Okay, well... SilverTalisman is an amazing player, and I have known them for nearly my entire time on Aurora. They can get done what needs to be done and they have an extremely positive and inviting attitude. Despite usually staying away from applications, I have to give this a +1. -

Age: 16 Timezone: Eastern Standard Time When are you on Aurora?: My times online vary, but you can find me on the server any time around 12 PM to 9 PM or online on a messenger service almost all day. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Almost two years now. How long have you played on Aurora: A few months, maybe about a half year or so? How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Quite a bit, I spend a lot of time trying to find out new things with the code and game mechanics. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes, I was a Moderator and Administrator on Apollo for a while. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 to have a fun time roleplaying with other people and to have fun interacting with others. Why do you play on Aurora?: I'm here for the Heavy Roleplay, which is actually enforced here which is not something you find on all servers. What do moderators do?: Moderators are, simply put, there to moderate the server and keep it from being engulfed in flames. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Being a mod here means one must enforce the heavy roleplay and the rules and one must stay under control whilst handling situations. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to be a moderator for a few reasons, actually. I want to make sure that everyone on the server is happy, primarily. Doing this requires active staff to take care of ahelps and in-game issues, and there's not always staff online to take care of these issues. I want to be a moderator so that I may also help new players learn proper roleplay and game mechanics so that they feel like they are welcome to the server. Lastly, I want to be a moderator simply to help people out. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I can talk to other people without becoming upset with them, I consider myself to be pretty good at helping other people out, and I have a fairly good sense of leadership. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Fairly well, although I will admit that sometimes I can lose my cool. Anything Else You Want to Add: My time on Aurora has honestly been the best experience I've had playing SS13, and I want to thank everyone, staff and the general community.

In GMT: Around 8.00 PM to 2.00 AM on weekdays, around 4.00 PM to 3.00 AM on weekends. Why do you want to be a Duty Officer? I feel like being a Duty Officer would add a new, fun, and interesting element into the game for me. Along with that, I think that it would be fun and interesting to interact with the crew in a different way. How well can you handle stress? Fairly well, due to the fact that I am, most of the time, stressed. It's not really that different for me when I have a lot of stress on me compared to when I don't have a lot of stress on me. What does it mean to be a Duty Officer? Being a duty officer means, for one, dealing with issues that arise on the NSS Aurora. It means replying to faxes and keeping a certain situation under control and keeping it from elevating to a certain point. It also means dealing with things such as incident reports and other IC issues. Anything else to add? Nope.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to play as a Skrell considering how interesting they are. Their biology, more specifically their reproductive system, intrigues me. The fact that their head tails, NOT TENTACLES, are what's used, and the fact that they're born in groups can make for interesting scenarios and backstories for characters, perhaps having them as the run of their siblings or perhaps a lone survivor. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, the slurring is one thing, along with the fact that you can't just eat anything you find, unlike you could if you were a human. You have to be more careful about what is you choose to eat, and I'd also assume that you'd need to be a little bit more passive than if you were, say, a human. Along with the both of these, Skrell are different with showing their emotion, which could add interesting roleplay as one. Character Names: Vlasiin and Senaki Klovern Please provide a short backstory for these characters, approximately 2 paragraphs Vlasiin Klovern was born on the planet Qerrbalak, and was one of four to survive to adulthood. She spent the majority of her as a young girl running about and playing with her siblings, most notably her sister, Senaki. Vlasiin was a good child, always doing as she was instructed and always doing as much as she could to help out other people. Senaki, on the other hand, often spent her time doing what would benefit herself and her sister. Vlasiin spent most of her childhood looking up to Senaki, using her as a role model, doing some of the things she did. When she was around age seven, however, she began to change and act her own way. She would often make sacrifices for other people, giving up the things that would give her happiness, however, she found happiness from doing this. The more she began to commit to selfless acts, and the more Senaki began to commit to selfish acts, the more they grew apart. The Klovern sisters both went to school, one of them finishing with an Engineering degree, the other with a degree in pharmaceuticals. After nearly ten years of not seeing each other at all, they both find themselves working with one another on the NSS Aurora. Vlasiin is a well-respected, hard-working employee, and Senaki is still a selfish person, whom will take the easy way out whenever possible. However, financial issues have come up with Senaki, causing her to begin desperately looking for help, from anybody that will give help... What do you like about these characters? Their differences. They are practically polar opposites, Vlasiin being the much-loved, kind, and hard working twin, Senaki is rude, not very much liked, and she always tries to find the easy way out of things. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Honestly speaking, I'd give myself a 6/10, maybe a 7/10. Notes: we need more jelly people gawsh dangit. Also, I apologize for the crappy, boring backstory, I don't want them to be 2edgy4u, and I suck at writing. Also, I am aware that it was supposed to just be one character I apply for for the alien whitelist, but I just love both of them so much, and I couldn't choose between them.

Okay, so, I'm going to point a few things out.. I honestly haven't seen you once, so I have zero clue about your role play ability or your competence in game. I would also like to point out the fact that your grammar is not really the best, and I (personally) think that proper English is something that a head of staff needs. I'm not going to +1 or -1 until I have seen you in game for myself. -
Ckey/BYOND Username: SilentNight195 Position Being Applied For (coder, mapper, spriter): Mapper/Coder Past Experiences/Knowledge: Work on the land map for Aurora and a little bit of remapping I've done just for fun. I also have very minor coding experience and a simple understanding of how it works. Examples of Past Work: All I have to show that is my own personal work is my variations of areas on the land map. Crime Lab, Detective's Office, and Morgue: Medbay (Areas changed include the recovery room, surgery observation, cryo pods, sleepers and body scanner (those were mostly Witt), and the break room): Atmospherics: No coding examples. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): Steam, Skype or TeamSpeak. Additional Comments: I love to map, but I will admit that I can slack a bit. But I always manage to get what needs to be done, done. I'm also trying to teach myself DM code so that I can get a better understanding of things, and perhaps offer more help. I know that someone with basic coding experience probably is not what is being looked for, but I do think that in becoming a coder, my knowledge of coding could be expanded and I may end up being more of a help. One thing I'm pretty sure I could handle is custom items. Items don't really seem to be an issue for me coding-wise.

Names in red are indefinite mentors. Word has not been heard from them or they are unsure if they wish to participate. The Process Step One: Application and Assigning A player applying for Head of Staff whitelist, or a current head of staff wishing to expand their horizons as a head will be assigned a mentor. Either by the mentor organizers, or by a dibs system where the first mentor that is signed on for said Head is given the job. A mentor should only take on an application if they are free to mentor within a reasonable timeframe. The mentor should post on the application that they have taken/claimed the applicant for the process, and also make contact via forum PMs to introduce themselves to their new student. Step Two: The Mentoring The mentor and their student will arrange several playing times over the course of three days. The mentor will join as the relevant Head position, and (if not already in one of these positions) immediately contact the Head of Personnel or Captain to inform them that you will be taking on [student's character name] as your assistant as part of the NanoTrasen Command Introduction Program. If the Captain or Head of Personnel tries to deny you, reference them the application of your student in LOOC. ONLY contact the administration as a last resort to have your student assigned. While mentoring, you should ensure that your student knows all, or a vast majority of the department, that they understand how a Head of Staff should conduct themselves ICly and OOCly, and that they are able to emotionally undertake the stress that comes with serving as a whitelisted individual. To accomplish this, it is recommended that you give them some leash, allow them to supervise a section of the department, permit them to take over the entire department while you take breaks, and encourage them to partake in discussion and decision making on the command channel. Make sure you allow them to MAKE mistakes, and be sure to correct them afterwards. They must make mistakes if they are to learn from their mistakes. Step Three: Process Completion and Administration Report After the in-game mentor process has been completed, you are to contact the relevant administration staff (currently TishinaStalker and Aqy) with a report on your student's conduct, and whether or not you think they are ready for a Head of Staff position. This WILL impact their chances of being accepted or denied, bias is not allowed here, if you fail to provide credible reports, you will be removed from the mentoring program. You should also be sure to comment on the application stating you have completed your mentorship Please use the format provided when contacting the administration staff, to ensure they have a neat and organized report. Limit how long Admins can delay a round's end.

This is honestly not a good idea, at all. Admins need to take their time, and by adding a time limit, you're causing them to feel like they have to rush through it, leaving it sloppy and making the chances of a mistake greater. I am completely against this. New players can just observe, become mice or drones, or just wait. -
Right, I'm going to start off by saying I haven't had nearly as much interaction with nursie, more specifically Phoebe, as I would have liked to, meaning I think that most of my characters would get along with Phoebe very well. Anyways, from The interaction I have had with nursie, I very much that she is more than capable of handling a head of staff position. I fully endorse this application.
