  2. BYOND Key: Poopenfarten Game ID: The round before cj1-cL0e Player Byond Key/Character name: Loozard/Joe Jackson Staff involved: ReadThisNamePlz Reason for complaint: LRP-ish and his character keeps antagonising me for no reason. Before the started of the incident I talked with him a bit on comms. Joe Jackson was being a bit rude as he starts asking who name themself "Thufir" at that point I think he's just new. So, I didn't mind much about it and tried to be friendly by saying "He names himself.", "There's probably someone out there". Sometimes has passed after that, Then I was in the kitchen with the cook talking about food. Janitor asked if anyplace need cleaning, on the comms, which I replied something like, "If they don't have anything to do, the should come to the kitchen". Joe Jackson then said he's coming and asked where is that. At that point I still thought he is just new and probably just looking for other people so I told him the direction on the comms. Then he talked to the chef for a while, Then he suddenly takes my hat which is placed in front of my character on the table. So I told him, as Thufir was a tajara, "That's his hat". Joe Jackson then says, "who". I grabbed him by the hand and the chef bolt the door and says, "Give the hat back!" or something along that line. At this point I am slightly annoyed. He was nice enough to return the hat. I insulted his character, "Fekking rude baldie". Then, everyone return to their seat. Then suddenly he threw a pepper mill at me. I throw a stool at him in return. Since he has been a constant dick to me since the computer annouced, "Joe, Pharmacist, is inbound from the living quarters." Joe then runs up and grab lock me. He then proceeds to force feed me a pill which I didn't notice those lines at the moment until it is too late. I thought he was going to grab me and insult me or something. After I realised I was fed a pill, I ran out and the pharmacist tried to run away but the chef chased while I was vomiting and in pain. I managed to scratched his eyes once before he got away to medbay. I ran to medbay (for obviously needed anti-toxin medication) then find Joe in pharmacy who continues to insult me and the chef plus lies on the comms about how we are drug addict coming after him because he won't give us drug. I just bolted the pharmacy and help myself to some anti-toxin medkit. Managed to popped couple of pills which helps a bit but scan says, "Major Systemetic Organ Failure", so I just stay around in Medbay, and fortunately Sievert arrive. I breifly tell Sievert that the pharmacist (Joe Jackson) fed me weird drug. Sievert promptly get me a body scan and says my liver is rotting. So I tell him to watch Joe and make sure he won't get out of Pharmacist before heading into sleeper for Stasis as the round is already ending. Then I see Joe Jackson climbed out of pharmacist counter and proceed to try to beat the chef with screwdriver which the chef fought back with his kitchen knife then it just turns into a brawl as Sievert also tried to stop Joe from beating the chef further. I decided to get out of the sleeper (This is probably my bad) and proceeds to disarm and beat him violently. (Everything after I headed into sleeper is post-Bluespace transfer) Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? I tried at around the end of the round before I got into sleeper as it seemed to be borderline IC issue (although a really bad one) until I realise how deadly that pill was. Admins didn't respond as it is minutes from restart. Also my bad for calling him a bad word in OOC during next round lobby but thanks to that situation ReadThisNamePlz advised me to make a complaint. Approximate Date/Time: 20.09.2022 roughly 17:30 GMT time. Note: I am terribly sorry that I also respond to the IC escalation somewhat terribly which may leads to this pill situation.
  3. BYOND Key: Poopenfarten Character Names: Casval Castlereagh, GM-1263, Machaon-23, Hans Blanc, Moto Species you are applying to play: Kochiba What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Kochiba Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to play as a tajara because I find the whole lore and aesthetic surrounding the tajara interesting and there is a lot of it. Also the fact that the way they speaks, some part of their cultures and the fact that they are basically humanoid cat, which give them some silly light hearted fantasy vibe to me. (I know, recent history of Adhomai is not light hearted at all) Finally, being able to play as a tajara would allow me to further learn more about the cool lore surrounding tajara through the process of creating and fleshing out character. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The most obvious different would be the physical things like the fact that they have fur and probably hate warmer weather places like Mictlan or would hate it when someone turns up the temp in the hallway. The fact that they are relatively agiles, slightly more endurance and other stuff. The tajara characters should probably acts accordingly . Maybe through subtle thing likes rolling up shirts sleeves Like how IPC don't says "Ow" when a dog bite them. Also the fact that they are cat and have more obvious body language like flicking ears and wagging tail. Then there is deeper more less surface level thing like how Adhomai is currently in a cold war with conflicting politics and ideology. An average tajara from Adhomai would be way more political than their contemporary 25th century human counterparts due to the fact that their ideologies are in a cold war against each other. Also depends on their ideology and orign some tajara would pays attention to ethnicities of other tajara and treats them differently accordingly due to their history with ethnic caste system. Character Name: Thufir Haranaya Please provide a short backstory for this character Thufir Haranaya, a Hharar, was born in Spetember 2442 in the city of Miran'mir. He had 2 older brothers and an older sister. His father was a shipwright and his mother was a decent cook who was fortunate enough to own a small restaurant. Life goes by relatively pleasantly for a Hharar family in Miran'mir, comfortably far from central government of PRA. In 2449, Thufir still doesn't understand much about the world at large but he notices the changes when everyone started talking about a New Kingdom and the red and black flag on the streets seems to gradually disappear a few at a time. A year later, thing has become a bit more clear for him as the voice on the radio changed and his country somehow changed from People Republic of Adhomai to the New Kingdom of Adhomai and most importantly, there is now a war. Lives of Haranaya family gradually become harder as the war drags on. Thufir's father would come home late working at the dock, his mother would complains about things getting more expensive but nevertheless they seems to treat this as a necessary hardship. In addition to that in the living room of their house is now a small picture of the new king on the wall above the bookshelf. For all he knows, the king is good and the nobles are helping the good king and we should help them if possible. He would spends his next 8 years growing up as a patriot to the New Kingdom. His patriotism would be further pushed by the bombing of the parliaments in 2459. Which he views as a babaric assasination attempts which goes beyond border of the war and seal his belives the republicanism no matter which colours is not the solutions for Adhomai. (He originally views ALA with some indifferences. Mainly because he initially just hates the Hadii not the ideologies.) By 2560, Thufir find himself being assigned as a mechanic in the Royal Navy and has already lost his eldest brother to the war who served as a sailor in the Royal Navy. It is definitely hard for Thufir but he knows that it is also hard for everyone involved in this war and he would not want anything more than it to end right then, with his beloved country surviving of course. He keeps up his hard work as a ship mechanic until the end of the war. He would go on to participate in many other naval operations, mostly shore bombardment until the end of the war. He is after all, a hardworking young Hharar ship mechanic. By the end of the war, his father is too old to work while his surviving brother has become a career navy sailor and his sister is sets to take over their aging mother's restaurant. Thufir was fortunate enough to be given an oppurtunity to studies at Dymtris Polytechnic College through recomendation by his commanding noble officer and after two years, with his degree in engineering, managed to secure an off-world contract with Hephaetus Industries away in the Republic of Biesel. With things seems to be stable for both his country and his family, he take this oppurtunity and says a happy goodbye with his family in Miran'mir. For Thufir, he views the foreign megacorporates with indiffirence and see them as necessities as he sees it as the only way for his beloved country to even survive the next war which he stills think would eventually happens. When he get to Biesel, that perspective is further reinforced as he witness the foregin technologies in foreign land and surprised by how common things like PDA and holovids are. Anyway, his life in Biesel is not bad for him, the pay is, not much by galactic standard but is relatively generous from his Adhomian perspective. He would keep in touch with his family and send some money back to his parents, although it is a bit difficult with extranet access back in Miran'mir but he heard it is getting better soon with New Kingdom's deals with SCC corps. What do you like about this character? Thufir is an average 'urban' tajara from the New Kingdom and might seems a bit plain at first glance. I like this character for his 'plainess', I guess. He is a 'young' engineer and has his fair share of war training but nothing over the top like 'ex-royal grenadiers' or anything. He is also relatively new to this 'galactic life' having spend only around a year outside Adhomai so far, so there is also room for some character developments along the way too, I suppose. So, all that is why, I think this Thufir, the engineer/ apperentice, would be a nice and safe character to starts off as my first Tajara character. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10, I have been getting better at using emotes and stuff. A bit worried about talking like tajara but I am sure I can do it. Note: I am unsure about naming a Tajara. Is "Thufir Haranaya" alright?
  4. BYOND Key: Poopenfarten Character Names: Casval Castlereagh, Satoshi Murugi, Henry Werbell, Paul Osteriz, Ida Masaki, Rohan Singh, Pak Jae-Ho, Mark Lee. Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Exempted (IPC) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race?: I want to play as an IPC because I like the concept of humanoid, human-like robot that exist alongside with human in general. Their places in society also varies from place to place within human's space which would probably give them unique rp interaction with diffrent characters of different origins. Their unique gameplay mechanic like requiring charging instead of food and drinks, different xenowears, etc. also a major factor that drawn me to making IPC application(s). Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The fact that they are Positronic brains and mechanical which make them decide things logically based on the causes and effects which make them largely different in terms of decision making and how they would approach their jobs or other situations. In term of social interaction, there would also be different in varying degree based on the background of the IPC like a free IPC from Konyang would probably be more natural with human due to their natural status in Konyang society while an owned coporate Eridani IPC would be strictly professional, polite and corporate-ish. Their behaviour would also be largely depends on their age and purpose as they learns from experiences and their environments. A "young" months old industrial IPC would be quite robotic and, socially, a toaster while a five years old Bishop-made bartender would be eloquent and probably even more fluent in socialising than some bio-people. Character Name: Zim Please provide a short backstory for this character: Zim (AZIM-55-23, "Azim" is a common muslim name which mean something likes "protector") is a free IPC from Elyra. He is assembled and activated in 2455 in accordance to that year quota of IPC citizen with underlying purpose of filling in the need for manpower of the republic's army. He initially lived among the "Assimilationist" IPCs on Persepolis which ingrain him with "Elyranism" and patriotism. He joined the Elyran Army in late 2455 where he was assigned to Busra which means he fought in the Lii'dra incursion in 2457. His contract with Elyran Army later that year where he decided not to renew as he belive the "compensation" for his participation in the defense of Busra unfair when compared to the promotions and awards given to his human counterparts who participated in battles. Although expected, he is disappointed with how the state treated him. Zim moved to New Suez afterward and work there for the port authority as a security personel in New Hormuz. The diversity of the Free Trade Zone expose Zim to the cultures and characters of the rest of the Spur. The most important he notices while living in New Hormuz is how the IPCs and human, both Elyran and migrants, interact with each other in a more natural way. It doesn't take long for Zim to get used to the new environment. Working at the ports, Zim makes a number of new friends, many of which were migrant workers from the Coalition. He is content with his life there for a while. Then, the Phoron Crisis happens. As number of cargo passing through the ports of New Hormuz decrease, his salary stagnated. The cost of living also starts to get more expensive. Zim contemplates finding a better paying job, but there is not many paying job for an ex-military IPC in Elyra. He then looks further to the neighbouring states like the CoC. Then as the Sol Alliance further collapse in 2462 and the various PMCs are on a hiring sprees as the demand for such service increased, Zim decided to travel to the CoC. Given his experience in the Lii'dra incursion and previous job as a security personel, he managed to get a job with the Xanu Defense Service along with the Xanu Free League citizenship in 2463. Initially he has been assigned to works on short-term security jobs on cargo haulers or occasionally some vip vessels. As Zim starts to get used to the frequent travels that come with his jobs he starts to take interest in it. He sees travelling around the coalition as an oppurtunity to learn and experience new things. Then as the SCCV Horizon is scheduled for launch. Zim found himself on the list of staff XDS sending to station on the vessel. He is completely fine with that and perhaps even looking foward to it. What do you like about this character? I think a Free citizen IPC from Elyra is an interesting subject so I decides to make one although, this one maybe a bit less Elyran-ish due to their experience mostly confined to military base of Busra and works on the international port of New Suez. If anything Zim would be considered a jaded "Assimilationist" who no longer belive that it is really possible to fully integrates into the mainstream Elyran society. Also, I haven't seen many IPC from Elyra on the Horizon so Zim could, probably, be an interesting addition. How would you rate your role-playing ability? In a scale I would rate myself at 7/10. I feel like I have improved a lot since starting playing on Aurora regularly around a month ago. But I still have difficulity coming up with a nice gimmick or interesting story as traitors or antags in general. I belive that my roleplay ability is improving and I find it easier to learns about parts of the lore if I play a character with related origins. Note: I am sorry for editing this application a lot. I hope this time the story is more grounded and adequate.
  5. I think due to priority of self-preservation, an IPC would not go as far to achieve a goal that doesn't has much benefit ( in term of cost-benefit) such as risking being heavily damaged trying to save a Dog/Cat/Cow from a plasma fire/breach, or for a more relateable example would be deciding to not engages in negotiaion when it is very probable that the suspect (of major/violent crime) can be detained/pacified right now with no collateral damage/ negligible risk. Also as an investigator, an IPC wouldn't doubt an obvious evidence (90%++ sure) against a suspect when the suspect trying to appeal for the investigator's doubt and sympathy. Also, IPC's decision making would be depending on an IPC's memory too and would avoid making same mistake or change their approach if last time results were undesireable etc. Basically they are a "computing" brain and should computes their next moves. I agree upon rereading the part that it is a very optimistic story. I decide to revise a lot of back story here, hope it's alright: Then CARE-139 was purchased as a caretaker for Henry (now he's a widower) by his daughter who was keeping in touch with him in 2450. Henry's daughter was working as a researcher for Zheng-Hu at the time. At first Henry didn't really like the fact that his daughter think he need a caretaker but overtime starts to enjoy their company and become a "friend". Being an old retired detective, Henry tends to tell CARE about his time as a detective. (All the good++ memories). Also being an oldman (Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino The Mule level old) Henry spend most of his time at home with CARE around him and therefore a major influence to CARE. Unfortunately in 2454, Henry's daughter died in a lab accident and Henry himself died a little later that year due to his worsen lung cancer. -- The story about Henry's will, ownership and renaming goes the same + now with Henry's daughter fund too. (so it would be more likely to survive in Xanu as a free IPC) After becoming Henry-2, the free IPC, he decided that his goal is to become a detective. He know that he is an IPC and he know that he need to acquire the skills necessary to be employed as detective while also still need a steady flow of income to stay afloat financially on Xanu. Knowing these instead of heading for forensic or investigation datapack right away, he opted for a security and combat orientd datapacks since they are more the more marketable skills for an IPC but still relevant to his goal of becoming a detective like Henry Holmes. (also there are more combat datapack in circulation in the market and easier to find, I guess) He then join Xanu Defense Service in 2455. Initially he works as a regular security personnel and steadily climb up and build a reliable reputation with in the company. Despite not getting the Forensic or investigation datapack yet, Henry-2 advocates his time to study the nature of detective works, including various forensic science and detective/ crime fiction. It is only in 2463 when Henry-2 get his hands on a Forensic datapack and coincidentally with the openning for investigators position on SCCV Horizon. (This is as far as my brain could revise it right now.) The ideas that Henry Holmes pass on to Henry-2: The ideas that Henry, the original, passed onto Henry-2, the IPC, are the ideas of the "heroic", bittersweet life of detective almost that of Film-noir protagonist. (That is what Henry wish he was and tends to be how he potray himself in the stories he told CARE.) Henry-2 also took on some habit from Holmes such as reminiscing about old days, "Smoking", "drinking", trying to be philosophical, etc. Henry-2 Behavior and Mannerism: He is trying to be that ideal version of detective. He tends to dress in suit. He is trying to be like the "pop-culture version" of detective. Also his background as originally a caretaker make him very polite and attentive to other "feeling" but that also make him proeficient at detecting and reading a suspect behavior too. Notes: Thanks for your feedback. There's really a lot of things that doesn't make much sense in the first version. If there's any further plothole/ oversights in this new version please feel free to further comments on them. Thanks.
  6. BYOND Key: Poopenfarten Character Names: Casval Castlereagh, Satoshi Murugi, Henry Werbell, Mark Sealy, Paul Osteriz, Ida Masaki, Omar Lombardi, Leonard Romanos, Rohan Singh, Ren Chang Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Exempted (IPC) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race?: I would like to try on a different race other than human and IPC seems like an optimal choice do to their relatively easier to understand history and lore. (Which might be because most of their proper nouns are in "human language".) I has always been interested in "android" or other humanoid human-like robot in general, as I am largely inspired by movies like Alien and Bladerunner. After reading its wiki page, I am certain that playing an IPC character would be a fun experience considering its unique mechanic and RP-ing possibilities. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: In my opinion, IPCs seem to be packed with content in term of both gameplay mechanic and RP-ing, likes the "extensive xenowear", the lack of pain, or the fact that they are positronic and learn from memory and experience. (Which in my understanding mean that they take experience and knowledge a bit more "raw" than organic species). Role playing IPC characters would also be different in term of decision making and reasoning as their self preservation would be stronger than organic species due to their emotion being synthetic or does not exist at all. Although their self preservation would be stronger, the fact that they usually lack the ability to feel pain would means that some minor damage could be ignored for a while if they are occupied with more important things. Also their speech pattern could be less organic like not using contraction or calling themself, "This unit", etc. Character Name: Henry-2 Please provide a short backstory for this character Henry-2, a baseline model IPC, is formerly known as CARE-139 (For being a caretaker IPC, obviously) assembled in 2449. He was a caretaker/servant/friend to a retired detective Henry Holmes (from 2449-2456) in Xansan, Xanu Prime who is out of touch with his ex-wife and children. Over the course of 7 years CARE has grown to be a close friend with Henry who often tell him the story of his works as detective which some details may have been ommited to present himself as a good and virtuous man and some nostalgic feeling may have help hide the ugly parts of detective work. Henry did not has much friend in the rest of his retirement years. When he finally passed away in 2456 due to lung cancer, he did not have any close friend or family but in his will there is two thing mentioned which is the transferring of, then, CARE-139's ownership to themself setting them up as a "Free IPC" and a reasonable sum of money for CARE to afford a small apartment in Xansan for a few months. Aside from their own ownership and the money, Henry also left a letter for CARE. In the letter Henry told CARE that now that they are free and should go live a "good life" and be a "good person". Naturally living with Henry for most of their life, being a "good person" and living a "good life" mean being a detective just like Henry and living just like Henry. When asked whether they would like to change their designation now that they are free, CARE answered, "Can I be Henry too?". Hence, they are now known as Henry-2. (I will be referring to Henry-2 as a he now.) The first week of freedom, Henry-2, is unemployed but he has a plan. His goal for now is to become a detective. His first step is to join the Xanusean Military for financial reason and experience, while doing some self study on forensic and investigation in his free time. After two years and enough saving he retired from the military and went on to study criminal justice (BS), psychology (BA) and forensic science (Master) and finished the master degree in 2462 and immediately hired as a Forensic technician by the local law enforcement authority of Xansan. After a month of evaluation and screening he is then allowed to become a detective in the city of Xansan. A year later in late 2463 having experience life as a free individual, he decide that it is for the best that he should move on and see the rest of the galaxy as he soon realise that the detective life is in fact not that good. He soon quits his position as detective with the local police and join the Xanu Defense Service as a "Tactical Analyst" before being transferred to SCCV Horizon as an investigator. What do you like about this character? Henry-2 is an IPC that works in security and military for the past 8 years but also has a background in "service" in his first 7 years of life as a caretaker, this would give him some dimension as a more human IPC investigator that doesn't only excel at analysis and reasoning but also able to sympathise and perform a more "human" interogation. Also his past relationship and experience with former owner or his co-worker in Xanu as a free IPC would leads him to act more casual with other biological crew while still holds some perspective of an IPC. How would you rate your role-playing ability? My role-playing ability has been improving steadily since returning to play on Aurora regularly last weeks. In term of holding conversation/ improvising backstory, I am performing decently but my uses of emotes still need some more creativity. I would rate myself at around 7.5/10. Notes:
