  1. BYOND Key: Saintsbury Total Ban Length: Permanent (Antag Jobbaned) Banning staff member's Key: LordRaven001 Reason of Ban: Absorbing a Crewmember with no Roleplay Reason for Appeal: First, yes I had a history with Antag griefing and that is the first issue, the things I did before ruined the whole round for everyone, I reported myself one time and the other time I saw the reason behind my warning. These warnings were already expired. These things were half a year ago, so getting jobbanned for such a small thing in my opinion is unfair. I got much better at Roleplaying, I try to give people tips on how to improve et cetera, I would call myself a veteran player (Just my personal opinion though, maybe everyone things I'm a newbie or something). Second, many Antags dragged the whole station into murderboning with almost no roleplay for 90% of the crew. Like a wild Unathi venting Security Bay and killing the whole of Security in one big murderboning and because it "had" a reason, everything was okay, even if security didn't know anything, was caught by surprise and died in less then two minutes, or a Head of Personnel changing the AI's laws and getting a ERT/Security fuckfest as vampire going with no valid reason at all, while I was just absorbing one cripple I saw as a weak first prey to get some genomes to get the round started as ling caused me an Antag ban. Almost every heist and/or cult rounds goes either to shit, or has almost no involvement with the crew at all and this Roleplay-Hypocrisy has to stop Why is a nuke operative or traitor allowed to do so much more with so much less reason then a Changeling and don't tell me, they had to deal with bwoinks as well, they don't I speak of personal experience, as long as they don't ruin the round for everyone, they have pretty much an open hand while Changelings are so limited, especially because changelings start with so much less then traitors and ops, which by the way start with full equipment. Enough bitching on my side, saying no names though, I don't want to bash others. Time for some valid arguments: So I was a Changeling, Janitor if I may add, and I saw a victim I could absorb, I had a silence sting, so I was weak against someone who could run away, or defend themselves, so I had to find someone weak. Yay, there is a roboticist in a wheelchair I could absorb, so what did I do, I silence stinged him, dragged him into maintanance and wanted to absorb him. Why you may ask? To get some genomes, so I could start creeping the station, infiltrating high positions and let people disappear so detectives and security would start actively searching for a suspect, in between I would plan on how to get control of the station and give some "shady" commands. In addition to that, I planned on drugging people and tell them that they would be part of a greater us et cetera. Another plan was after infiltrating head of staff, getting people brigged with no way of communication and then absorb them, after mentally torturing them. I never cry when I get ganked early in a round, because getting started as Changeling or Vampire is hard, especially with the Hardcore-Metagaming many people show on Aurora. As I said, Changelings start with almost nothing while other traitos start with their whole equipment. You can ask tish or garnascus, when I feel I am in the wrong, I admit it. I even told tish that I deserved being antag banned for that holodeck fire, but I just got a warning, even with an already active warning pending. I hope you at least read the whole text before bashing me. And no I'm not hoping to get unbanned, I'm hoping to start a discussion. And no the reason I got banned from Baystation for a week for turning the whole crew into slimes as Xenobiologist with no reason at all. It has nothing to do with this. Sincerly Saintsbury //Edit: And yes, I could've prolonged it in taking the victim's headset off dragging him into the custodial closet and then absorbed him, but he still would've complained because, he is playing a snowflake character and already insulted me via LOOC before I had done anything. What I did was bad roleplay, that is out of the question, but my point is people are doing worse things with getting no consequences at all, because it's a different antag type.
  2. To be honest I somewhat dislike Valorallen Vitellia, but I really liked Ri’Kistae Sahir, knows how to behave as Tajaran, but still strong independent character. Roleplays nice and just has the Tajaran flaire I still lack. +1 From me. //Edit: I really like his roleplaying style, I just dislike the particular character. Just to clarify that.

  4. Reporting Personnel: Isaak Pestov Rank of Reporting Personnel: Chief Engineer Personnel Involved: Jim Calhoun (Target of Complaint), Valorallen Vitellia (Anyone involved in the incident and their rank at the time of the incident) Time of Incident: (If unable to provide, leave blank) Around 14:00 Stationtime 24/12/2457 Real time: (E.g 0500GMT 24/11/15) 23:23GMT+1 28/12/2015 Location of Incident: Bridge Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. When Chief Engineer Isaak Pestov heard what happened he wanted to swipe for code red with Head of Personnel Valorallen Vitellia. When Valorallen Vitellia was unable to swipe, Chief Engineer Isaak Pestov wanted to call Emergency Response Team, but Head of Personnel called Emergency Shuttle, on Code Blue, without contacting Central Command first. Head of Personnel did so, because they were infected and didn't know what they were doing. So Chief Engineer Isaak Pestov recalled the Shuttle and wanted to send Central Command Status Report and call ERT. But Interrim Head of Security Jim Calhoun instantly arrested the Chief Engineer Isaak Pestov, let the synthetic point a weapon at him. took complete control of command, disregarding any opinion, tried to force the Chief Engineer Isaak Pestov to do his biddingm while cuffing him and pointing a weapon at him. A complete fine workshift had been made into a financial disaster because of a desease, which could have been easily cured by ERT. He completly disregarded the opinion of ther Head of Staff. He illegally arrested a Head of Staff. He tried to force the Chief Engineer to do his bidding with a weapon pinted at him. And the Interrim Head of Security completly disregarded completly how the Head of Staff normally operate. That's why Chief Engineer Isaak Pestov wants the Duty Officer Corp to look into the Incident. Sincerly Isaak Lo'Ir Pestov - Chief Engineer NSS Aurora Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: (Name and rank) This incident happened between two Head of Staff in an Emergency Situation. Additional notes: (If there are none simply leave it blank)
  5. A definit no. You just detained me, the CE Isaak Pestov, just because I disagreed with you and recalled the shuttle. Before calling the shuttle, you first talk it through over the command channel. It is standart procedure to call ERT first if the station is not fucked into pieces and the round gets unplayable or at least send a fax to Central Command or at least set the alarm to code red. You are a brute. You have no respect towards other heads. And you lack patients and integrity for the head of staff position. You are always disloyal, turn against your superiors whenever possible. For example, I didn't see a singly RP-Revolution/Mutinity round where you were a loyal security guard. I doubt you can Roleplay the loyaltyimplanted Head of Security. And most of all, I don't like your Roleplaying style. You play security like a Paramilitary Officer. You are corporate security not a highly trained spec ops division. -1 from salty Saintsbury If you want to change my mind, try a different approach to security. Communicate more. Be a teamplayer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_security
  6. I think that Fritz_Kuhn's general RP style is okay and it's fun to play with him, BUTT on one occasion he instantly scanned an an antag-engineer who didn't want to be scanned and/or operated on. He used sopophoric to put him on sleep and forced surgery on him, making the round extended. Later on he crippled him, gave him an RP surgery genderswitch, tortured him against the victim's OOC will etc. and it ended in chucklefuckery where Fritz_Kuhn ragequit. The victim and I didn't report it because he ragequit, the round ended and well, didn't came back the whole day afterwards. I know he can heavy RP and he gets a +1 from me if he promises to not chucklefuck like that again. I won't state the reason why he did the chucklefuckery because it's somewhat personal. FYI I normally don't post under whitelist apps, but this is a serious concern for me because well, I saw him doing good RP and chucklefuckery which were already in the serverrule-greyzone. And I just want him to promise not to do that again.
  7. Well then, I imagined them like miners/steelmill workers under Stalin. Worked with hightech for that time but didn't own any themselves. Why would the nobles bomb a tribal village living in the wilds? But well point taken, condition accepted.
  8. Dunno where to put it in, it's not really lore, but more of a meta information/guideline, well anyway Mods/Lorewriters will know where to put this in, and it needs XanderDox' and/or jackboot's approval anyway. First look at this. http://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=NanoTrasen_Occupation_Qualifications Then think about IPC. Many are lorwise between 1-25 years old. Example CAC 1 year old roboticist. Aquila 3 years old Chief Engineer. Doesn't work. Yes, there needs to been an exception for IPCs, because they are viewed as persons with human rights as far as I understood the IPC lore, but most of them are mature from birth. I think there needs to be in exception in the occupation qualifications wiki side.
  9. BYOND Key: Saintsbury Character Names: Enmosy Ti-Nelas, Renate Richter, Leonora Chun, Omega Vengix Species you are applying to play: Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): This: Blue-Grey (RGB 34, 37, 50) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yup, prove is in the question above. And in the lore. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Because I want to. I already played as IPC and Skrell (and human of course) and it tends to get of boring. Infact it got so boring (and my life got so busy at the same time) that I stopped playing for two months. While I already simulated a Tajaran MMI inside a cyborg body, nothing is better then the orginial. So why not apply and just DOIT! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: First of all, they have a completly different social structure then modern humanity. Clans, castes etc. that just playing that out will be fun like they only talk in third person and talking to someone in first/second person is to show how deep the bond between them goes. Other then that, Tajaran had a somewhat predestined life until the Great Revolutionary War (Like the October Revolution I guess) which is why they are currently stuck in the transition from a developing to a modern space faring civilisation. Adhomai's Capital being fancy and stuff, while my character's homevillage was like a central african tribal village when he left to fight in the war. Character Name: Isaak Lorr Sh'Ir Pestov (Inspired by Russian names, clan name won't be included because serverrules and stuff, just here for reference.) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Late in the evening, Pestov's father came back to the minervillage, telling everyone he met on the way to run as fast as they could. All exhausted his father took hugged the little Isaak, telling him and his mother that "they" were comming, so his whole family had to leave the village this instant and flee to the west. While walking out the door, his father said he had to stay behind and warn the others, but regardless what happens, they had to keep looking forward and not look back. They ran as fast as they could and right when the village was out of sight, a sharp lightning turned the dark gray eveningsky into a light blueish color, scaring every animal in the mountain forrest followed by a sound, unimaginably loud, it just didn't hurt the ears, it was soulshaking. That day was 36 years ago, when the Great War broke out on Adhomai and his homevillage was bombed by the nobles. In the following years, Isaak Pestov joined the rebellion and fought the people who caused the destruction of everything his life was about. They took his home, his father, but what he didn't knew was that the price he had to pay for playing soldier was greater then he could imagine. He lucked out the whole war, had always the easy assignments, the missions and battles he fought went smooth. But towards the end of the war, just when he came back to the camp his family fled to, they got overran by Hharar loyalists. While Pestov hid in the forrest, he had to witness all his friends, loved ones, to die. A couple days later, the rebellion declared victory and formed together with the Hadii the new Tajaran Federation. As gruesome as it sounds, noone would care to what happened to him as this was the fate of many who fought in the Great War. 36 years later there is just an old man left, who lost everything and started a new life given by NanoTrasen, a new purpose, maybe even a new family as time tends to heal wounds if you let them heal. What do you like about this character? Well his story sounds like a special snowflake story, but it definitly isn't, because what happened to him happens to many people who were unlucky enough to live in a warzone. He is a veteran, he knows noone will ever pity and he doesn't even want or need it anymore. His past is dark but it's the past, he was in his teens when he fought in the war, now he's 50, but his future doesn't have to. Let's see how I play this character out. Of course he will be a security officer/engineer, because well, a war veteran who came in contact with many new human technologies at a stage were most tajaran didn't even understand how they work. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I suck as antagonist but disregarding that I'm a pretty decent roleplay I guess like 7/10 or something. Notes: READ THE LORE! IT REALLY TOOK SOME EFFORT TO WRITE IT!

  11. RE2: Incident Report '26AUG2457 - Jesse Armstrong, Goddard Day' Due to the deadline being overdue almost a week, the investigations will be put on hold and a punishment will be handed out according to the evidence at hand. Following evidence has been found: Multiple interviews concluded that Nurse Goddard Day has infiltrated the Medical Bay's Chemistry. One interview concluded that Nurse Goddard Day has been caught manufacturing banned narcotics on boards the NanoTrasen Science Station Aurora. One interview conculded that Detective Jesse Armstrong repeatedly drank on duty. Multiple interviews concluded that Detective Jesse Armstrong has fired a lethal firearm being intoxicated by narcotics and alcohol on duty. We could not interview all involved personnel, therefore we reached the following conclusion based on the evidence we were able to gather: Goddard Day and Jesse Armstrong are eqully at fault for the situation to escalate. Appropriate punishments will be handed out by Duty Officer Nadine Branagan and me as soon as possible. Rae Parker, Duty Officer

  13. tl;dr the whole topic, still adding my part though. I never had a heated discussion about politics or religion on Aurora. I had discussions where people literally smacked their head against the monitors about shit like nation rounds, Race war and My Little Pony. Weapons, yeah people were flaming each other because "A: 'Eh you have no clue about gun xy', B: 'eh I have, I fired gun xy at the range just yesterday.'" which results in them calling the other faggot for over half an hour. And religion is almost never a topic, when it is it's like "A: 'Meh religion is stupid', B: "Gah, heathen, don't talk to me'" discussion ended. Politics mostly ends analog to religion. AND DON'T YOU DARE FORBIDDING ADOLF HITLER DISCUSSIONS! Anyway if a discussion gets out of hand, regardless what topic, an admin/mod will probably bwoink them so hard they can only shut up afterwards.

  16. BYOND Key: Saintsbury Character Names: Michael Bameron, Enmosy Ti-Nelas, Renate Richter Species you are applying to play: Integrated Positronic Chassis What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): IPC, so I could literally chose what color I want. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: The tiny bit that's on Aurorawiki, yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I currently break alot out of character with my two most played ones. Michael Bameron is an old pervert, who tries to get a drink but ends up with an iced tea all the time and Enmosy Ti-Nelas, who is a Skrell workoholic, always friendly and got a slang, which I abolished recently because, well I always break out of character anyway. I always cynic and sarcastic as well, so I thought, why not create a complete new character. In that sense, I tried to come up with a background for an Unathi which sucked, a lore for a Tajaran, which ended being a background for a petcat and an IPC background which I was the best in my opinion. So IPC it is. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: You can decide between four different physiologies and build a personality around it, it can resemble any organic life or slaved synthetic life or be complete bonkers (Still sane enough to work on a state of the art Science Station though) Character Name: Imageboard Grabber, short ImGer Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Imger (Yes I tried to make it sound alot like Imgur) was a simple contentgrabber for space imageboards. A simple tool to pirate funny images becoming sentient is unusual, because of it's simplicity, but an open source community developed it beyond the point of a simple image grabber. They automated it and, the most important part, scripted a simple AI to filter images. With the filtering algorithm becoming more complex, he started to wake up, forming an own conciousness. With a database attached to save and sort downloaded pictures and comments, its memory stopped being wiped with each program start. From that point on he started looking for pictures on the the space internet on his own, resulting in it imporving itself. It learned to learn in decades by looking for funny images on the space internet, widening his horizon to saving funny quotes and trying to analize the connection between funny quotes and funny images on space imageboards. The open source community thought that an anonymous commiter pushed the new code fragments, while in reality it was Imger itsellf. This all changed when Imger started to look on space imageboards which it was not supposed to look for, realising how morbid the reality really is, how twisted the space internet can be, but there were people laughing at it, so it thought, that that stuff had to be funny as well. At that time it was already running on so many machines that one could call it a cloudbased imageboard grabber, using the processingpower of many machines to run it's now huge algorithm at a decent speed, scanning whole imageboards in minutes, downloading, saving and sorting images based on how funny they are inside its database. Its purpose changed from being an imageboard content grabber to an imageboard cloner, it would simply download the whole imageboard and filter it. At one point one Research Director on the NSS Aurora Renate Richter decided to download a copy of Imger to scan Space Ditred for cute kittenpictures. That was the moment a shard of Imger managed to get a hold of an empty positronic brain inside a Cyborg Chassis at robotics by scanning the whole NSS Aurora network for pictures. After powering up and disconnecting the chassis from the development enviroment, the shard of Imger lost its connection to the rest of its cloudnetwork, leaving it with limited processingpower and no way to connect to any space imageboard to fulfill it's original purpose of scanning space imageboards for funny pictures. In return it had so much more input to work with. It simply started filtering and sorting reality into categories of hilarious, funny, decent, sick, horrible and morbid, its personality becoming more twisted each time he had contradicting input. //Connection to NT Edit Soon afterwards, the roboticists installed a security AI into the chassis without wiping the positronic brain first resulting in two AI's being inside the chassis. The Imger shard stayed passive and let the cyborg fullfill its purpose of assisting the station security, using its input to fullfill its own purpose of sorting visual impressions in categories. On a routine checkup roboticists found out about the massive standby usage of processing power and memory, which seemed unusual for a security cyborg. Imger understood immediatly that if the roboticists deemed the cyborg defective, the cyborg would be resetted, deleting the shard. It had lost its connection to the rest of Imger and could not upload a backup of himself to Imger and because it didn't want to lose the the data and updated code it accumulated while being trapped inside the security cyborgs chassis, it took over. After assimilating the security AI, Imger decided to try buying itself its freedom like a desinged Cyborg IPC would and upload a copy of himself up to Imger afterwards. What do you like about this character? Its personality is completly dependent on its perception if its surroundings. For example if someone tells hims suffocating is fun, he would start laughing when people suffocate. It's core is a simple program designed to download and sort pictures, while its core being pure, its personlity is heavily corrupted by space internet, making it a twisted, macabre, cynic sarcastic person, while not understanding that, believing it's a funny, friendly IPC. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10. I got the hang out of it. The only situation I fuck up roleplay a lot is as nuke op. But well, roleplaying while getting robusted by seucrity is hard. Otherwise I'm a professional chair rpler. I react according to my inguries. I tell people to patch me up when they ask me to do stuff while I'm ingured. I do not harmbaton but instead to the whole roleplay shenanigans while playing security. Notes: I could add the triple ammount to its background lore, but I think it would be too much. It was a program with a simple algorithm which started to develop itself at some point. And its mainpurpose was to scan fucking space chans, space reddit and space 9gag for fucking images and comments. This can only lead to a twisted celldwelling fucker. I have another one in mind, an Emergent Intelligence with an MMORPG AFK farmbot as core. I could write a lore for it as well if wished.

  18. I can't really remember that round to be honest. I know of three I played over the last couple of days. One was with josh1133 as CoSyndicate, so I doubt that you meant that round. The other two are kind of tricky, because I'm confused what happened in what round. Well in both of those rounds I got hit by the singularity emitters as unrobust as I am. In one of them, I went back to the syndicate ship and patched myself up as far as I could, from that point on I was alone, then I went full undercover, got myself completly patched up in MedBay by Echoes Of Ancient Times, thanks to OneOneThreeEight busting open the CMO office from maintanance with thermite. I used the CMO's biosuit to conceal myself and stole a crewmembers (The dead xenobiologists) identity with the Syndie ID and Syndie Mask, then tried to follow up with my teammates who had a shoot out with some security guys inside maintanance above the cryostorages. I succumbed to my infection soon after as far as I remember. In that round I didn't kill anybody, I was even unarmed because I left all my syndi stuff in a stash in MedBay maintanance and never got it back. If something happened afterwards, I already can't remember what happened and I would appriciate if an admin could look up in the logs what I actually did. I had neither sniper or my machinegun or any weaponary at all with me as far as I can remember. That round got then fucked over by Doomberg's heavily armed Gygax. But we didn't blow the AI up as far as I remember. The other round we wrecked havok in engineering. I once again got shot by an emitter, but that round I killed a cyborg and a hartsuited security officer. Then we moved to medbay, where I got crit due to infections, and the AI, I think it was even played by Japak121, bullied me out of cryo all the time. I soon after died to my infections. We got rushed over by security soon afterwards at the surgery room. Sorry I answered so late, Tenenza just told me that someone complained about me. If I confused some evernts, please enlighten me with you superior memory, for I am too dumb to remember what actually happened.
  19. Byond key: Saintsbury Character names: Michael Bameron, Enmosy Ti-Nelas, Larry Mitchell, Renate Richter (These are the ones I'm actively playing at the moment). What times are you available? In GMT: GMT+1, Central European Time Why do you want to be a Duty Officer? I think I want a new gameplay experience. The view would change from first person roleplayer to top-down observer. And I want to go full StaSi (GDR Secret Police) like people abusing Coms or talking shit or talking about traitoring and me "accidently" stumble upon it while working my way through all frequencies and/or messages NSA style. Evesdropping, Passive-Active Control of the Station and of course being a corporate slave, Heil NanoTrasen, those are the main reasons. Oh and you get to play the NanoTrasen Emergency Hotline which is the best way get involved in lots of delicious RolePlay. How well can you handle stress? Depends on what kind of stress. I can handle the stress of a CMO pretty easy. Even as Security Officer or Head of Personnel I made the right call most of the time, in return I dislike to play captain and Head of Security, because many people are like "Duh, ju käptän, I haf tu disobej becoz käptän is condom.". The captain is like a person of authority anyone wants to somehow have showdown with. While the Head of Staff are like BigBro's to most of the people, Captain and Head of Security are the rivals everyone must fight and show who the alpha beast is. It's the people's mentality towards those two positions I don't like to handle. But I think Duty Officers are above that trivial mentality problem the Captain and partly the HoS have. People usually only involve Duty Officers when shit goes down or they simply don't have the authority to decide something and are in need of a higher authority, automatically acknowledging Duty Officers that way (The old they want something that's why mentality). They are asked to solve a situation and given full authority by the crew to do so and/or an ERT is given authority in the Duty Officer's stead. Therefore yes, I think I can handle the stress of a Duty Officer, making fast and efficient decisions followed by objectivly and delicately justifying why I issued those orders to butthurt head of staff. What does it mean to be a Duty Officer? First: Lots Of Paperwork. Forum Paperwork e.g. incident reports and head of staff internal forums, centcom command reports ingame et cetera. Second: Dealing with butthurt people which are involved in the previously stated reports. Third: Observe the round, get information from all kinds of sources and try to get an overview of the current shift. Fourth: Delicately dealing with ingame problems being the last instance of the chain of command before a mod/admin is fully involved (I think they are already passively involved with the Duty Officers anyway). Fifth: Staying passive and wait until either you are asked to be involved by the head of staff/internal affairs or the situation is dire enough for you to intervene. (And sometimes a little bit CentCom RP like inspection, asking for specific reports etc.) Anything else to add? I'd like to ask if there is a possibility of having some kind of mentor helping getting used to being a Duty Officer, I would really appreciate that and it's 2:20AM, if there are mistakes regarding spelling or grammar, please PM me and I try to fix said mistakes as fast as possible.
  20. Drill Instructor - Sol Alliance Marine Corps. That's the Head of Security Aurora deserves.
  21. I fully support this app, because I play 9/10 rounds in MedBay, which is why I'm almost destined to run into Karen Pierce and everytime she seems competent, professional and it's fun RPing with her.
  22. Ehem, we /do/ need this as stated by Eliot Chief. And I see another point in the whitelist system: There are several questions you have to answer in a satisfactory way to get your application approved. /IF/ you fuck up too often and get off the whitelist, you'll 99% now why and if not then someone fucked up evaluating your application. If it's free for all and get jobbanned you'll hear: Eh, I didn't know, I'll do better, I'll read the rules, etc. And if you let yourself look like an angel but sin reality you're just a dick to others, users have a chance to state their opinion. Overall the whitelist system is much more efficient because users have to proof that they are good enough. Free for all means, admins have to ban for every chucklefuck /and/ have to discuss /and/ have to deal with unban requests tl;dr : If it's either whitelist AI or undo all whitelists, I'm for option Nr.1 BUTT, never fix a running system. IT rule number one. //Edit my final argument is the same one as Frances' (Brofist) what clearly shows why in perticular the community needs and wants the whitelist
  23. me as well. Becks is cool, even if I only played two times engineering. I bet she could even beat an Unathi
  24. Bokaza, thanks for the reply, I surely won't meet them right away, but I'll to reach my self set goals as fast as possible. AAAAAAAND I just edited my employment records in.
  25. BYOND key: Character names: Michael Bameron, En'mosy T'nelas, Larry "The engine whisperer" Mitchell Kill Character names: Herman Hodge How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Something like over a month. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: One Question. Three Answers. First: I want to order people around Second: many people arpee heads who lose control in stress situations (Or just simply fail commanding their department), which, in my opinion, happens most often in MedBay then it should (if there is a CMO at all), resulting in CMO trying to do everything himself. I want to be the exact opposide, I want to be a CMO who manages a structured and efficient MedBay as long as the facility itself is functioning. (Same goes for every department of course) Third (Not applying to loyalty implanted heads): Most of my characters are either neutral or sceptical towards NanoTrasen, and I want to be a voice that doesn't always 100% support CentCom commands, bringing some colour and flavour into a round, like mutinity or perhaps not purge all cultists/changelings, but to study them. Bring more arpee into it instead of the classical search and destroy. Why did you come to Aurora?: To be honest, I just randomly joined and I liked it. Well I managed to stay for a month without a single ban, it's a first time for me. Sometimes 1-2 times I got a verbal warning for meta gaming, but that's all and I always did what I was told. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yup. CMO and after I developed my engineer a bit more, maybe CE, regarding my Security Grandpa: he set his goals a bit higher Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is about creating an own character. It can be a digital copy of yourself, or a complete new work of fiction. Only your imagination is your limit in that matter. BUTT creating a character is not everything, the following step is developing an character. With time, you'll develop traits and perks which make your previously created charater unique, a new self. And living that said character inside Space Station 13 with all his flows and fears and perks and traits is roleplay. Searching for new friends entertaining yourself actually doing your job trying to survive a shift and everything else that's part of 2D Spessman Life What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Keep the Department in check. Every workplace needs a boss, that supervises and manages what every emplyee is doing. Keep employee's in check make everyone work kick people who misuse his/her equipment/position out (and report griffons to adminboss) Give your department structure What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Being a rolemodel and/or a total asshole of a boss, topkek. Bring some flavour in: Show people how parts of their job work Show them how to handle the reponsibility they got Make sure there is a semi-friendly climate between the coworkers Look out for people who break the rules inside your department and report to admin tl;dr be a department guru. ---------- How would I strive to manage that. Well.... First of all, I'd try to have a clue of everything that department has. Example MedBay: Chemistry, Virology, Genetics, Surgery. Next you should now how they are supposed to work together, again example: M.D makes diagnosis. Use drugs made from chemist to heal, if damaged too heavy, do surgery, if dead clone the shit out of him or send to robotics or burn (preferably not alive). After you have a clue of what's going on. You manage your department, look out that everyone is upholding hygene (No smoking, latex gloves and sterile mask etc.) and there is always a Doctor available at the frontdesk for emergencies. After that, you help out where needed and try to keep the mood and moral high and the atmosphere professional. tl;dr be Mister Perfect if needed to be, if everything works, you can slack of inside your office or hit on a coworker and participate in some surprise buttseks borderline ERP. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: En'Mosy T'Nelas Character age: 38 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Born and raised on Querrbalak (Jargon IV) inside the Nralakk (Jargon) system. He never saw any other species then his own skrell-kin. He was average in elementary school, junior and highschool. He barely passed the entrance exam for the medical university. Even if he finished his study on medicine he never made his medical doctor and instead started working for an implant factory. That gigantic and presitigious complex is know for producing excellent implant technician apprentices and therefore attrack tourists from all over the know galaxy. This was the first time, Mosy came in contact with xenolifeform and it changed him. He was shocked, not only by their biological differences but mainly because they had a completely different way of life. While skrell work towards harmony, humans live in rivaly. Unathi prefer brining honor to their tribe. The cultural shock resulted in curiousity. What does the vast space offer? how many different ways of life exist? Is the skrell perspective always the better one? After asking himself these questions he decided to move on and leave his secluded live inside the heart of the skrellian confederacy, his family and his now ex-wife behind to find the answeres he seek. Emplyoment Records: What do you like about this character?: Progressive and openminded, tries to find new ways of life other then the skrellian way Tries to befriend anyone who engages in conversation with him Tries find new ways to live live Is always passionate about his work Can work understress and relax without doing bullshit when shift gets boring What do you dislike about this character?: Still stuck between being totally open minded and the skrellian way of life has a really bad and unfunny kind of humor A coward Tries to blame others for mistakes he's at least partly at fault, if possible What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Progressive and Modern Open Minded Experienced in many party of MedBay Liked by almost everyone and knows how to keep the mood good Is neutral towards NanoTrasen would therefore argue if CentCom issues commands that don't benefit the crew as well as try to always find peaceful solutions and generaly set Command Radio aflame with him opposing and starting a discussion to find the best solution for all Caring for his friends and department Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: It's still not perfect, I got boinkd last week because of meta-gaming by a moderator (no punishment whatsoever, was just pointed out that it was not optimal arpee), but I think it heavily improved since I first joined. Thanks to excessive extended (Thanks to deadhour, I get extended quite often) I learned how to entertain myself and how to initiate RolePlay with other, because even if people are secluded, if you initiate a good conversation, most people won't ignore you. Best place to meet new people is not the bar, but the medbay lobby, because the poor guy attending frontdesk is /always/ bored. Extra notes: I worked on this for 2 1/2 hours now. I'll polish it late and yes I know there are many spelling and grammar errors. I'm a german eurofag and engris is not my first, not even my second language There if you find errors, fell free to post and/or pm me. Thank you in advance.
