in game, but I have also found many players enjoy the aesthetics of ATLAS and how they are played in game. Can you justify why the players who want ATLAS to be changed are more valid in their suggestions than those that like how ATLAS is going as is? ATLAS is meant to be a problematic, antagonistic force on the periphery of Tau Ceti. They are 'bad guys' without being cartoon villains. They do a lot of good but the baggage they carry in their more extreme views lends them to being thrown into conflict with the ideals of many of our other station characters

As well, you haven't mentioned the Tau Ceti's own brand of ATLAS - the True Democrats. ATLAS are foreign nationalists who want to see Tau Ceti returned to the Sol Alliance. The True Democrats are pretty much equal in their views. Do you think anything should change about the politics of Tau Ceti? If so, why? What dynamic do you see between the Alliance and Tau Ceti?

The Frontier is not really "ignored", it's intentionally left vague. The frontier is meant to be a totally freeform area where players are free to create nearly any background within reason. It lets us take our hands off of monitoring everyone's backgrounds and not making it necessary to cross reference every backstory in the server. As long as it is not problematic or ridiculous (it's in the guide to try to avoid being bigger than 2 planets in terms of size) you can go nuts. Why does a firmer hand bring more benefit to the players than the loosey goosey structure? Is it necessary to police all player created lore and ensure they go through the process of oversight and application?

ATLAS in general is either played well or a complete failure in my eyes. Sean Richter is a very good example of ATLAS played properly, While on the other hand antag Gimmicks where ATLAS "human supremacists" go and murder every human on the station that doesn't join them(has happened) are not. My intentions are to reduce the chance of the latter happening, The players I've seen complain about ATLAS players often complain that ATLAS characters are all too similar and that the interactions are lazy. I don't intend to lessen the extremist views to any extent just increase the focus on the Human First policy. One of my ideas was to add a section that says that ATLAS discourages Members from being excessively xenophobic as it is a waste of resources and time that could be spend benefiting and improving Human controlled space, However it still teaches members the inferiority of non humans and their culture. I also liked the different fields of ATLAS that was present in the canonization app and would like to somehow incorporate them in some form, as it would add better variety and choice for ATLAS players

As well, you haven't mentioned the Tau Ceti's own brand of ATLAS - the True Democrats. ATLAS are foreign nationalists who want to see Tau Ceti returned to the Sol Alliance. I think that the Biesel division of ATLAS would want to limit the rights of non-humans in Tau Ceti as well as maintain a healthy relationship with the Alliance; I think the actions of vaurca(if the next vaurca loredev takes it closer to how fowl was going and make the species more antagonistic) in the system could be used to justify any propaganda the division has and actions they might take which could result in an increase in activity of them. For Tau Ceti Itself I don't think alot needs to be changed, but updating to reflect how actions of vaurca and the synth movement have impacted the system is important. I don't plan any major changes but mostly just want to expand on it. I think that the Alliance and Tau Ceti should be less friendly towards each other sparked by Frost's invasion, but I don't see there being a lot of hostile action against eachother as the Alliance would still be trying to recover its image and would not want to avoid something. Nanotrasen and Biesel Republic would still be recovering from the invasion and hold a lot of resentment towards Sol Gov.

I've looked at the lore for the frontier again; I agree with the vague structure and don't think alot needs to be changed now. I may make minor updates to the Frontier lore adding some structure to it while still allowing player a large amount of freedom. So instead of focusing on the frontier I intend to focus on fleshing out the minor human factions and they're relationship with the alliance and tau ceti.
