I saw the CSI doing their job on the mining outpost. And another thing, Canon was not able to maintain a stable connection Skull, he was disconnecting even when the admins were trying to talk to him.

Skrell Species Application - Swim420
mrimatool replied to Swim420's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
As I've recently been assigned as the new Skrell whitelist guy. I have another question, how old is your character? -
I hate furries, weaboos, and security players.

I'm going to have to also say that this wouldn't be as good an idea as you think. Alien languages are one of the fun advantages of playing as an alien, humans walking round growling and purring doesn't seem right. Although I have a second idea, a form of bastardised language each species get on top of their formal language. So basically humans would speak Siik'Tass rather than Siik'mass and this would make it so Aliens get to keep their language to themselves as well as appeasing the people with love for furry creatures. What I also suggest is that The secondary language e.g Siik'Tass is only available if you have the alien whitelist to play the creature, so if you have the Skrell whitelist you can give your humans the ability to speak the bastardised Skrell language rather than say gutter. The other thing is, Siik'Tass is a completely different language, similar in some ways but not the actual language because humans don't have tails etc.

Have to chime in here, because Conspire shouldn't be the one who has the complaint against him. It was me and Scopes that were the ones that had assessed the situation and given our verdicts, then we asked for a mod to carry out the task as is expected. Conspire poor guy has had to defend himself when really it was me and Scopes. Scopes checked logs and I was observing during. I do think that maybe Sue shooting had a bit of validity, but the problem is, Sue. You've got a history of using lethal force when not necessary, Conspire was only trying to explain to you that it's not acceptable to use lethal force without permission from a tribunal or an official unless your life was in danger. Another point is the detective is not to use their weapon unless in Self defence, the criminal was fleeing, how does shooting prove anything but getting the detective fired for manslaughter of a crewmember without 100% evidence? Because yes, that's the kind of proof you need if you want to end someone's life the other thing I'd like to bring up is that if someone less known or vocal than Sue did this then they'd be severely punished. I'd understand if Sue were a new player without experience of situations like this, however, Sue is an experienced Roleplayer yes? And an experienced server member yes? Then Sue should know better. Scopes and I were also discussing that this kind of shoot first ask questions later kind of behaviour especially from security is really starting to become commonplace and really ruins any real chances of non-chair RP that's not what we want, right? Just one last note - I have nothing against any of the people involved I just think we, as role players should hold ourselves to a higher standard.

In the same round I was in the middle of a fight between the security and a operative (Technokat). He tries to disable me with the taser on the energy, but he left the hallway below the bridge and drop the gun. I pick the gun and start walking toward the medbay, then he returns and even before I do or say anything, he shoot me. And after I got hit by his bullet and I lay down, roleplaying the fact I got hit by a bullet, he keep shooting at me until I die. All of this without saying anything. I see a lot of times Kaipov using lethals without the real need. Like once I was a vox raider, alone, hurt, stuck inside the captain's room and not even holding weapons, and he just killed me with lasers. Were you Aaron Hawkins? Because I think I saw that from Kaipovs helmet cam

This exactly, a couple rounds after this was a ling round. In this ling round I was HOP and I went to inspect mining, I knew who the ling was but that didn't matter, my character didn't. Imraj(Canon, the Ling) was the miner giving me the tour, I knew it would end in my demise and eventually he blinded me and smashed my face with a toolbox, I Rp'd my character fumbling to draw his energy pistol but I ended up robusting the poor ling, but I felt it was unfair and bad form because my character is an old man, an ex-soldier, but still an old man. So after I'd tased him I walked up to him like I was going to murder him and then dropped my gun and dropped to the ground(rested) because Rp wise he should have won that fight and because it creates good Antag Rp if I'm not fucking superman. I dealt a little bit of extra damage to myself and then waited for Canon to awake, to his surprise I was on the ground, I explained in LOOC and the RP was fun, it's not all about winning. The not about winning thing is something Techno seems to have trouble grasping any round where he's an antag and he ends up dead because of his own actions will result in massive dead chat bitterness. Surely we're better than this,we're supposed to be a 'Heavy RP' server.

Just a quick suggestion you could give dogs the ability to only recognise certain words and the ability to have the smellovision that Xenomorphs have, how's that sound?

[Accepted] LoreDev Application - Chaznoodles
mrimatool replied to Chaznoodles's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Chaz was on the original Apollo staff with myself and Sphere as well as on the Apollo lore team and he wrote a LOT for the Unathi. Obviously he was also a founding staff member here, I think he'd make a great lore dev, considering being lore devs is what inspired us to make this server. -
The Humanitarian Sector
mrimatool replied to mrimatool's topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
Right, time to clear some things up since I might not have described it best. some answers for you 1138. The terrorist organisation isn't masquerading as a peaceful one. Some honestly decent people decided to take their logo and associate it with something good, they want to better humanity, not kill all the aliens. The extremist group is the terrorists, we have extremists these days and they in no way represent the majority, granted bad things happen to good people because of their bad habits but still I don't see it as that bad a stretch that a peaceful organisation(think roman church) that has a background in killings(think knights templar) would be so hard to believe. And the reason they're not syndicate is because they're almost cult like in their beliefs, they wouldn't do the Syndicate's bidding. Also the syndicate are a bunch of corporations that do good things but hate competition. Anyway I hope that answered your concerns, just tell me if there's anything else? -
Here's the thing, Kaipov(TechnoKat) is not a very calm person and let's his feelings get the better of him, this can lead to situations like the one Skull dealt with.(Not bringing it up because it was dealt with) and a few others I've noticed, he also tends to overreact a lot when it comes to things he doesn't like happening. Anyway I wasn't aware he did this, all they told me was that you'd betrayed us for Nanotrasen.

The Humanitarian Sector
mrimatool replied to mrimatool's topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
Only just realised I put it in the wrong format, this was because I had it in a different format, sorry lore people, I'll change it if need be. @badlemons yeah it was an idea we came up with back on Apollo before we split into Aurora, it used to be called the Humanitarian Union and was in our lore I'm just not sure if it got put back in when we retconned a lot of stuff. Anyway thanks for the reply -
Love this Witt. I do like the size, we've got too many cramped areas already that people end up pushing each other through, this feels more homely. Probably one of the better bridge designs I've seen.

Official Title: The Humanitarian Sector Type of faction: Terrorist cell Brief description of faction: A xenophobic terrorist organisation, claiming to be humanity's saviours, with some peaceful movements. Motto: "Stronger Alone"-The words spoken by Isaac Beeching when he murdered a Skrellian Merchant Founders: Isaac Beeching, Eric Whent, Lionel Chi Date founded: 2408 Current Leader: Isaac Beeching Capital: UNKNOWN Famous Acts: The Blue riot(2408), The Assasination of Minister Kaiom a Tajaran Ambassador(2426), The bombing of the Skrell Embassy(2441) Allies/Supporting figures: Various Plasma Barons in the frontier colonies, Union of Sol Senator Alik Kapur(Silent Backer) Military forces: No ships known, no standing military force, resorting to guerilla warfare and cloak and dagger tactics. Official Languages: Sol Common, Tradeband, Tau-ceti basic and Gutter. Ethnic Groups: Humans(Martian, Tau, Centaurii, Terran) 100% Demonym: Humanitarian, Sectorian Government: Organisation Systems: It is believed they have safe houses in every human system in the civilised galaxy. Though may believe that's a rumour started by the faction themselves. Population: 250-500 Humanitarians Regional Currency: Union of Sol credits Accepts Union of Sol credit: Yes Drives on: Ridding the galaxy of lesser species and leading humanity to be saved. History and General Information: Forged in 2400 as the Merchants sector by a man known as Isaac Beeching, a baker, Born on Mars, Olympia, in 2378. The Humanitarian Sector started off as a group of concerened, middle class, business men who would meet in Isaac's basement and discuss the state of the city's merchants, and agree on price limits and the such for certain goods, to keep things fair. In 2408 the Skrell population had already began to merge with the Human's and as such, Skrell business men were cropping up in the area and undercutting the Human merchants, exotic Skrellian goods for much cheaper than the goods the Human merchants were selling, not to mention the excitement that people felt when they were around a real life Alien. Isaac was quite a charismatic man, and convinced his fellow business men that action needed to be taken, so the Merchant's sector went door to door, knocking on Skrellian businesses and asking them to join, the Skrell were most likely confused as most of them hadn't had much time to learn Sol Common. Beeching, obviously angered by the Skrell's apparent ignorant behaviour, decided that drastic action must be taken. He gathered all the Merchant's sector and asked them to join him on attacking the Skrell cake store, many agreed, angered by other things just needing a release. So they walked the street at midnight, carrying pipes, bats and whatever they could find; Beeching carried a small firearm that he had purchased that very day, with his last credits, hoping this would save his business. As his followers, numbering in around ten men, broke through the Skrellian shop's door and ran upstairs. Beeching had commanded them to bring the Skrell out, and they did, only they brought his wife and kid too. As all three were thrown out onto the cobbled streets, the Skrellian Merchant crawled to the leader and begged for his wife and child's life, in Skrellian, this only served to anger Beeching and he threw the merchant to his followers, the child and wife.. were next. Though Isaac was a charismatic man, he wasn't always a smart one, his actions this day made him a wanted man, and so he got on the next ship to Biesel, accompanied by his followers. As time went on and rumours were spread about a political sect known as the Humanitarian Sector, claiming to fight for freedom of humans everywhere, from the tyranny of Alien races, any who supported the cause wore blue armbands to represent their pride in humanity, the blue armbaned was usually emblazoned with the Humanitarian Sector's white symbol. Not all of these supporters were hostile however, many were just people who believed humanity would lead them to a brighter future, and they wore the armbands to say they were proud to be humans, many of these also lead to small blue pins being made with the Humanitarian Sector sigil on them, for pinning onto suits, and dresses and any attire really. But the event that stoked the fires of hatred was the Emergence of Unathi Marauders, the event was bloody and made many politicians believe Beeching was right in his distrust and hatred of Aliens, Wealthy businessmen began to fund the organisation, and before long.. The Skrell Embassy on Alpha Centauri-b was attacked by a lone suited man, wearing a blue pin, it was suspected that his suitcase housed a bomb but the explosive's detonation killed everyone in the building, ridding it of most of the evidence. After that attack, Isaac Beeching was branded a Wanted Terrorist by every discovered Sentient government, the Skrellian government was outraged and wanted reparations, which they got, the Union of Sol was unwilling to risk their alliance with the Skrell, and their ships are hunting Beeching even now. People still wear the pins and armbands with little trouble, although the other Alien Embassies all around, have stepped up their security, and many Alien business' have barred people wearing the sigil, from entering their stores. As it stands Isaac Beeching is one of the most wanted men in the galaxy, with the combined bounty total of 5,000,000 Credits. Wearing the pin is no longer considered criminal as the Union of Sol believes the Humanitarian Sector is now considered a peaceful organisation with goals only to benefit humanity. Isaac and his men, are considered to be terrorists and extremists. OOC NOTES: Yes I realise Vitorri has tried to create human supremacist groups before but this one was actually in our lore, it just had to be re-written after we changed a bunch, it used to be called the Humanitarian Union. Also second of all please don't mistake me for some alien hater - I play many xenos myself I'd just like to see more dynamics between the races. Third, no I'm not a racist, I just think that this adds a certain realism. Anyway thanks for reading.

[Accepted] Tool's lore Dev app

Well Skrell lore and the lore on Mars used to intrigue me the most but now I'm mostly up for creation of new forms of life big or small as well as the Skrell lore. And an answer to the second question. Quite well when it's actually constructive and not someone insulting you and claiming it's constructive -
Ckey/BYOND Username: MrImATool Position Being Applied For (coder, mapper, spriter): Lore Dev Past Experiences/Knowledge: I was one of the founders of the server, I was community manager for a while before retiring, joined the dev team and then the lore dev team when I lost time. Stopped with SS13 for a long time again until recently. I've got coding and spriting experience, lore dev writing experience. Examples of Past Work: wrote the lore alongside Gollee when we started the server. I wrote the most recent Skrell lore as well as the old mars lore. I sprited the Forensic jackets and coded a plasma rifle that I kept for myself when I retired from the server. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): Skype, steam. Additional Comments: I originally left the lore dev team because of the way it was handled, disorganised and tons of retcons eventually leading to mass confusion and lore not fitting to greatly together. I'm re-applying because I hope that's gotten a bit better and one of my other motivations for applying is Gollee informed me no one had taken up responsibility of Skrell whitelists, officially and I think that needs to be rectified, and I have the time to do it. Anyway thanks for reading my app.

Thank you to all the people who gave me a straight answer. I'm locking this thread so that no more arguments come of it, it's rather an unpleasant thing to be a part of.

MrImATool's Unathi Whitelist

Thanks Witt. And thanks to the people who gave the positive feedback. -
Let me just get this all straightened out, as Skull has just answered my question in his last paragraph. This is the first time I've replied to this thread because all I did was ask a simple question, one that I was generally curious about. I didn't try to push my IC or IRL opinions onto anyone I just asked a question. I was curious as to why Tajaran roles had changed, that was all. Honestly I'm a little disappointed.. In everyone, in no way was this supposed to resort in this kind of 'arguing'. And a few have been quite abrasive about the whole thing. I think maybe there should be rules for replying to lore questions, the answer should be told, and that's it. It shouldn't resort into an argument about who's way of thinking is right.
