Not necessary, but I think it would be neat to be able to place small or reasonable items in the mouth slot for temporary storage. Examples: Knives, screwdrivers, pens, slices of toast, cable coils, grenades, rags, magazines, plants, Uses: "Biting" on a pen, swapping items easily (engineering in particular), gagging people (in the case of rags), intimidate enemies by biting on a blade like Gomez Addams, romance by holding a flower in your mouth Bonus: Using the 'say' verb makes you drop whatever is in your mouth (minus cigarettes/cigars)

It still feels incredibly anti intuitive. It /also/ still doesn't fix cakes, which have to bake first instead of instantly reacting to make cake batter or something.
-
Trying to make cakes or batter according to the github is a real pain (see: impossible) because the flour and egg yolk effectively always reacts to make dough. Why hasn't this been addressed yet? I feel like there should be some changes to how the code works, somehow. I know other servers have cooking code that gets over this issue.
-
Self explanatory. Alby told me that we didn't have it on the server, which seems pretty absurd, not to mention it'd be a great roleplaying element for getting kidnapped. Maybe a bonus could be to tie up someone's wrists or ankles?

BYOND Key:LordQuailius Character Names:Mae-Tarri Querra-Tup, Iyuro Uvo'dar, Reznak Careeseus, Dante Wulfe, Milo Skirzet, Kujuli Na'Katosi, S.O.A.P.; any others I've played, I've played only a couple of times or so long ago that nobody would remember them. Species you are applying to play:Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Darkish Blue Grey ((Zhan-Khazan)) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wanted to play a hard-working, aged character that has a strong tendency to follow orders from superiors, and to fight to protect his fellow crew members(or those he holds dear to his heart) in case of emergency. Not to mention, I love the image of an old, battle-worn Tajara with a thick mane and lightly graying hair, though still has a strong, muscled body; and that acts kind, gentle, and loving to others. Kind of like your friendly neighborhood elder. Also, his typical work position as a shaft miner would work really well with Adhomai's lore. Plus I've always wanted to play a Tajara. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:Plenty of things, really. For starters, their history is riddled with nobility oppression and a sense of revolution (like a planet-scale version of France). Their speech is also quite different, as they roll their r's and refer to themselves in the third sense. There are also plenty of different colored races that each have a sort of role in their history (moreso than humanity). Their sleep cycles are even different, working for long periods of time with long breaks with rest and naps dotted in between. Their bodies are used to nigh permafrost temperatures, even down to preferring very warm or hot meals. Character Name: Zaqir Nekra'Khan Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Zaqir was born on Adhomai, into a low-income working class family with 3 older siblings and a younger sister. His father taught him the details of the mining trade, from the classic mining pick to advanced, newly developed machinery like mining drills. Zaqir learned quickly, especially for a Tajara his age at the time. His mother, unable to afford to send him to school, taught him the basics from the alphabet all the way up to properly speaking Siik'maas, Siik'tajr, and Delvahhi. Zaqir grew up to be a rather mischievous young adult. He got heavily involved with alcohol, parties, and over-all minor criminal endeavors. Despite this, he was still, for rather cheap pay, employed by Nanotrasen at one of the larger mines on Adhomai. From here, he learned how to speak Basic and operate more advanced mining tools such as drills and mining mechsuits. However, one day, due to his mischievous nature involving a large set of explosives in order to clear a large portion of rock, Zaqir accidentally got multiple workers killed, and nearly himself. After several months of medical leave and a look over by Nanotrasen officials, Zaqir nearly lost his job, but was given a second chance (He was one of the lowest paid workers on the force). When he returned to his work at the mines, the other workers loathed him and his presence, actively insulting him or even attacking him physically. This, combined with the immense guilt of having blood on his paws, shifted Zaqir from a party-loving prankster to a silent, passive introvert that kept to himself. Zaqir stayed loyal to Nanotrasen over the years, working as a miner even as his dark blue-grey fur started speckling with white from age. Recently, however, Zaqir has been transferred to work on the NSS Aurora as a shaft miner to assist with gathering research material. What do you like about this character? I'm awful at writing backstory, but I think I did pretty damn well with this one. (Took me way too long though) How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty good, I think. Notes: I've had trouble with coloring races before, but since there's literally an RGB scale on the wiki I shouldn't cuck that up too badly.

Seems like, for a race that's impossible to clone, they die INCREDIBLY easy to welder/fire/lasers (3 shots I recall). Otherwise, I think that the whitelisted people roleplaying the Vaurca race are doing a great job representing the new species. Kudos to them. Just a quick opinion.

BYOND Key: LordQuailius Player Byond Key: Hackie Mhan Staff involved: Alberyk Reason for complaint: The borer round that day, started by Garny. So yeah, borer round. First 2/3's of the round were pretty cool, it genuinely felt like a survival situation. The last 1/3, however, kind of turned into a chucklefucking murderboning rampage. Towards the end, when the shuttle was called, my character (Iyuro Uvo'dar) and Phoebe Essel were scurrying through maint tunnels to get to the escape pods (we didn't want to get discovered and converted into brainless slaves, of course.) We got to the maint tunnels above arrivals, right above the door that was right next to the pods. First, we see someone in a security hardsuit go by. He didn't make a big deal of things, simply went off on his way around the station for whatever reason. However, one of the converted ERT members, Ltr Helosi (controlled by a borer), spotted us. He spun around a couple of times, shot the welding tank in the maint tunnel to blow open the tunnel, ran in and gunned both of us with a ballistic pistol. I try running out of the breach (he breached open the wall into arrivals as well). He chases me down and shoots me with a laser gun, presumably after yanking Phoebe Essel out of the maint locker and murdering her (or beating the shit out of her, didn't really have vision), and kills me. Not one word was exchanged between us. Not one. Only a few moments of silence before he exploded maint and ran in like Rambo on steroids. And sure, hivefleet had been a really robust skrell proto that destroyed/taken over half the station (kudos to him), but there was at least some retaliation time to run away or fight (at least when he raided science, not sure about security). I feel also that Hackie had been wandering outside the station walls scanning for people for the sole sake of murdering the shit out of them. I adminhelped it, Alberyk answered it and said that Hackie had been the one to do it. I asked him again, just in case. Approximate Date/Time: January 10th, 2016, somewhere between 6pm-6:30pm CST

You should be able to build more of them, if say for example you want to create a garden and not assault the botanist over wanting more seeds for it when they have things to do.
-
Why captain? Can't you walk around and converse with other people?
-
I know it sounds like a weird question, but I can never really get lasting relationships between characters other than "OMG UR A SKRELL SO COOL!1212!@!!!" It doesn't help I tend to play as a chemist or botanist, either, but it seems that whenever I go out to RP whether for innocent or antag reasons, everyone is doing something else involving their job or RPing with people they've already established relationships with. Any hints to help me out?
-
Oh gods yes. Also, I made multiple suggestions on how to make botany a better role other than just "give food to the chef" because we have food vendors otherwise that can do that as well. I made a forum a bit ago about it, said it would be shelved for now since they're dealing with more, more important things.

Just a music thread. Share some SICK BEATS you like and would wanna share to everyone else.

Why would a workplace have a chapel? Or a bar?
-
Would make a lot more sense than spontaneously going from bald to flowing locks. Would also be neat to be able to dye your hair and all that fancy jazz.

Definitely a solid, experienced role player that would make a great CMO. Plus Won. -

I'll just edit it to a new character, no problem. I could probably make an IPC whitelist some other time for Trinity. -
LordQuailius's Unathi Application

Well, shit. I thought people had told me that it would be fine...I could simply change the lore if push comes to shove to make a bright optimistic unathi character. -
BYOND Key: LordQuailius Character Names: Mae-Taerri Querra-Tup, Nie-Tienni Marik-Tup, Dante Wulfe, Trinity Rader Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Pearl White Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yep. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: It would fit my idea of a Th'akh shaman perfectly. It stands out from the usual mold of a brute lizard man/woman and would have nice, healthy relationships and roleplay to follow it. Not to mention the backstory would make absolutely jackshit sense if it didn't have an Unathi background. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Neat slash mechanic and resistance to heat, short life spans, carnivores, limited color scheme, tail-thumping/rattling action, a thick sense of honor {and melee fighting}, and the whole nomadic suicidal thing is pretty neato. Character Name: Kujuli Na'Katosi Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Kujuli, from birth, was told that she had great potential. Her unusual albino status had her both praise and condemnation from her clan. Some saw her pearl white scales as a sign from Sk'akh, that she could embody the greatness of all three of the Sk'akh's aspects. Others saw her blood red eyes as a curse, a malicious omen that had harbored evil, vehement spirits rife with recent strife and rage. Regardless, her parents raised her like royalty, even for a female of her clan. They taught her how to farm, how to defend herself, and how to weave (as any proper female unathi should.) When she became an adult, Kujuli trained extensively to become a shaman by the clan's own female shaman, who saw Kujuli as a massive embodiment of strong-willed spirits, and that she could fulfill the responsibility of a shaman with great ease as a result. After many years of questionable herb consumption and spiritual connection, the clan's shaman approved Kujuli as being a shaman (or if there's some sort of ceremony/trial/whatever to become a shaman, that.) For the most part, Kujuli would mostly assist the main shaman with her shamanistic duties. However, things couldn't always last so well. The shaman of her clan had been recruited, by the government, to act as a shaman during wartime and had been dishonorably defeated in war. Kujuli, both devastated at the loss of her nearly-life-long mentor, and the stress of the government possibly enrolling her as well, decided that the only safe option was to leave Moghes altogether and continue her shamanistic ways. Whether she aids different communities on different planets, or helps with dealing with the stress of working on a (possibly deadly) research station, she hopes to continue the shaman legacy that she holds close to her heart. What do you like about this character? I love that it isn't the usual "CRUSH KILL DESTROY HONOR" unathi cutting people more than an emo in a ballpit full of razors. She has a deep backstory that could be related to or roleplayed with. It brings a new type of religion into the system as well, one that feels more tribalistic. Also, an albino. Super rad. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty good, but not the best. Notes: I wouldn't mind making a sand colored lawyer lizard named Reznak Lemonsnout, a carry over from past games as a lizard man, but that's a bit...iffy, currently. Also, humans would probably refer to her as either Kuju or Julie.

While having a mess of varied ideas doesn't make development easier, can't this thread be seen as a collection of minor changes under a unified theme? Basically a suggestion for a "rehaul" of botany? I was originally going to name it an overhaul of botany, but I felt like that would break the rule of "one thread per suggestion"...then someone asked me to list stuff, so...

Buggy Buggy bees... Second picture, the holodeck is completely zoned off. No way to open the doors. (Because bees can open doors)
-
I understand, I only listed those things because someone asked for the ideas I had in mind. And it's fine if there's a backlog, it'd just be nice to have some additions. I'm hoping that this could be considered as an "extra" thing, where you could work on this once more important things are taken care of.

But it's silly you have to ask for biosuits like that. The crate should come with a resprited biosuit that doesn't give radiation defense.
