The following is a recipe manual of grenade mixtures for the construction of advanced combinatorial explosives. It is to be used with extreme caution as all these mixtures are inherently dangerous. I'd advice that only advanced chemists attempt the production of any of these mixtures and should they be deployed then extreme care is taken.

There is room for variation in the recipe, it is formated as such:

As glycerol production from corn hydroponics is quite low, other sources may be used or the remaining volume of a large grenade mix can be replaced with the standard K-H2O reaction.

This scheme is quite powerful and will result in a pretty impressive explosion while still spewing out the phoron from the napalm. Quite a dirty bomb.

By adding thermite to a napalm mix, there is no actual breaching but the explosion will generally burn with greater intensity. Monkeys used were rendered unidentifiable and were unable to be put out by a traditional fire extinguisher.[br]

Paralytic Acid Smoke

Named from essentially what it is, it paralyzes subjects as to allow the acid to set in upon them. It caused disfiguration (by polytrinic acid) and suffocation from the paralytic toxin (potassium chlorophoride, PCP).[br]

Chlorophoridic Napalm

As napalm in an open space may be rather quickly escaped, this utilized the same principle as PAS to allow the secondary damage to set it. Only it is the burning of a phoron fire rather than polytrinic acid.[br]

A Primer on Medicinal Chemistry

Automated chemistry is a sound paradigm which the pharmaceutical industry lives by. This simplification of chemical synthesis has allowed rapid production and prototyping of a great many medicines since the 21st century, this primer should serve as a handy reference for the use of the standard Nanotrassen ChemDispenser and supplemented with the functions of the ChemMaster as of 2459.

The foundational medicines are Inaprovaline and Dylovene, from these there is a large diversity in the effects of their analogues. On their own, Dylovene is a common anti-toxin and Inaprovaline is used to stabilize critical patients. Their synthesis is as follows:

[Acetone] + [Carbon] + [sugar] -> 3 [inaprovaline]

[Ammonia] + [Potassium] + [silicon] -> 3 [Dylovene]

The essential medication, Tricordrazine, is made simply by the mixing of both Inaprovaline and Dylovene. Tricordrazine is a highly potent stimulant that can treat suffocation, trauma, burns and toxins. In a large beaker add 20u acetone, carbon and sugar then ammonia, potassium and silicon, this will make 120u of tricord which can be bottled in the ChemMaster to give 2 full bottles.

Inaprovaline can be converted to Tramadol by reaction with Acetone and Ethanol. Tramadol is a good painkiller and essential for any medical service. It can be weakened to Paracetamol by mixing with Sugar and Water or made stronger with Ethanol and some Phoron as a catalyst, which would make Oxycodone. Inaprovaline is also reacted with equal amounts of Carbon to produce Bicardine. Bicardine is an effective treatment for brute trauma.

Dylovene can be mixed with an equal amount of Radium to produce Hyronalin, which is used in the treatment of mild radiation. It can be converted easily to Arithrazine, a more advanced treatment for radiaion, with Hydrazine which can inturn be converted to Ryetalyn with Carbon. In a large beaker, if you produce 60u of Hyronalin, you could convert it all to 2 bottles of Ryetalyn and a bottle of Arithrazine. Ryetalyn is an incredibly powerful medication that with just 1u, fix all genetic damage and any mutations. It can may also humanize some lab monkeys.

A simple sedative, Chloral Hydrate, and it's more powerful cousin, Soporific can be mixed quickly with the following synthetic schemes:

[Ethanol] + [Water] + 3[Hydrochloric Acid] -> [Chloral Hydrate]

[Chloral Hydrate] + 4[sugar] -> 5[soporific]

The yield of Chloral is low compared to that of Soporific, for example 20u ethanol, 20u water and 60u HCl, will only produce 20u of chloral hydrate. While 20u chloral with 80u sugar will produce 100u of soporific.

Phoron has also allowed for the development of incredibly useful medicines, for when only 0.1u of liquid phoron is mixed with 2u acetone, a unit of Dexalin is made. Dexalin is used in the treatment of oxygen deprivation and suffocation, though can be reacted with Iron and Carbon to produce the more effective Dexalin Plus which directly oxygenates the blood and effectively removes the need to breathe while it's in the system, much like early perfluorocarbons.

Dexalin is also used in the production of some of the greatest molecules of our time. Note adding water will inhibit the dexalin reaction and allow cryoxadone to be made. The following synthetic schemes have been developed by the outstanding chemistry team of Zeng-Hu Pharmaceutical:

[Cryoxadone] + [sodium] + [Phoron] -> [Clonexadone]

Administration of Xenomicrobes will cause an immediate 25% reduction in subjects overall health, this is regardless of dosage. This is due to the almost immediate onset of Xenomorph Transformation Syndrome (XTS), which can usually be treated with a combination of spacecillin and glycerol. Otherwise the microbes will gestate and metamorphasize inside the host until, rather quickly, bursting forth as a xenomorph drone.[br]

XTS manifests in 4 stages, the first being a scratchy throat which becomes involuntary groans, cursing and hunger. Until stage 4 which is the absolute death of the host and birth of the xenomorph drone. The captivity of the drones are of the utmost importance in futher research. We have yet to understand a great deal about their metabolism and diet, if they can be sedated then they may be a source for more xenomicrobes which will allow even further research.[br]

Chemical reactions with xenomicrobes should be investigated further, perhaps they may be reproduced in vitro. It is to be noted that the xenomicrobes are regulated under transformative xenobiological experiment regulations, as well as nanomachines and slime toxins, and performing transformative xenobiological experiments on a co-worker is considered homicide, and is punishable by corporate regulations and by law.

Since humankind, and well any conscious species, first started sampling the weird and wonderful flora and fauna indigenous to their homeworlds, they were faced with qualitative changes to their very consciousness by the structural activity relationship with their neuroproteins. This has evolved alongside civilization as we have found new ways to "get fucked up". This is a compendium of the drug names and safety data as well as known synthesis using the standard ChemDispenser's automated chemistry function and reagents. All substances mentioned here may be harmful and should be treated responsibly with respect.

A common designer Space Drug of the 24th century is surprisingly, Mercury Monolithium Sucrose, which goes by many, many street names but is made by reacting Lithium, Mercury and Sucrose in a ChemDispenser. It is known to cause altered vision, euphoria, drooling, twitching and random locomotor activity. Being incredibly quick and easy to synthesize, it is undoubtably widespread. The metabolism rateis quite slow at 0.025u/second and a high overdose threshold of 30u.

Painkillers are often a source of abuse, with Tramadol and Oxycodone being the most frequently taken. Oxycodone is highly addictive and has a metabolic rate of 0.01u/seconds and an overdose threshold of 20u. It may cause severe hallucinations at that threshold. Tramadol has the same rate of metabolism and potential for hallucinations but the overdose threshold is 30u. Tramadol is made by reacting Inaprovaline with Ethanol and Acetone. Oxycodone is a derivative of Tramadol by reacting with Ethanol and Phoron.

Another family of designer drugs are performance enhancers. They are the powerful yet addictive stimulant, Hyperzine and the robust painkiller Synaptizine. The former is capable of reducing drowsiness, hallucinations, stunning, weakened strength as well as any Mindbreaker Toxin in the subjects system. However it is quite toxic and has a low overdose threshold of 10u but the metabolism rate is very slow at 0.001u/second. Hyperzine on the other hand is metabolized a lot faster at 0.2u/second and has an overdose threshold of 30u making it quite safe. Each unit of hyperzine will have an overall action of 67 seconds regardless of metabolism, due to it's prodrug nature, and will significantly improve subject's speed and free them of any motor impairments in most cases. Hyperzine is produced by Sugar, Sulfur and Phosphorus, while Synaptizine is Lithium, Sugar and Water.

Mindbreaker Toxin can be quite dangerous and causes intense halluncinations, with reports of strange figures attacking them out of nowhere or even seeing a singularity coming towards them. The hallucinations are generally distressing to say the least. It is metabolized at a rate of 0.025u/second and has an overdose threshold of 30u. If the subject stays still for too long, they may be attacked by their hallucinations but it is all in their head. It can be readily made with Dylovene, Silicon and Hydrazine.

Mindbreaker Toxin can also be reacted with hydrazine to make Methylphenidate, which is used and often prescribed to help maintain focus and attention without any hallucinations, with a metabolic rate of 0.01u/seconds and no known overdose threshold.

[/i]Radium Phosphate Hydrochloride[/i] or commonly known as Unstable Mutagen is taken by some brave, or stupid, individuals and has a chance of causing either beneficial or disabling mutations.

Cryptobiolin, a common precursor for Spacecillin, is often abused due as a deliriant. It will cause visual shaking and confusion, where the subject will be unable to control the direction they walk. It has a metabolic rate of 0.05u/second and an overdose threshold of 30u. It is synthesized as Potassium Sucrose in an Acetone solution.

Reishi is a psychoactive Xenoflora containing psilocybin, which causes hallucinations though nowhere near as intense as Mindbreaker Toxin, and also significant shaking and slurring of speech, it is reasonably fast acting and so has a high metabolic rate. It is commonly referred to as "Reesh".

Liberty Caps are not actually psilocybin containing and actually have Soporific, so will just cause unconsciousness. Soporific has a metabolic rate of 0.05u/second and an overdose threshold of 30u, it's action is dose dependent as less than 5u will cause blurred vision and over 5u will cause the subject to fall asleep. Soporific can be made by dissolving 4 parts Sugar in 1 part Chloral Hydrate, another common sedative which is synthesized by 1 part Ethanol, 1 part Water and 3 parts Hydrochloric Acid.

Of course leaving best to last or atleast my particular favorite, Xenofloral strains of Ambrosia Vulgaris are known to contain narcotics and are commonly either smoked or injested. They are generally considered contraband but mutant strains such as the Omega may contain a great deal of medicinal compounds. However the standard ambro strain may cause minor toxin damage but this can be removed and the extract purified or even engineered out entirely. Undoubtably I am for the Legalization of Ambro for medical and recreational use.

In conclusion, this isn't an exhaustive compendium of psychoactive drugs but rather a starting point in the ongoing investigation of what drives people and the very diverse action they have on how we may perceive or behave in the very bizarre world we've found ourselves. Any chemical fluid may be injected, up to 15u, into a cigarette and consumed via inhalation as well as by syringe injection. Take everything in moderation and be safe out there, it's probably away to get a lot more colourful.



On the Origin of Slime

Xenobiological slime are all the rage in bioscience research, but where do they come from and more importantly, what are they even? Well I present a theory that these slimes are a primordial multicellular protozoa much akin to the myxamoeban slime mould. They are a missing link between early protozoa and more complex lifeforms.

They have a tough membrane which is highly sensitive to water, which is a later byproduct in atmospheric development. Internally they have a core or cores which are essentially macrovesicles for very diverse metabolic products. This key weakness should be exploited with a fire extinguisher, bucket, chemsprayer or even a freeze ray, as to render them dead and ready for their slime core to be extracted.

Presently there are 21 known types of slime, organized by colour and likelihood to mutate into the next. The colour is determined by proto-chlorophyll molecules that are evolved naturely to their indigenous homeworld's solar emissions as they refract through the early planet's atmosphere. The last common ancestor to all types, and perhaps all complex life is the grey slime. Grey slime cores will produce another slime if injected with phoron or will produce monkeycubes if injected with blood, making them foundational for all xenobiological research on slimekind.

This is naturally a gradual process but as they are commonly fed on more complex organisms such as the common lab monkey, they will mutate more frequently by random genetic uptake of haem genes rather than if they were just fed by traditional phagocytosis and pinocytosis of simple molecules in their primordial ooze.

They will divide and reproduce when sufficient biochemical resources are available within it's macrocytoplasmic internal structure. The diversity of digestive enzymes make being glomped highly dangerous, as it will attempt to absorb genes via nucleases and amino acids via proteases. Any prospective xenobiologist should keep some ryetalyn handy to fix any genetic damage caused by a rogue slime.

Slimes lack a central nervous system other than quorum-style signalling cascades but they are capable of being domesticated. This is likely by random chance if the proto-chlorophyll system senses it's environment when fed while an assistant is present. This is due to relaxing hormones which will prevent the glomp cascade, much like a pseudopodia inhibitor. The hormones make their membrane sensitive to sonic vibrations so simply saying hello to the slimes should make any inhibited slimes respond.

Sepia slime cores are known to produce a functional camera when injected with phoron and a useable photographic film when injected with blood. This is a prime example of the emergent complexities of the proto-chlorophyll system and the development of early sensory systems. The domestication process may be due to the slime almost literally photographing it's surrounding when fed to remember where is good for nutrition.

Many xenobiologists claim that slimes are intelligent and can speak but this is just an illusion or pareidolia caused by working in isolation for long periods of time. However it has been postulated that a rare mutation in the proto-chlorophyll system may result in a phoronic transmitter to bluespace. So that any perceivable intelligence is not local to the slime but rather a conscious bluespace entity interacting with the slime via bioelectromagnetic fields. The cognitive entity may not realise it is anything more than a slime and it poses serious questions to the neurosciences as to the dimensional origins of consciousness.

A great example of this Bluespace Consciousness Theory is the use of adamantine slime cores which form a kind of bionanotech trasmission array commonly called a "rune". This essentially draws forth an intelligent consciousness which shapes the core into a humanoid golem. Golems are very bizarre organisms which often phase entirely back into bluespace after a period of time but may generally be friendly and non-hostile.

Worth noting is the green slime core, which when injected with phoron can be re-extracted to the infamous slime mutation toxin. This toxin is highly dangerous as the spores dissolve and take over connective tissue causing a translucent epidermis. Eventually, the whole body is digested. However the only cells produced are macrocytoplasmic and not membrane producing, so death of both the host and the slime cells is inevitable with no known cure. An affected subject may not be in any pain as their nervous system is digested across their body, leaving the brain last due to the high salt and electrical nature. They may become insane due to the random nature of alkaloid biosynthesis and are recommended to be contained and kept comfortable until they eventually explode.

The more advanced toxin from black slime core is capable of producing a membrane and so will produce a viable grey slime once introduced to another living lifeform. The digestion of the host is incredibly rapid due to the vast expression of previously mentioned digestive enzymes.

Industrial exploitation of dark purple, metal slime and silver cores may prove to be highly profitable as they can be used to produce phoron crytals, metal sheets and foodd respectively. Most other slime cores may be dangerous to react, causing explosions (oil), EMPs (yellow), freezing areas (dark blue), enraging other slimes (red), and will likely cause more harm than any practical purpose but should be investigated and mastered scientifically as useful reagents may be produced as well.

Finally all forms of life may be produced via the gold slime cores, this may prove that the slime is infact the Last Universal Common Ancestor. Though be warned, not all life is friendly and much will incredibly hostile and highly dangerous. Further research into the gold slime may yield further advancements in not only how we organize the structure of the Tree of Life but ultimately gives us great insight into our own origins.

The protolathe is one of the most powerful tools in the scientist's arsenal. It should be treated with respect and care, access to it should be restricted to trained personnel only. This restriction also applies to lab assistants without express consent and supervision.

Lab assistants should familiarize themselves with the autolathe, maintain organization of research materials and also man the front desk, passing all requests to scientists unless a reasonable request from the autolathe. Training of assistants on the use of the protolathe is secondary to primary research being achieved.[br]

As research and the products of such are of immense value, it is protected by a Deconstructive Design Algorithm so that a trained Nanotrassen employee must unlock the corporate research database by printing and disassembling a cascade of technology. It is standard operating procedure to backup and wipe research after each shift as to prevent theft between staff transfer or in the event of an evacuation.[br]

All research staff may be liable if procedure is not followed as such and may face not only termination of employment but also criminal incarceration. Nanotrassen assumes no responsibility of any damages ensued by inproper use of the protolathe or any of the research machinery. Note should be taken that anything printed by mistake should be recycled in the autolathe rather than just deconstructed, failure to do so may result in responsible parties being fined as to the loss of materials which is tracked automatically.[br]

Now that regulatory issues have been addressed, to begin unlocking the DDA, it is advised to assemble a flamethrower. All that is needed is to attach a metal rod to an unscrewed welding tool as far as the Deconstructive Analyzer is concerned. This will provide Phoron 2 and Combat 2. The metal rod can be printed by the autolathe, a hemostat should also be printed to provide Biotech 2. An Analyzer should be taken from tool storage for Engineering 2 or a multitool may be better used, also printed from the autolathe. A bluespace tracking beacon and pAI can be printed from the protolathe and deconstructed.[br]

A basic power cell then a high-capacity cell, will allow 3 super-capacity cells to be printed and all deconstructed. This will maximize power research at 6 til materials.[br]

After the hemostat, print and deconstruct a PANDEMIC board from the circuit printer and then a clone pod board. Then a subspace receiver and 3 Durand weapon control boards. The Durand boards will maximize combat research at 5 just as power research.

While the subspace board will unlock a relay mainframe and then telepad board.[br]

Optical Meson goggles, a mining drill, an advanced scanning mod, an advanced reagent scanner, a nano-manipulator, nanopaste, an experimental welder and lastly a pico-manipulator, will all help achieve the self-sufficient maximum research levels.[br]

The protolathe can then be upgraded via a Rapid Parts Exchanger with 2 supermatter bins and 2 picomanipulators. This will increase material use efficiency and printing time.[br]

The book is initially incomprehensible, it requires an "initiated" to create a rune of sorts on the ground of which may be stood on and voice activated. Upon proper activation, a reaction of iron salts and a new hypothetical Redspace will genetically lock the subject as initiated.[br]

Further examination will reveal advanced geometric calculations not too dissimilar from that used in telescience. The mathematical systems described are capable of producing effects via similar reactions to the initiation process. These effects include Remote Viewing, Telepathy,Force Fields, Reanimation, Materialization, and Communion with the Local Deceased.[br]

There is a sinister sense of foreboding that comes from this work but it is heavily masked by excitement and a need to push further, a new paradigm in science may follow from continued study.

This research project was sanctioned on behalf of [REDACTED], [REDACTED], for the purposes of [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. The following process should be only followed in the event of [REDACTED] and with express permission from the offices of [REDACTED]. May we only find mercy in the cold void of space for what we have done.[br]

An integrated electronic implant must be made up which can detect burn and suffocation damage, and upon detection dermaline, inaprovaline and or tricord will be administered slowly to the subject. A unit of potassium chlorophoride may also be administered if subject is unruly, it will act as a powerful paralytic but may in itself cause suffocation as it acts on the intercostal muscles and may inhibit breathing. Dexalin plus may be administered as to prevent this suffocation. A death switch may be incorporated to the implant, as to make it a last resort torture technique where the pain may be ended if they give up information.[br]

A large (or small) phoronic napalm grenade must also be assembled. In one beaker 1/3 sulphuric acid and 1/6 aluminium, while the other has 1/3 phoron and 1/6 aluminium. A careful balance should be found where the implant slows down or even inhibits the burning damage, this can derived from metabolic data. A large grenade is only preferable in a large chamber with multiple subjects, in a small contained environment the napalm will burn for a very long time.[br]

The subject is confined to the test chamber where the grenade is primed and allowed to perpetuate the napalm reaction within the chamber. So that the subject begins to incinerate, the implant should then maintain life until all reagents have been consumed and subject is allowed to expire. [br]

Sustainable Phoron Farming

A Treatise on Vaurcan Agricultural Techniques

The insectoid species known as the Vaurca are an incredibly robust organism. They survive on phoron they acquire through the digestion of K'ois fruit, which is a heavily evolved and engineered staple food plant for them. It also contains 6u of liquid phoron when blended, which can be useful in the production of dexalin, peridaxon, phoronic napalm, and many other incredibly useful chemical preparations.

Now they are known to produce large amounts of the bioluminiscent fruit in quite small spaces, and this is due to how little space they need. Multiple k'ois plants may be planted on the same space just about anywhere.

After speaking with Ka'Akaix'Ziim Zo'ra, when I followed the distinct glow of the k'ois down a maintenance tunnel, I observed the pattern of planting and harvesting their crop. They planted from a center point and spiraled out, often planting a few fruit on the same position. Then once it rapidly grew to fruitation, they gathered from the center all the adjacent fruit, and began the next crop.

They had rather quickly produced a significant amount of the k'ois fruit, enough to feed all the vaurca onboard. This technique could be used for the rapid production of industrial amounts of phoron for pharmaceutical preparations.

Now this could be solidified also with frost oil, from mutant chilli peppers treated with radium phosphate in a hydrochloric acid solution. Which means it could be used in generators and as a power supply, as well as the chemical applications of the liquid.

In conclusion, the reappropriation of the k'ois plant or mutant variations of may be of great financial, industrial and scientific use. Vaurcan xenobotanists could be of vital importance to our continued exploitation of this very underappreciated resource.
