One thing I'd like to note about permadeath, and people not liking it, I used to roleplay in Warcraft previously, a private roleplaying server, where, while yes, combat mechanics were replaced completely by emoting, but EVERY death was final, canon, and they were common, due to the nature of the world, which is halfway fucked. Sure, there were no death by griff, but each event had a huge chance of characters who have been developed for years, as there were no such things as ''non-canon rounds'', with VERY little chance of returning (resurection was still a thing in the lore, but was VERY rare) Either way, what I am trying to say, is to try to understand, that death should be taken seriously, instead of ''lawl, he ded, we can clone him''

Yes.. Meaningful deaths are something that I long for. Deaths that would make the close ones traumatized.. And that would possibly give more work to the chaplains.

Hartam knew, that these people meant business, but his code of honor, to try and protect those that need that, as well as the belief, that his faith gives him strength, as well as protection, insisted that he'd do what he can to try and stop those people. The first try was unsuccessful, he was captured for a short while, had his relic stolen, and was released. He came back, in order to try and retrieve his relic. He was tased, and had his leg cut off. And yet still, he decided to go on, even after being put to a wheelchair, as one of the virtues that he, and the other followers of his religion, values the most, is tenacity, determination.. To keep trying to do what he believes in, no matter how many times he fails. If I had not done that, I would have failed to play my character's personality, as I've set it when I created him. And no, I did not expect to win anything. What I did expect, was some sort of a stand-off, even if I had expected to be shot immediately after being noticed with the bat in hand.

1. I am willing, though I am usually wilted away at playing chaplain by seeing how ignored they usually are. 2. I like him. Compasionate, knowing medicine, and honorable. He was quite helpful there in medbay... And I am pretty sure that he would probably go along well with Hartam

Well, as a person who was one of the first crewmembers to interact with the character, I can say, that she has made her character to be a refugee from Adomai, on the run from rebels and such. We took her for treatment, and she gave away her weapons to the captain. Eventually, Wesley trusted her enough to let her work and such. Anyways. She did make some quite nice RP, despite the constant explody expectations (that one of the ops have fulfilled), and was quite a nice change for a nuke round.

NanoTrasen already hires characters with space pirate backgrounds, as far as I could see. And no, Hartam does not have a background of being violent, but he has strong ideals for that he would stand his ground for. And the relic, is to be piece of an item carried by the religion's founder. Either way, it was not only the item that sent him to a zealous rage. It was also the murder and the decapitations. The theft was only the last straw, and being a man, roughly trained in mellee combat (Monastic order etc.etc.), and also valuing self-sacrifice for fighting what's right, he charged in, just like that. And his most formidable quality was his determination. Either way, I don't think that this conversation will go very far, if we continue to repeat exactly the same things. How about we get someone else's opinion here? Like a staff member's?

Right. So let's get this straight. First off, I do agree that I rambo'd, and this is one of actually very few characters that I face problems head-on. Anyways, being a lawfully stupid character, and a paladin port from another game, this character was quite enraged by the murders and decapitations the ops did. He found it as his duty to at least give his best, in order to stop this, as the security force was completely curbed. Now.. You say that I fail to RP, yet I actually bothered writing my emotes, up until you tased the first time, while I was mid-of it. But I was completely fine with that, as my character did show intent to harm the ops. Nonetheless, I got released, after getting a holy relic stolen (which has gotten Hartam fanatically enraged), immediately got back, and get tased again. And while you are speaking of ''most of his limbs'', it was actually a single leg.. I roleplayed pain, and was immediately pumped with painkillers, and put into a wheelchair. My character, being what he is, and following one of the virtues he preaches, which is Tenacity, charged in one last time. I emoted having a metal bat in my hand, and yet you still walked into mellee range and retaliated in beating you up. Being completely fanatical about getting his relic back, he did not care for cover, and just continued on attacking. ;TDLR, my fanatical priest character had a perfectly good reason for it So please, stop telling me how to role-play my characters.

In my opinion, the recorders right now, are rather limited. Would be very nice, that you could have a similar interface with PDA, where you could play different entries, instead of playing everything you've recorded so far. If that is impossible, then an alternative to that, could be audio logs, that could be created by a recorder similarly to transcripts, and that could be played via PDA or the recorder itself.. Thoughts?
