  1. I may be old fashioned but this always confused me, for the longest time Tajarans weren't allowed head positions AT ALL and were made to stick to simple labour jobs, I mean I can understand the Tajarans in research and medical positions slightly because if you've got a brilliant mind Nanotrasen won't waste it. But Tajarans always had the under dog feel to them, now that's gone. I'm curious as to why this is and what the reasoning was behind it?
  2. Thanks for the positive feedback Hackie, I miss playing as Unathi!
  3. Hey, as someone who wrote the previous lot of Skrell lore I have to say this is a quality application, I've seen you roleplay but I haven't noticed any problems I'm not sure if we +1 anymore or how it works, but you have my support sir! P.S: Lisps are the best, I do them for most of my Skrell
  4. BYOND Key: MrImATool Character Names: Michael Tool, Aaron Tool, Gordon Thorne, Parindra Kapur, Silar Hup, Vangut Topawifol How long have you been playing on Aurora: Well I was one of the founders of the server along with Sphere and Chaz, and then left for a little while, came back, and left for a little more, and now I'm back again. Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Indeedio Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've always been intrigued by honour-bound societies especially in SS13, the way they process situations is a lot different. For example a human that has his back patted by someone he's never met might shrug it off, but a Unathi could hold a grudge to that particular person for an exceptionally long time. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unathi are so set in their ways, they're stubborn, ignorant and prideful. If they lack these things then other Unathi will see it as weakness or as shameful. Whereas Humans are a lot more open minded and it makes me sad to say it but I feel like there's a lot more variety when it comes to people playing as Humans. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? As a particularly stubborn person myself I easily relate to the Unathi, but I think that their ignorance and low tolerance for gender equality can make for some incredibly interesting roleplay. Unathi feel xenophobic and I believe the solitude makes them one of the most interesting races to play. Character Name: Torbin Cou'l Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Torbin's father, Ishan Cou'l, was a chieftan of quite a small clan of Unathi on Moghes. When Nanotrasen began inducting Unathi into their ranks Ishan urged his clan into accepting an offer from Nanotrasen. The offer in question was one drawn up by a rather thin suited man which stated that the Unathi of Clan Cou'l would be granted duties working alongside Nanotrasen forces for fair rewards including weapons and technology. Ishan's clan joined Nanotrasen and accepted the offer, working with them for years. The younger Unathi were taught how to operate certain machines so that the technology Clan Cou'l would gain wouldn't be useless. Torbin was one of those. Torbin was trained by Nanotrasen in basic engineering but after years of victories for Clan Cou'l their fighters were ambushed by marauders and slaughtered. Ishan was beside himself in grief and attempted to get a new deal from nanotrasen - the deal specified that Nanotrasen give him and the remaining clan members shelter until they can bolster their ranks. Nanotrasen refused and kicked anyone older than twenty years of age back onto Moghes. Torbin was 15 at the time and was told that the majority of his clan was murdered by horrific fiends, including his father. Torbin was determined to be as good a worker as he could for the people that 'sheltered' his clan and he worked to the best standard he could, he was nothing compared to the Skrell initiates and the Human's weren't the kindest to him but after five years he became a fairly decent engineer. Torbin worked for years never finding out what really happened to his father and was eventually assigned to the NSS Aurora to aid with her day-to-day operations What do you like about this character? He has a certain hate for marauders and their ilk and he is incredibly determined, always trying to prove he's the best he can be. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10 Notes: Thanks for reading
