  1. BYOND Key: GladiatorGames123 Character Names: (Characters I actually play) Jack Davies, Sean O'Rourke, Tony Advantorii, Samuel Davies, Johanes Kangala, Te-Ranga Potiki, Augustus Wolf. Species you are applying to play: I.P.C What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: The reason I wish to play I.P.C is because of primarily my fascination of their reasoning of being around along with the interesting and unique opportunities they present upon playing them. Expanding on my first reason, In the most basic reason, why were I.P.C's created? They were made as a way to either, remove the chances of humans being injured in dangerous roles or, create cheap and effective labor for industries, this even stretches back to the more basic forms of robotics, barely even classified as I.P.C's, and as such, the I.P.C's were viewed as tools and in most places still are, even when they grow in their intelligence practically on par with Humans themselves, which creates a very specific divide between the two races. As for the second part of my reasoning, sure, the original bipedal flesh sacks get to have complex emotions and have irrational thoughts of which only harm themselves in the long run providing an 'authentic' feel to them, I suppose, but I.P.C's are commanded by cause and affect, what will this action lead too? What can I do to get to this point? Instead of being ruled by emotion, you are ruled by logic, which in its self is an interesting thing to roleplay. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: What makes I.P.C's different to being a Human is primarily, from what I said before, the actual societal difference that the I.P.C holds in relation too Humans, the fact that in the beginning of their existence I.P.C's were seen as tools first and foremost, used to add to work forces, replace workers in dangerous fields and more. This creates a clear divide between the two races based on this fact. while nowadays positive views on I.P.C's are much freer and more widespread, seeing them as another free race of peoples with no place above or below Humans or other races for the matter, there is still an extremely large amount of people who still see the I.P.C in their original sense, and as such, treat them so. This all reflects In-game with other Non-I.P.C's and in a more limited sense with I.P.C Trinary Perfection followers, with people having varied views on the place that an I.P.C holds providing interesting and thought provoking roleplay unique to a positronic chassis. Character Name: STL-Resolve Please provide a short backstory for this character: STL-Resolve was not always called by what he is now, nor was he always a Janitor. Resolve, once upon a time, three years ago, Resolve was created on the Hephaestus Production Station Amóni under the production designation of G2-83613-A3, being outfitted with the latest and greatest of Hephaestus G2 technology to which he was designated a 'Showroom' Model, with their express purpose being to exemplify what Hephaestus's I.P.C's can achieve for their, if all goes well, soon to be buyers. Among other showroom I.P.C's he was delivered to Earth, to which he was then sent to the, 'Gerter-Weiss Hephaestus Showroom', Western Germany, to put on heavy-lifting shows for customers. Resolve doesn't remember much from this time in his life, due to reasons which will be stated soon, though his general attitude during this time was rather positive, with Customers being friendly and kind, perhaps because of his shiny exterior and owner being present through his whole day. Six months in his life changed with a group of positronic hating locals breaking into the store and damaging and in worse cases, destroying the Showroom I.P.C's located within, with Resolve himself being nearly smashed in two with the group of locals putting special attention into his heavily armoured chassis. This experience is burned into his memory drives with the visions of other I.P.C's being beaten to their death around him as he could only sit and endure the suffering. The next day he was shipped off for damage assessment and after a week of sitting in a storage unit, still active but immobile, staring at the remains of his once alive and beeping friends, he was repaired to the point of being mobile with minor repairs being done on his software. Little did he know, his owner who'd treated him so well over his Six Months work in the Showroom had sold him off to the local Police Department to be used as a janitor and general labourer. With that, he was transported to his new workplace and began his time. The whole ordeal lead to Resolve becoming extremely cynical and silently hateful of his overlords, with his hate being especially targeted to authority figures, such as the Business owner who did nothing to attempt retribution for the break-in and subsequent destruction of his fellow I.P.C comrades. In his time at the Police Department he had been given more free reign over his actions, affording him short breaks where he would be free to mingle with his 'Co-workers' or go and explore the city, but this privilege given to him in good nature resulted in further hostile altercations with Humans, with Police, Criminals and Civilian Staff treating him with cold disregard. They would paint on him to get him in trouble with Higher-ups, they'd kick him, poke and prod, spill things on him and order him to do menial tasks, but with his Showroom personality he kept to his own devices, seldom letting anyone know of his abuse. So, instead of spending time with his Co-workers he would explore, searching about the city streets for new experiences, things that would distract him from the realities he faced, on these travels he discovered a Trinary Perfection church, intrigued he would often visit their halls each time he got a break, learning about their beliefs and customs, but when it all was over, he found he didn't have an interest in them. He saw their beliefs of 'ascension' as false, being some self entitled mess that they tried to push to unite I.P.C's, and while he certainly liked to believe I.P.C's should be equal with humans or even superior he still couldn't bring himself to align with the Trinary Perfection, chalking it up to be a pompous organization with only their own interests in mind, perhaps because of his continuous abuse from humans putting him down or perhaps it maybe sincerely from his own beliefs, even he doesn't know. Roughly around the beginning of his third year of existence he was sold off yet again in a batch of damaged or less-able Industrial I.P.C's for cheap but still effective labour, this time to Nanotrasen where he was then distributed to Aurora Station where he now works as a Janitor. His past experiences still haunt and influence him today, but he still continues working, for the faint glimmer hope that he may free himself from the shackles the rich have around his neck so that he may one day enact some kind of vengeance against those who wronged him. What do you like about this character? Personally, I really like his backstory, why he's here, what he's motivated by so that I may put myself in his shoes and experience the disguised pain that he feels, I like it because of how I know that it will provide interesting R.P opportunities with him, allowing him to further his feelings on other races, and maybe, in the distant future, repair his feelings towards Humans, or maybe he'll just continue his cycle of inner hatred, cynicism and faint ill-fated hope, or perhaps he may even be able to free himself? It's all of these opportunities of developing him and evolving his story that makes me love the character! How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would like to think I am quite good at roleplay, maybe a six or seven out of ten if I were to scale it, but there's always room for improving and mastering! Notes:
  2. Hey, all! Apologies for the late response! I've really enjoyed reading all of your responses and been especially interested in your specific opinions on the point! Now that I see all of your points and views on the item I believe I am also swayed to your side. Thanks again for your time!
  3. The Joke: Welcome aboard the Aurora! Time to begin your wo- Oh my, it appears you've gotten the big red text saying you're a traitor, how wonderous! What schemes will you come up with? What evil plots do you dare carry out? The skies the limit! Great! You've found an interesting Gimmick! Now to start of your dastardly deed, perhaps you need to crack open a door? Maybe you need to steal something? Or maybe you've taken the leap and abducted someone? Whatever it maybe, you've gone and done it! But unbeknownst to you, despite your best efforts, you've left a tiny fragment of your clothing behind, or maybe you've really done goofed up and touched something with your grubby mitts! No matter, you've done it now, time to sit back and wait for the next opportunity, get some work done- BANG, BANG, BANG, Oh my, someone's knocking at your departments door, "Why hello there, Mister Investigator man, what do you need?", All of a sudden your walls cave in, the doors behind you explode, glass shatters, and the Jackboots in Blue rush in clad in Corporate Black Body Armour holding Anti-Materiel Cannons, Carbines and Rifles, before long you're in Cuffs and you're thrown in the slammer... Antag: 0 The Fuzz: 1 If only you didn't leave that one singular fingerprint behind. The Serious: Alright, now I've got that out of the way, I'll dive right into what I am proposing. I believe the Antag Uplink should be given a new item, The Fiberless Suit ™, (Still don't have a real good name for it), this suit intends to be a new Antag item that allows the forces of evil to stealthily move about the station even when their actions maybe careless at times, the suit, as the name suggests, leaves absolutely no Fibers (Or possibly an extremely unique fiber seen nowhere else.) and no fingerprints allowing the user to be practically anonymous in the eyes of investigations. This is the simple part of the suit, the next part I am pitching is in my personal opinion the best part of it that would allow for an extremely expanded list of options the Antag can choose from, but with that said it could also just be left as is, a Fiberless suit. I believe that the suit should also be able to copy peoples fibers/finger prints, how this maybe done is with an item the person you wish to copy has touches, for example, you are a bartender and a Cargo Technician drinks what they ordered and leaves, you grab the glass and bring up your Fiberless suit and left click, a menu could come up stating the names of the people who have touches this glass, you click on the Cargo Techs name and the suit integrates their Fingerprint and their fiber into its database allowing for you to later switch it to this poor Cargo Tech. I believe this feature, as said before, would create an absolutely massive amount of interesting RP situations and is pretty much the star feature of the Suit, here, let me give an example: You are the previously mentioned Bartender, you have access to the Fibers and Fingerprints of all of the unlucky souls who've entered your bar! You gather a database on your suit and once you're satisfied with say five or four people, you move off, you begin your evil deeds, breaking into a restricted area, perchance into Command or maybe Security, just to stir the pot, poke the bear even. You do an absolutely sloppy job, leaving panels wide open where you entered and left, grabbing everything your hands can get a hold of! But it isn't your DNA that's being plastered over the crime scene, it's someone else's, fast forward, an Arrest is made, and not you for once! The Officers interact with this framed crewmember, they're interviewed for something they didn't do and maybe get released or maybe get imprisoned, you repeat the same process elsewhere with someone else's DNA, they get jailed or released, repeat, they get jailed or released, suddenly Security is not quite sure who it is anymore! Was it one of the previous people that was arrested? Or is it no one at all? The Investigations team will be stumped and the Crew will be boiling in rage over the manic arrests. From there you can go on with either your schemes till someone realizes that you've been absent most of the shift or make a big finale with your characters powers being revealed! On a minor side note, what inspired me to make this suggestion was the thought of framing someone for Murder! Whether this be intentional or because someone saw you doing your evil deeds and you had to tie up loose ends because for some reason no one thinks a scary mysterious man holding a gun is scary anymore. You still get to have a massive RP opportunity, expanding on the simple, Murder Someone, Get Caught or Die, Shuttle's Called, instead you can create elaborate goose chases over the station rife with RP! If there are any parts you have questions about or maybe you even have your own suggestions feel free to ask! I'll be checking this every so often to see if it gets anywhere! I really think this would be an absolutely amazing cool item to be added to the 'Antag Tool-Box', I hope you think so too!
  4. Hey, Peppermint! Thank you so much for dropping by and giving some feedback, apologies for the late reply! Being completely honest here, that round had to be one of my worst on station, excluding my 'rounds' in previous years. I completely and whole heartidly agree with what you're saying! The escalation was completely and utterly horrible which was all on me, pressing the Antags into uncomfortable spots where they would have to react as well as my lack of knowledge on how to respond to antags that don't want to communicate and not to mention the aggressive frontlining, I am.... Well, embarrassed to say the least when it came to my actions. As for the bolting action, in retrospect there's no real reason to ever order such a thing unless under specific circumstances. As for the final point, you've provided a very interesting thought for me which has got my mind thinking, I will assuredly follow your advice as we can both agree it would be for the better. Again, I really appreciate the feedback, and I promise you I will take all of the experiences of the round and learn from them! Thanks again and hope to see you in round!
  5. Hey, Faye! Thank you so much for dropping by and giving some feedback! In the spirit of trying to constantly improve my characters I'd like to ask a few questions on this concern of yours, if you wouldn't mind of course! While I perfectly believe and understand that you don't need to be a master at methods or lingo to enjoy an RP game such as this, infact, that is exactly why it is a game, I just want to know to what extent you believe the ideal 'happy medium' reaches, and what things do you believe balance both 'Real life realism' per-se, with enjoyment? Another question I have to see where I may be going wrong is also on what things I do or say that you believe are not exactly ideal. As said before, this is all in the spirit of improving my characters and as such I would like to ask what things my character has said and done that you especially didn't like or want to point out, because, this is just a personal view and I could be getting this horribly wrong, I don't believe that I use too much of this real life jargon in my everyday round. Another minor question that I would have to ask is pertaining to my HoS Character, My HoS Character, in short, is going to be a real hardass on his Officers, I plan to provide the Officers with hard and puzzling training sessions which stir role-play and strategic thinking, such as what I plan on doing on full sec rounds, 'Kill Houses' which will be situated on the Construction floor where Officers will do games of either laser tag with crew or live fire exercises on targets laid out around the floor with Augustus watching like a Hawk for any flaws in their execution, these training sessions won't just be practical either, with Augustus setting up mock hostage situations where the Officers get to plan on their course of action or even just being simple prioritisation training. While I can perfectly understand why someone would go, 'Hah, he's just trying to be a Police/SWAT Officer in SS13' I want people to look beneath the frankly silly 'milsim' type attitude and look at the RP opportunities, how the Officers get to interact and how the crew will also get to join in, allowing for a whole cabal of chances for unique interactions and conversations. So, I ask you, after all of that much-to-long, confusing and overcomplicated paragraph, do you believe this is going over the boundary of IRL terminology and methods or is this fine in your eyes, I genuinely would really love to hear what your opinion on this is. Look forward to hearing back from you! Thank you for your time!
  6. Though I haven't seen their Human Characters to often, I have always been able to interact with their character FROST which has come off to me as quite a well made Cyborg which acts both useful mechanically and great RP wise, oh and also, they said that they needed and excuse to play something other than frost, so here's a +1 from me!
  7. I gotta' give a plus one to the lad, I've only ever had really good, RP intensive, interactions with their Characters, specifically Yorick Gallows who's an especially good character of his. I've played with his HoS a few times and I've only had good things to say on that, so all in all, +1 for you! Good luck, my friend! Keep up the good RP!
  8. Hey, Stev! Thanks for dropping by to comment! Even if I held you at gunpoint. Hypothetical One: The absolute first thing I would do, assuming I fully know of their presence aboard the station, would be to make first contact. This could be in the form of personally talking with them, or over radio, but either way I would attempt to ask of their intentions and their purpose aboard the station. Depending on if the Antagonists act aggressive or not I would request that the Warden begin to prepare equipment for an easy grab and run for the Officers with the equipment being appropriate to the threat level of these Antagonists, once this is complete I'd tell the warden and/or one of the Officers to begin clearing out open station crew areas, such as the Bar, Library, Kitchen, Holodeck, etc. if they are close to the boarders location or if they could possibly get in the way of them. The main goal would be to pin down the group while still allowing wiggle room for them to continue their gimmick, though I would attempt a more balanced approach, going for mechanical effectiveness (Actually stopping the threat), with RP effectiveness (Allowing them to advance their plot and RP with crew members). Hypothetical Two: In this scenario my goal would be to stir roleplay, and the way I'd do this is talking with the head in person, in an Office meeting or even just in the hallways, discussing what they're doing, poking and prodding ever so gently at this suspicious action, though if my Character deems that they were just doing something that could look suspicious but is completely fine, the talk would end there with a smile and a wave. Though if this was a more serious suspicious action, I would do as said before but instead have an Officer follow the Head to an extent, while in truth this is not an effective mechanical solution it would certainly provide an RP opportunity for both the Head and the Officer allowing for a game of cat and mouse between them, though if this Head retreats to a position where they are free from the prying eyes of the damned Security department I would let them go, possibly occasionally requesting a checkup on them on Camera's to see how they're doing. Hypothetical Three: As a HoS I would drum up character interaction and RP opportunities by providing courses, some of these courses being on Firearm safety, for example, what to do when you find a firearm on the ground unattended or how to safely move a firearm out of a situation where someone could get hurt, or even fitness programs, encouraging workouts and competitions between crewmembers while also providing information on how to safely and properly exercise to even getting Crewmembers to assist in training operations with the Security Department like Laser Tag games which will be fun for the Crew and grueling and heavily-spectated training sessions for the Security team. As for HoP, I would perform similar things! Competitions between crewmembers in fitness, Treasure Hunts, Questionnaires, and cooking competitions and much, much more! Again, thank you for the comment, Stev, really appreciate the questions!
  9. BYOND key GladiatorGames123 Character names. (Characters I actually play) Jack Davies, Sean O'Rourke, Tony Advantorii, Samuel Davies, Johanes Kangala, Te-Ranga Potiki How long have you been playing on Aurora? 2019 - 2021 On and off, if I were to actually pool all the playtime together I would put it at a roughly realistic One Year. I had a major month's long break during 2020 where I only, at the end of the year, started getting back into the server. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I have regrettably received three administrative actions in 2019 in my very early days of Aurora where I foolishly had not really taken a look at the rules as I was just fresh off LRP servers, which is not an excuse what so ever. I would like to think that these actions are not extremely serious though they are still rather... Well, stupid. I can assure you that I have evolved beyond my primative days of monkeying about. If you wish for more details on these actions just hit me up at my Discord, GladiatorGames#4844 Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? I believe, as many say, that a Head of Staff's primary OOC purpose is not only to direct experienced players down the right path but most importantly to guide inexperienced players down their journey of their selected department of choice. A Head of Staff is commonly taken up by a player that is confident or experienced in the department they are heading and as such, these players are usually expected to teach new players of their knowledge and understanding of their department as a way to help and grow the community. In summary, the power of knowledge, a thing that Heads of Staff are expected to have, is something that they are to use to mold and develop new players into yet another experienced and confident player in the Aurora Community. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? Whitelisted players are almost one hundred percent of the time players who have sunk a large amount of time and effort into the Aurora Community which is commonly why they spur themselves to gain these whitelists which provide responsibilities that they have to uphold. The responsibilities that I believe whitelisted players have is their time and experience within Aurora, as I stated just before, these players are usually ones who have invested time into our Community and as such have learnt the nuances, skills and experiences that other Community members have which is perfect to allow these experienced members of our server to teach other newcomers of the way of life here and how things a done, not only in Out of Character situations, like writing Whitelists as I am doing here, but also in In Character situations where they can teach their hard-earned knowledge to the new players to get them started on their journey of HRP within Aurora. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Welcome to Tau Ceti! The powerhouse of the human race, Nanotrasen is beginning to fall by the wayside as Phoron reserves begin to run dry by the day, the giant, in a last ditch effort to cement itself back down has created the SCC to not only assist itself but also other Companies along with it. As a great power falls, a new power rises with Einstein Engines coming to the forefront of Tau Ceti with its new and strange technology that could completely phase out the ever more expensive Phoron powered engines provided by Nanotrasen. Tensions grow not only in the Corporations but also around Tau Ceti as a Rogue Fleet from Sol Alliance encroach on the Republic of Biesels borders starting an all too familiar Invasion of its borders. This is when the SCC is revealed to Tau Ceti to help defeat this great fleet along with the united Coalition and Elyrian forces which are able to drive this crazed fleet away. Augustus Wolf, a Senior member of the S.W.A.T within Mendell City, has been caught up in all of the Politics and Controversy of the current era, with not only Mendell City itself growing more volatile with Districts 6 being especially problematic to his career and continued existence as a breathing man but also the great corporations which are not pitted in a life or death struggle with each other to keep their positions on top which have caused his position within the S.W.A.T to be pulled to and fro for personal gain of many corporate sympathizers within the city, but among all of this turmoil and uncertainty he has finally been pulled from his esteemed position within the S.W.A.T to work within Nanotrasens stations. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I am planning on playing this HoS character after the application is accepted in an effort to make a recognized and remarkable character that keeps coming back rather than just having a more one and done approach, though I assure you, with time, my repertoire will expand! Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes! Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking. Augustus Wolf, HoS (As of current) Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes I do! Extra notes: I just want you to be aware that I am currently in a rather busy period in my life with school work coming out the wazoo along with tests galore, so though I will strive to join in as many times as possible I can not guarantee a completely filled out week of joining in! And on a side note, thank you so much for reading!
  10. BYOND key: GladiatorGames123 Discord name/id: GladiatorGames#4844 Borg / AI names: M.T.A.E (A.I), Expanse (A.I). Have you read the Aurora wiki page about the AI?: Yes! Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: To be completely truthful, I have around six or seven different reasons that I wanted to gain this whitelist, so to save you the pain and trouble of you having to read it all and me having to type it all, I will only tell you the arguably most major reason. So, I will start with this overused sentence, I want to add to the wonderful roleplay that this server provides. As of recent I really have not seen that many A.I's playing and that sparked the memories in my head of all of the really genuinely cool, interesting and intriguing A.I's that used to play on the server and so I decided that I want to atleast try and continue on their legacy of great RP and entertainment, and also, who doesn't love a good monotone, over-priced electric brain the size of a planet that you ask to open doors exclusively? No, but really, what I want to do is spark up an interesting A.I character that can almost become apart of the station and in the process of doing so, hopefully inspire more players to pick up the A.I Role, because, as I said earlier, their really aren't that many playing, at least for the times that I'm on Aurora. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?: I'm most certainly not proud of it, but yes, I have received three warnings which have expired, they were all issued in early 2019, the three vary from non-severe to a medium severity but I can assure you that I have moved on from my primitive practices of old. Feel free to ask more about the details if I get the chance for a interview. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? I completely understand!
  11. +1 Great roleplayer on all of his characters, great characters, great comedy and also a very competent guy, I think he would do great in these whitelists. Also he also is a very polite cadet Definite plus one!
  12. Rp was great with her and she was a great RD I made a mech and then made it my action figure she got angry and called me child +1
  13. BYOND Key: GladiatorGames123 Total Ban length: Job banned for an infinite time Staff member: garnascus Reason of ban: Banned from Head of Security, Warden, Detective, Forensic Technician, Security Officer, Security Cadet - Disregard of the detectives role in game. Was present during a hostage situation when told multiple times they should leave and not attempt to arrest them. Rushed the hostage and attempted to disarm them anyway despite every other security member telling him no. Reason of appeal: Well honestly I understand why I was banned from security and I accept that. In retrospect That was absolutely stupid what I did I also understand that I disrupted many role plays and ruined the fun of many people. most of all it would have been a pain in the ass to contain what I created. After the Ban I didn't play Aurora for a long long long time on purpose I just felt really bad and I am sorry for what I did. I do not expect to get fully unjob banned honestly I would be fine if you Infinitely job banned me from Warden, Detective and Forensic Technician I would just like to be given a Second Chance and the second chance being Security cadet for a week at the least and if you think i am deserve being a normal officer again then you can allow me but you can keep watch of me. I messed up big time and now I know dont be a space asshole.
