TG_Griffin
BYOND Key: TG_Griffin Character Names: Tigo Arze, Aisha El-Kabir, Kharzin Prrulvorrvich and Elzurus Sesk are who I play the most. Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Ta'Akaix' Xakt'yagz'isk Zo'ra Unbound: RGB 91, 31, 0 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I seriously love this race, perhaps more than any other and I think it is a shame that you don’t see many of them around the station. This is partially why i’d like to play one, to promote the species and add to their population. What really stands out to me however is their caste structure, as one of those mud-dwelling insect lovers the chance to play a species which is heavily inspired by many real life insect examples as well as famous fantasy insectoid creatures (Like the prawns from District 9) is not something i’d pass up. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The Vaurca are as far from humans as you could possibly get, with the exception of the Diona. Vaurca, to start are a carapaced insectoid race. They act in a similar manner to ants, bees or termites in that they have different castes which each perform distinct roles. Warriors fight, defend and guard the hive. Workers as the name suggests do everything from building to cooking. Breeders, queens and subqueens keep the Vaurca population growing with the latter ruling over their respective hives. Another large difference between humans and Vaurca is their exposure to and reliance on VR. Something that is a vital part of their lives and potential afterlife. Character Name: Ka’Akaix’Tikk Zo’ra Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Ka’Akaix’Tikk Zo’ra’s life began as most unbound begin their life. From the moment it was laid as one of Ta'Akaix' Xakt'yagz'isk Zo'ra’s brood it was destined to become an Akaix worker. After spending six months in one of the hives expansive nursery chambers, its brain had developed enough to be implanted with the neural socket. From there it underwent a further six month transition where knowledge of the hive and its culture was directly fed into its brain. As with most unbound who are a part of Ta'Akaix' Xakt'yagz'isk Zo'ra’s brood, Ka’Akaix’Tikk Zo’ra joined the ranks of its fellow Vaurca in their queens VR once fully matured. They were tasked with the ever important and seemingly endless project of constructing, examining and reviewing both ancient and modern schematics. Each project had a goal, in accordance to the Queens primary objective, to improve or build upon the Vaurca’s current technology and find a way to better industrialize their new home. As such, Ka’Akaix’Tikk Zo’ra found itself with a large group of unbound working on various innovations used to aid in the growing, nurturing and cultivation of exotic flora, specifically in an attempt to find a way to improve upon the K’ois harvest that is so prevalent on their world of Luthien. This role fit Tikk perfectly as, like with many of its hive, it had an invested interest in taking apart objects in order to discover how they tick, often holding a few of its own side projects when not working with the others. One of Tikk’s pursuits that brought it particular joy was its work on minor atmospheric management devices, which it would pour countless hours of it’s free time into. It hoped that with this contraption it could improve the overall quality of life for unbound within the Bio-domes of Luthien. As with all the lesser queens of Zo’ra, and their broods, Ta'Akaix' Xakt'yagz'isk Zo'ra had made multiple deals with NanoTransen in the form of tithes in exchange for their place on Luthien. When the time came for payment, Ka’Akaix’Tikk Zo’ra was one of the many to be shuttled off to NanoTranen’s orbital facilities to join the workforce. Tikk itself was part of the small contingent of laborers sent to the NSS Aurora and was taken on as an Engineering apprentice due to its experience with machinery in the past. What do you like about this character? Tikk is a simple character, though by all means not bland. I enjoy the fact that it’s a character doesn’t have to have a backstory filled with conflict and heroics, but you still get the depth of character you wouldn’t see in a bound. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I’ve got experience in multiple races now on Aurora and across multiple different roleplay platforms. That doesn’t mean I know what i’m doing though and i’ll happily admit I have much to learn! So 7/10. Notes: Feedback is appreciated! Link to comment
