  1. BYOND Key: HauntedHamburger Character Names: Nicholas Whittaker Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) Character is IPC, so exempt. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to play an IPC because I enjoy playing as robotic characters Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: There are many differences present in speech, and how characters of this race are usually treated. An example for each respectively would be slang and such spoken among IPCs in EAL and the fact that many crewmates may have conflicting opinions or marginalize IPCs. Another factor, at least for my character, is the ability to memorize things such as recipes extensively, feeling no pain but being vulnerable to heat and lasers, and not having the capability of making decisions as efficently or as nuanced as other intelligent species. Character Name: M.I.T.C.H. (Multipurpose Intelligence Technology, Culinary Head) Please provide a short backstory for this character M.I.T.C.H. is a free IPC who was produced by a robotics company rolling out IPCs specializing in various fields. M.I.T.C.H. earned his freedom by working for 2 years as a chef in a prestigious restaurant in Mendell City, earning enough money to buy his freedom. He continued to work for 5 years, climbing up the ranks of the kitchen until he became the head chef, having mastered a grand multitude of recipes. Word of his culinary skill spread like wildfire, and the restaurant would flourish in business. What do you like about this character? I like this character's friendly personality and his ability to bring smiles and full stomachs to all who come to him. I also find playing IPCs to be very fun in general. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say I'm somewhat above average, but I wouldn't say I excel at it, per se. I try my best to give each character of mine their own personalities and quirks Notes: If there is any more necessary discussion, you're welcome to communicate with me over Discord, and I will also check this forum daily. My Discord is HauntedHamburger#3336. Thank you!
  2. Hello there, higher-ups! I would like to be whitelisted for the IPC race. I have multiple IPC characters that I've played on other servers, so I would appreciate being able to play as them on this one. I understand their lore, physiology, and such well. I don't have much else to say, so I will disclose my knowledge on them. I know that IPCs can either be free or owned by a faction. IPCs don't have a culture of their own, and usually conform to that of their creator or community. They face heavy discrimination among the people of Tau Ceti. Robots were instrumental in advancing Mankind to the space age and the terraforming of Mars. Cyborgs were an experimental way of replacing robots with workers of higher intelligence, with the same resilience. Cyberisation is a controversial topic, being seen as a form of capital punishment and slavery. By 2300, companies began relying on robotic workforces due to their sheer numbers. Without the materials to sustain them, robots of the 2300's are becoming rarer and rarer as time goes on. This dependency ebbed around 2370, with humans once again dominating the workforce as the robots fell into obscurity, forgotten, lost. With the discovery of Glorsh-Era mining drones, discoveries in the field of artificial intelligence led to the creation of positronics. By 2440, IPCs were growing rapidly in numbers. In 2447, it was decided that IPCs should have basic rights, with conditions and requisites allowing them to essentially become full citizens. Synthetic factions include Purpose, leading faction of the free robot resurgence, Ceres' Lance, a military organization whose purpse is to reclaim or exterminate lost synthetics, the Synthetic Liberation Front, which acts against the injustices done to synthetics throughout the galaxy via acts of terrorism, and finally, the Scrappers, gangs of synthetics throughout Eridani and the Sol Alliance, off the grid. I hope this is sufficient information. I look forward to talking with you soon!
