Sebbe
BYOND Key: Sebbe9123 Character Names: Fenrir Lokison - Botanist. Sebbe Gondolin - Research mainly Xenobiology (Not implemented yet since i'm testing the waters as a botanist first.) Species you are applying to play: Diona/Dionaea What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Exempt Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, I have read and mostly enjoyed the lore section on the Dionaea. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to play as a Diona (I'll refer to it as Diona so i wont make as many spelling mistakes.) because the race interests me and it fits my play-style. Being able to ask questions about everything and having time to think about how i should answer questions. I also want to play this race because i feel like while playing and expanding my character i can help to add to the role-play on the server and maybe add some text to the lore (If you like my ideas of course. i feel like based on the paragraph about the ship shooting on the "inactive Diona ship" with little to no effect, that a war species or at least a military faction would have an interest in replicating a ship like this.) Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I would say that a human and a Dionae are almost nothing alike, everything from the biology of a diona to the biology and mindset of a dionae gestalt. I imagine a freshly harvested(?) diona would scour around the station/ship observing the lifeforms and learning from their behavior and actions, stealing blood samples and gathering an interest in their work and characters while trying to find other nymphs or gestalts to merge with. Meanwhile i imagine a gestalt would do more or less the same unless assigned to a project or have catched an interest in something. I also imagine a dionae takes some time talking and answering questions as they area collection not a single mind. Character Name: A cosmic wind upon leaves Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs A cosmic wind upon leaves was sprouted aboard a Unathi slaver ship as one of many subjects to a secret project on making Cheap, fast and self-repairing ships. A cosmic wind upon leaves was locked in a small dark room with other nymphs with the assumption that they would automatically merge and become bigger forms, this however did not happen as the diona started to die because of the lack of light. One by one the nymphs died, the other nymphs scrambling for the nutrition in the dead nymphs to survive until only one nymph remained. When the Unathi deemed the project a failure based on only A cosmic wind upon leaves being the only surviving nymph with no signs of merging with other nymphs or any signs of other nymphs in the room at all, The Unathi decided to "just throw the damn thing in the trash chute." After a short trip through the pneumatic pipes it finally arrived in the lowest level of the ship, the trash room where slaves lived and ate whatever edible that they came across. The slaves scurrying quickly for food searched rapidly through the trash when one of the human slaves came across A cosmic wind upon leaves, the human (to the other slaves dismay and anger) claimed the "Weird cat-sized monster" was not food, One of the almost starved Tajaran slaves attacked the human witch cost it its life when the human quickly broke its windpipe. The other slaves not wanting to risk their life took whatever they could find in the trash and scampered to their corners. The human and nymph would grow close over the next few weeks. One day the slave ship got attacked and a stray phoron torpedo breached one of the walls down in the trash room quickly depressurizing it, the human with the last of its strength kicked a hole and squeezed the nymph into the ventilation shafts. The nymph being ordered by the human to "find a room with humans dressed in blue." The nymph scampering as quickly as it could through the vents fell through a ventilation hatch that was shooked lose in in the explosions during the battle and fell hitting the ground hard. The nymph would later come too inside a brightly lit medical room aboard a Nanotrasen ship. The nymph, according to the medical staff, seemed affectionate towards humans and avoided dark areas, as well as cramped spaces, The nymph also showed signs of hesitation around Unathi crew. A picture was later taken of the Nymph before it merged with other nymphs to a gestalt. https://camo.githubusercontent.com/8b2e845a8d607a5024b568021b4f55b00a23599d/687474703a2f2f692e696d6775722e636f6d2f4b76704859776a2e6a7067 What do you like about this character? Well for one i wrote the backstory. But with what we learn in this backstory we can understand some of its mentality and actions it might do while stationed on the station, the character also has some deep mental scars (That might have been eased with the merging of other nymphs) that will affect it in interactions and its behavior. I can imagine my character has a hard time working with an Unathi or my character will avoid going into the dark cramped maintenance tunnels. I also like that to Unathi player and Human players my characters behavior towards them will seem weird and maybe a bit rude, But as always no one reacts the same way about the same thing. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10 Im not new to RP but i would not say im perfect. Notes: Link to comment
ajstorey456
There's a strange jump in the backstory between the ventilation shaft and being on a NanoTrasen ship that I don't understand, and your grammar is a bit wonky, but otherwise you seem comprehensible enough to handle the role of a diona crewmember. I like the idea of your progression as a nymph and your origin, even if it's more likely for a NanoTrasen crew member to also shove you in a disposal shoot half the time A little bit of work can be done, but other than the little odd mistakes, +1 from me. SleepyWolf
I very much enjoy this story, and I feel you can handle the whitelist, easily. You show capability to create a well-crafted character so far, and have asked questions to me, so I am absolutely willing to give this whitelist. Enjoy! Link to comment
