  1. Heh, I was fairly uninspired with the back story as I was writing, so I will probably expand more later, but i'm glad that I have your support!
  2. (This is a work in progress, and I am open to criticism!) BYOND Key: Shamiel Character Names: Ripley Giger How long have you been playing on Aurora: I believe since last Christmas, perhaps a little before. Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Light Blue. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Well, I've been thoroughly interested in the Skrell for a long time now, and i'm interested in their high-tech based society and their general way of life. I enjoy how their anatomy has some similarities to humanity, but more amphibious with some interesting body features. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: How they can breathe underwater, how they have no teeth and only hard gums, making them only able to eat soft foods and liquids, as well as not being able to digest meats. Another interesting thing that I like about them is how they can absorb liquids through their skin. Character Name: Soju Niv'ku Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Being born in a Skrellian space colony, Soju was raised by a two Skrellian chemists, making a living off of developing new medicines and potent anesthetics. Soju was a very socially inept and closed off individual, spending most of her time secluded and learning about different cultures and ethnicities, and gathering general knowledge about anything she could get her hands on. When Soju reached adolescence, she became more and more interested in her parents work, and with her new found passion, she began to spend all of her time working with chemicals. As she reached young adulthood, she set off to find better work in the vast Solar System, and soon became entranced by the NanoTrasen workforce, soon making her way to the next employment center to begin the next chapter of her life. What do you like about this character? I like how she is very interested in chemicals, and how dedicated she is to get her job done. I feel she could be very beneficial to the Medical team, developing medicines and help get those prescriptions out the door, since it is always good to have a competent Chemist (which sometimes there is a lack of). How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10 Notes: Like I said before, I am open to criticism!
  3. The wimpy asthma thing was just a joke, I chose having a cosmic radiation induced problem to her lungs since it made fairly good sense if she was born in space near a star. Anyways, to the inhaler, i'm fine with there being no medicine.
  4. Could probably add a little function for her to use it, if you like? 'X takes a puff from the inhaler.' I'd like it to be usable, if possible!
  5. Thank's! I'm glad Ripley has made some good impressions from her limited time being on the station, and i'm still currently fleshing her out, but i'm glad most people enjoy her presence!
  6. Well, asthma was a little too "wimpy", so I gave her a a cosmic radiation induced wound.
  7. BYOND Key: Shamiel Character name: Ripley Giger Item name: Ripley's Inhaler Why is your character carrying said item to work? She has a special lung condition (Space born as a child, exposed to cosmic radiation, damaged lungs, yada-yada), requiring her to use an inhaler to keep her at ease in stressful situations. Item function(s): Nothing really, just for role-play value. Item description: An average red plastic inhaler. Item appearance: Y'know, a red inhaler, no more and no less. Additional comments: I could just role-play without it, just pretending it's there (which I have done before), which i'm perfectly okay with, I just thought it would be neat to have a material item to carry with me in my lab-coat or pocket, to help further my wheezing and nervously stuttering character get through her work shift a-okay!
  8. Just a thought, if it's the 2400's, why do you need rockets on your wheelchair if they have already developed anti-gravity technology? Wouldn't that mean you could just get a hover-chair instead?
  9. I think all is well in this application, since I have played and constructed Zephyr its cyborg form numerous times (good times), you have my support on this one!
  10. Looks pretty good, my only recommendation is that you extend the length of the back story, since it seems kinda short in my eyes, but you have a +1 from me!
  11. Very interesting, I find it quite nice that someone else is making a faction that is not a Human Supremacist based faction, and is doing something a little more different, you have my full support on this one, and I would most definitely make a character from here, to run alongside my Martian characters.
  12. We can apply to make Custom Chassis? Quite interesting, I may just have to make one myself if it is possible, considering I only like three of the current chassis, but you have my full support on this one, since I believe I have seen HELIX before, and you seem to know what you're doing and are quite a competent roleplayer.
  13. How long does it normally take for these to get processing/accepted/denied? Mine has been up for a while, and I know a lot of others have been as well (I believe one of Vittorio's is still up), and I just want to know the general time these stay up for.
  14. Isn't there already lore for all the countries on Earth? I could be wrong, Since I haven't exactly delved in to the Earthen Lore on Aurora.
  15. I really enjoy that idea, And you have been giving very good constructive criticism, And I believe I will add the underground tunnel systems.
  16. Alright, I will probably scrap the Eskimo based culture on Mars then, And I will work on fleshing out the Nobles, If not scrapping them as well, And I appreciate the criticism. EDIT: Scraped the Eskimo culture and the Nobles, Still kept the "Ritualistic/Tribal/Nomadic" aspect in the Terra-formed regions, Just made them dome covered, And made the pole dwellers more advanced dome dwellers.
  17. I'm not offended, I'm just trying to clear any questions up that anyone might have, And I do appreciate any criticism.
  18. They are not specifically Eskimos and North Africans, They just have adapted their culture to fit their environment, Like their Earthen counterparts. So to answer you question, They are not actual Eskimos and North African people, It's just their adapted culture.
  19. Yes, I saw that Mars was a pretty untapped area lore wise, or at least from what I saw, So I thought i'd give it a go!
  20. (Open to criticism, This is my interpretation of Mars, Since the lore for Mars only consists of one sentence). Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Faction, More specifically a Province on Mars. Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable): July 7th, 2386 Region of Space: Sol Controlled by (if not a faction): Djor Abdussalam Other Snapshot information: - Controls a semi-large portion of Desert, Poles, and Terra-formed areas on Mars - Terra-formed and Desert regions predominately Arabic-Martian, while the pole dwellers are Germanic-Martian, Yet still physically Arabic looking. - People typically live longer than people on Earth, Due to the lower gravity on Mars, Providing less wear and tear on the organs. - Earth like middle eastern architecture in the desert, and dome covered North African architecture in the Terra-formed regions. - The Terra-formed areas that they control have the consistency of the Earthen African plains. - Connected by underground tunnels for rapid trading and general transportation between the Colonies. Long Description: Descended from the early migrants of Mars, Branched off in to different sectors, Have united in order to protect themselves from larger and more dangerous Provinces, While also making archaeological advancements on the abandoned settlements. The desert region is scattered with Merchants and Scavenger colonies, While the settlers in the Poles and Terra-Formed regions mainly live in a more secluded society. Their mission is to unite the rest of the Martian provinces under one banner, And to reissue Mars as a respectable planet in the Sol Alliance, And to return it to its former glory when it was in the Hay-Day of it's colonization. Society in the Province is mainly consistent of Scavenging and searching for rare Archaeological artifacts in the ancient colonies. Most of the scavengers search for rare minerals in the mines, or gathering metal and other industrial necessities, while others venture out far and wide in search of new colonies to found, and stake a claim on the landscape. Most civilians live in colonies of abodes made of the Carbon and Iron enriched soil, Or in underground colonies. Jobs in the desert regions mainly consist of Mining, Refining, Construction, and Archaeology. The more Secluded settlements in the Terra-Formed and Pole regions mainly live in secure dome colonies. The Terra-Formed dwellers have a more North African based culture, Most related to the old earthen Tuareg, While working mainly on Smithing, Animal Husbandry, and Pottery. Their traditional garments consists of layered rags and robes, gas masks, and general lightweight clothing. The Pole Dwellers are by far the most technologically advanced of the Province, Focusing mainly on Research, Scientific Developments, Blue-space Research, and Celestial Mapping.
  21. I think over all this looks pretty well put together, And you seem like a good candidate to be a Captain.
