I am mostly speaking of IC point of view, not mechanical. Using cryo for evacuation would be impractical, while using a gateway would be ridiculously easy, and thus making shuttles absolutely useless.

I don't suppose ICwise, cryo pods get immediately launched out of Aurora, but instead, stored within the station itself for the cleanup crew... Thus, making it a tad dangerous.

What stops people from evacuating through the gateway, when shit hits the fan, instead of trying their hardest to call the shuttle though?

Do you know why we keep mentioning Lifeweb? It is because we experienced it already on a Byond game. One that is made to make you suffer. We -know- how annoying miasma is, how it adds nothing good in a roleplaying enviroment, only to be a very irritating distraction. And things don't even rot that quick. Then again, I keep repeating myself, throwing words into a bottomless pit with absolutely no avail

In dwarf fortress, in game it takes quite a while for miasma to spread. An in game year, can be done in several hours of IRL time. And even with such a lore explanation, I find it kind of a forced idea (that I still don't think it would make sense in a sophisticated SciFi setting). Then again, we already have mild burns, that progress into deadly infections in a matter of minutes. And as Delta already mentioned, this mechanic in Lifeweb is rather obnoxious.

Poorly named BestRP had this mechanic, when you'd slip on fresh blood. Although at times annoying, it did bring some hilarious moments.

Lifeweb has a lore reason for the ridiculously quick rotting... Does a normal not-grimderp setting have a one? I think not.

On a serious note, as much as I like some of those ideas, I do think we already have more than enough races available. Oh, and you mentioned that the VIs can drag items? HOW?

Part of this sounds like my ideas, but with a lot more thought to it. I like it. I love playing as a chaplain. And recruiting acolytes to bite the cult back would be neat. Then again, cult needs more teeth too.

Sollution? Nerf antags even more... Actually, delete antags, that way you'd be the most robust person on the server :^) But really, Sue, you're no saint either.. Especially as a HoS...
