  1. I have been summoned from retirement to join this gathering of old men I’ve popped in and out of Aurora a few times over the years and I’m constantly amazed at the work this community has done to produce an active, engaging, and shockingly polished version of something we struggled to envision almost a decade ago now! No community is without its issues but never in my life did I expect this child of Apollo discontent to last until now, and so strong.
  2. I rarely ever do this, but I'm going to have to give this a -1. My experience with Lynsey within security has been round-ruining. Every round has been a mad dash to get assigned to the HoS position through the HoP, regardless of the views of security. Your roleplay has been subpar, often ending with one or multiple players unsatisfied with their interactions with you. At least one of those times has involved admin interference and no short amount of salt from involved parties (not entirely your fault of course, but you did nothing to prevent further escalation of any situations). I think that before you're granted access to a vital role like Head of Security, you need to improve on two things: first, proper roleplay, because even though security are robust and protectors of the crew and all that, you've often done things outside the proper chain of command and with disregard to realistic interaction to further your own role; second, you need to understand to play with others in a way that benefits everyone. Working in security, just like the rest of Aurora, should be fun and interesting, and nobody should ever be left feeling as though they've been cheated or has their round ruined because you love the HoS position so much. Edit: it looks like you just recently made another whitelist app and got a few -1's. Did you make this one to hide that or was there an issue with the first app?

  5. I did in my informative, yet sadly deleted, post. Save all your posts from now on I won't put in my 2 cents on all this because everyone will hit me with the "things have changed since you were around" but I thoroughly enjoyed and mostly agreed with what you had to say

  11. See, this is good. Give people a chance to discuss their warnings rather than try to fault the moderator.
  12. I know policy has changed quite a bit around here since I've left but I heard about this and thought I might add my ol' two cents. Admins get busy. Really busy. When people start to make a fuss in game, they clean it up. But when these people take it to the forums, too, it's hard for them to stop what they're doing in the game and clean that up too. That's what forum moderators exist, to keep the administrative process flowing smoothly. It seems to me that if a backlog of complaints is building up, someone isn't doing their job right. And if I were an admin, and things were filling up, and I was too busy to keep an eye on them and handle them, I'd sure as hell want someone to help me out. I completely understand the frustration of being warned a long period of time after something occurred. Opinions change and emotions cool and suddenly what you did doesn't carry much weight anymore. But if it's something you should be warned for, you should be warned, to prevent further mistakes. If it happens a month later, then you had a month too cool down before learning what was wrong. But if it took a month, someone's not paying enough attention. I don't see what Xander did as any error or misjudgment of his duties. I believe he's gone above and beyond what was expected of him to fill a gap someone else left.
