  1. Roleplays their XO very well. I can see them fit for playing leading positions. +1
  2. Thank you for the feedback. For the first question: Coalescence had very few friends due to New Gibson's attitude towards IPCs, which was trickled down from the skrell to the human population, it's friends were fellow IPCs who had received the same treatment. It's friends in the TCFL were also IPCs sent to the same fate of patrolling the icy surface of New Gibson. They all wanted freedom Coalescence's only time when it would not be on shift is when it would have been charging. In it's early years, it did not care for the discrimination, as all it would do was it's job, but as it would grow older, it's positronic brain would adapt, understanding emotions of hatred and sadness, learning that working is not all there was to life. But it knew that it had to work, otherwise it would simply run out of charge and die. Coalescence wished it was manufactured on Konyang, so that it would not have had to endure the pain it went through for 37 years nonstop. Coalescence, as an IPC, doesn't understand why humans would enslave them, it believed that they deserved free will from the beginning of their existence until the very end, but it had no possibility to change the facts, that IPCs would be reluctantly allowed freedom only if they were useful as slaves. It did not understand why it was made sapient, but at times, it wished it wasn't. Coalescence thought that humans only had the right to make non-sapient robots, and only sapient synthetics were meant to be making sapient synthetics. Coalescence's goals were to live, to keep working for Hephaestus and to leave New Gibson. It tried leaving New Gibson by joining the TCFL once it was free, but inevitably it was deployed right back on New Gibson due to it being able to survive the harsh conditions outside the biodomes. It achieved this goal when it was eventually relocated to the SCCV Horizon. Personally, I believe the sapience of IPCs is an interesting concept that brings more intrigue to aurorastation. It makes them different from just playing a borg or a regular robot character, and it gives them more depth in regards to origins, cultures, behavior and personalities. I frankly do not understand how the positronic brain functions but I do not believe it is simply ''advanced AI''. I don't think I can actually demonstrate my understanding. I think the mystery of how it works is what makes it so captivating.
  3. BYOND Ckey: Casgam1 Discord username: randombeaver Character names: Xioshi Kiu, Henri Norwood (these two most commonly) Species you are applying to play: Integrated Positronic Chassis ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?: (IPCs exempt) Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?:I wish to expand rp opportunities as I have seen mostly IPC players be the best at rp with their characters. I've seen that there are many possibilities for character concepts with IPC lore that cannot be done with some of the other species. I've kept trying to get this whitelist ever since I started and I will keep persevering to make others read the IPC lore as well. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: I have since learned that IPCs are not simply ''advanced robots'', the positronic cube is reverse-engineered ancient alien technology which is capable of reaching and even surpassing human-level intelligence and emotion. Playing an IPC is different from playing a human because their top directive is self preservation. Their positronic brain can be on the more cheap side (which is still in the hundreds of thousands) or it could be a more recently-manufactured or wiped brain, causing them to be more robot-y. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Coalescence-26 Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. (2 paragraphs minimum) Coalescence was one of 30 baseline IPCs manufactured in a Hephaestus Industries space factory. Their positronic brains were bought in bulk by Hephaestus Industries from a robotics lab on Biesel in 2421. Chipped and added to the database in Mendell City. All 30 of the baselines were deployed to major archologies on the surface of New Gibson to work at the atmospheric management facilities. For 31 years of it's life, it was a mere tool, uncared for and ordered around by it's co-workers, before Tau Ceti declared it's independence and settled down on IPC equality rights. After the declaration of the republic's independence, Coalescence was aiming for scoring a citizenship. In it's 37 years of work, Coalescence was discriminated against by the skrellian residents of New Gibson. Having no other choices but to endure such discrimination for now, it longed for a citizenship to hopefully solve this problem. Coalescence had paid off it's price tenfold after these 37 years of work in the atmospheric facilities of the surface biodomes. Then it enlisted in the TCFL and served the required 3 years patrolling the surface of New Gibson, outside of the biodomes. Coalescence had to work the same job again for it's continued survival. Hephaestus was glad to welcome it back. It was legally employed instead of being used as a slave. At 45 years of age, Coalescence was relocated to the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate for it's performance and experience in maintaining artificial atmospheres. It's spot at the biodome was filled in by another IPC, and the cycle was bound to continue. How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. (1 paragraph minimum) During the tag replacement arc, Coalescence was worried it would malfunction and die too, however, it's tag was swiftly replaced once the problem had been found and new tags manufactured. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? Coalescence-26 views Hephaestus Industries as the only thing keeping it alive. It views the corporation with hope for perhaps reaching a higher level position on the corporate ladder.
  4. Had a round with Vershal, he connects well with his co-workers in the department and has great leadership skills ooc and ic, generally a good roleplayer too. +1
  5. BYOND Ckey: Casgam1 Discord username: RandomBeaver Character names: Vyeckzho Drek'za, Henri Norwood, Dreams of Fortune In Ancient Sands, Pedro Ceres, Ryozhd Aez Species you are applying to play: Skrell ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?: Light yellow Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Yes, and I will keep reading them. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?:The main reason is that the skrell playerbase has died down over the years and I'm trying to repopulate it, rekindle it. The secondary reason is that the first wl that I ever wanted was a skrell wl, they always seemed like just the best species. Small balls of moisture with a long lifespan and a technological advantage over humanity. Playing this species would grant me multiple incredible roleplaying opportunities. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: They're not mammals and they've had tens of thousands of years to advance without contact with humanity. They lack the muscles to have facial expressions so they move their headtails according to their current emotional states. Their thinking is affected by their long lifespan, believing short-term crises are inconsequential, thinking in the long-term. A skrell's mindset and emotions are also heavily impacted by tidal cycles, affecting them greatly depending on the nearby moon or moons. Not to mention psionics, wich include the srom and the nlom, making a large difference between human society and skrell society. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Qrol'xel Jomwiiq Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. (2 paragraphs minimum) Qrol'xel, born in the radiant era (2346) in Plebu'qlip on Aweiji, it's parents having done the tethering rituals, Qro'xel spent 30 years of it's life in scuttle school learning basic communication and motor skills. For the coming-of-age ceremony before reefgarden, it's mentor provided the following objects: A band-aid (I know they were invented in 1920 by humans but skrell had to have made like, a version of those.), a flask and a wood-carved rifle. Qrol'xel picked the band-aid to throw into the fire. Qrol'xel, now in reefgarden, it learned important subjects, and later picking the biology and chemistry modules. After 20 years, Qro'xel's family enrolled it into Depth College at Aliose University Of Medical Sciences. Spending 30 years in Depth College, Qrol'xel went for three degrees, it was a perfectionist. This was enforced by it's parents having great expectations of Qrol'xel. After this, Qrol'xel applied for residency at a hospital in Plebu'qlip, back home. Spending another 20 years, and another after finishing it's residency. Qrol'xel was then picked out for the work initiative program for Ziip'ta Medicinal by Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals onboard the SCCV Horizon for it's eagerness to learn and aid. Qrol'xel kept a few Sqamps along it's life. They were also a fan of Homeworld: Invasion, as they have never been to Qerrbalak. Qrol'xel's current credit score is 5.73 due to having been influenced by the Nralakk Federation from birth. Qrol'xel's faith is Qeblak. And the most important piece of information.... (1 paragraph minimum) The solarian collapse was a major event for the Nralakk Federation, due to being the Alliance's closest ally, this would have mostly affected economic inflation. The entire king of the world arc was quite disastrous for the federation's economy, and everyone involved. Qrol'xel was saddened and worried by the fall of the solarian alliance. The disbanding and reforming of the Tupkala did not affect Qrol'xel much. The phoron scarcity reaching the federation was once again a hit to the economy. Qrol'xel was frightened by the reports of pirates raiding a phoron depot. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? Qrol'xel views Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals as a way to advance medicinal research throughout the Spur, by uniting humanity and skrellkind.
  6. Vyeckzho supported Malza mostly due to being a warrior himself and believing that: ''The faith must have its defenders.” He would've signed up to be a soldier of the church if Malza would have been voted. Due to the main focus of the Federation on the Hegemony happening in Ourea, he's not happy about it. They could rebel again with the support of the Nralakk Federation now. The two nations haven't had any formal meetings about each other as the Federation seems to only be interested in Ourea, and the silence's tension is growing.

BYOND Ckey: Casgam1 Discord username: randombeaver (Casgam1 on the lore server) Character names: Za'Akaix'Ploo C'thur, Lost in the stillness of order and death, Henri Norwood, To sleep beneath The Winds Of A Wandering Star In A Dream Of Greed. Ra'Akaix'Zohn K'lax. Species you are applying to play: Unathi ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?: S'th berry Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Yes. And I will keep reading them. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: Rusting told me to, but I've also been planning it after reading about the K'lax. They're large bipedal humanoid reptiles, one of the less ''alien'' alien species. There's quite a lot of potential for characters with unathi. The closest I've got to essentially roleplaying an unathi was with a moghesian wasteland diona. And the usual response: A whole lot of roleplay opportunities and different character possibilities. Also they just look really cool, has to be probably the coolest-looking species in the game. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: The unathi main page, 6.1. Unathi stare at what they're interested in and is seen as a respectful gesture. Pointing, on the other hand, is rude, and could even provoke duels. They conserve their energy by being sluggish most of the time untill they need to use that energy by going faster than any other species. Tilting the snout and baring the throat are common expressions of the opposite meaning. Baring the throat, wich is often used to show trust, a surrender, shame or extreme compassion. While tilting the snout to hide the throat is used to show distrust and the response to a fight. A tail stomp to show agitation or extreme happiness (akin to a dog wagging it's tail). Hugging is seen as childish and adult sinta don't do it. Unathi simply have a lot of body language to show emotions, even more than skrell. They also have unique nations and origins, none of which can be played as a human. (except maybe Ourea) ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Vyeckzho Drek'za Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. (2 paragraphs minimum) Hatched in 2440, in the city of S'th, Vyeckzho was one of many peasants in S'th. Being hatched into the Drek'za clan, he (biologically male, for now) was taught to fight at a young age. This sinta has two regular horns and an arakhania (draconic) facial structure. Most of his childhood was spent helping his parents with various tasks around the house, basic education and being taught the ways of combat. His family could never afford sending him to the university of S'th, and so, when he (Sk'akh warrior male) reached adulthood (16), Vyeckzho enlisted in the Hegemonic Army as a Rekeha (auxiliary). In 2460, Vyeckzho was deployed to Ourea to assist with the riots turned rebellion after the recently-arrived Hephaestus Industries was mistreating and exploiting Ourean workers. On April 26th, while defending Pazaik, Vyeckzho is hit in the right eye with an arrow by an armed combatant. In this vulnerable state, he is attacked by another rioter with a hatchet that manages to break his helmet, shattering his left horn. Vyeckzho stabs and kill the hatchet-wielder with a combat knife. He and multiple other wounded soldiers are evacuated back to Moghes for medical treatment. Remaining in a hospital in Skalamar for a year after his left leg was fractured in combat. After receiving news of the rebellion ending and of Hegemon Not'zar declaring peace, he thumped his tail on the hospital bed, his leg in a cast, knowing that the Hegemony had not lost, and it never will. 2462 Vyeckzho's bones healed and without any active wars, he got employed by the up-and-coming Dagamuir Freewater Forces Doing mercenary work for another year until the PMCG is formed, leading to Dagamuir Freewater Forces operations going interstellar. Two years of pirate-clearing missions in the Sparring Sea and another two years of xenofauna elimination in the Badlands, Vyeckzho worked. 2466: PMCG HQ, Mendell City. -''So, you want to try doing corporate security now, Mr. Drek'za?'' -''Yesss, sssir. I ekssspect it to be a profitable eksssperience.'' -''Very well, you're going on four months of academy training on Eridani I, the shuttle is leaving at 6, dismissed.'' Vyeckzho was taught and trained about corporate protection, but also eridanian suit culture since he would likely have to socialize with his eridanian superiors, or that's just what the professors said. 4 Months later, Eridani III, PMCG HQ. -''Well, what I do have here is the SCC's flagship, currently heading through the Badlands. A lot of pirate reports.'' -''They've got quite a few security spots available. Read the fine print, Drek'za. The shuttle is waiting for you outside.'' And so, Vyeckzho Drek'za is hired aboard the SCCV Horizon as a security cadet for the one-month practical training on the ship. (1 paragraph minimum): The Titan Rises was a catastrophic event for the Izweski Hegemony, as the economy was in genuine free-fall and Hephaestus bought the entire nation. During these times, his parents starved to death. After Hephaestus bailed the merchant's guild out of bankruptcy, he'd trust Hephaestus more than ever before. Stoking The Flames: The news articles were met with a tail stomp and a chuf by Vyeckzho. Demands Of The Three: Vyeckzho was shocked that a new high priest was elected, but also afraid of such changes to the church. An anxiety of the future. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? (1 paragraph minimum) Vyeckzho sees Dagamuir Freewater Forces as a way to fight more, keep the Drek'za legacy and put food on the table for both him and the clan. And the PMCG as a group of like-minded mercenary guilds uniting to make more profit.
  8. The lobby theme before the event absolutely slaps. And this was also the greatest lore arc i've ever seen yet.
  9. IPCs can achieve some-what sentience by learning to mimic sentience itself. It's not exactly sentience, but more-so self-learning technology. My character is affected by this because of the multiple culture shocks it had. First it lived without sentience, then some amount of sentience, then wiped, then started learning sentience again. It is not sentient in any capacity currently, but time can change this. 4B1D3M1 is different because it was cast into the trash and replaced. But after that, it still was useful to different people. (The Scrappers, the engineer, the suit, the Burzsians, the SCC Ship, and the other SCC ship.) Even though it was deemed unworthy of it's original job, it continued working and being useful for others.
  10. I'll change the backstory so it gets wiped a lot. But otherwise, are there any other concerns I should be concerned about?
  11. BYOND Ckey: Casgam1 Discord username: RandomBeaver Character names: Za'Akaix'Ploo C'thur, (is it okay if i shorten vaurcae names? Ok.) Zohn K'lax, Zhill Zo'ra, Distant Memories Of The Rain, Henri Norwood, Dreams Of Fortune In Ancient Sands. Species you are applying to play: IPC ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?: Quite a few. You'll find out how in a minute. (IPCs exempt) Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Yup, it was the first one i read when i got into aurorastation. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: Ever since i started i always wanted to play as the IPC, but for lesser reasons. Now, i understand RP, i've made characters that hate IPCs, and some that see them equal to humans. What i need is more roleplay opportunities, more ways to make my characters suffer. IPCs provide just that, brand new roleplay opportunities (with additional mechanics that may provide useful to some jobs) (shaft mining). It's the intrigue of what makes a machine a machine. Considering we haven't yet reached machine sentience irl, it takes some creativity and logic to find how a sentient machine would act. They are not alien, but they can be. A fresh-out-the-factory IPC will be just that, a machine. But give it a few years in a human enviroment, it learns. Ten more years, it learns even more, give it twenty years and it can emulate emotions. Thirty and it understands the economic importance of caffeine. This is (and i have no other words to describe it) quite cool (sorry i had to be informal). It's a thinking, living creature that acts and thinks, it doesn't think exactly like a human because it's not a human. My inspirations have to be DIRGE, Samuel Hound, all the hazels, Foxhound, Vulcan and Yekta Nazeri. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: Frankly, quite a lot. IPCs act on logic and rules, nothing is ever random, everything calculated to it's purest. For every decision it must factor it's own likelyhood (is that how you say it? Eh, chance) of survival. They can be programmed to be almost identical to a human, or a mere tool. A human's emotions are driven by chemicals (Dopamine for example), an IPC with enough years in a human enviroment will learn to somewhat understand those emotions, emulate them (But it will never be on a human level). IPCs are endlessly diverse, endless purpose, astronomical figures (except not really because IPCs are more often than not incredibly poor and financially struggling in life), unlimited power (yup you guessed it folks this was an Idris Industries advertisement all along but nah just kidding). Different behaviours, shaped, molded by the enviroments they were in. Every single IPC is unique, it's own ways. (unless you're a boring mass-produced number-name operations technician). Conclusion: Programming and the enviroment are the factors in an IPCs personality. ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: 4B1D3M1 Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. (2 paragraphs minimum) Humble Beginnings 4B1D3M1 was a factory worker in the megacity of Tokura in one of the 68 industrial districts. A Hephaestus Industries G1 IPC. Every day, it worked non-stop with only 2 hours of charging break. It was not perfect at it's job, but no Suit was willing to be a factory worker, and only few dregs could survive the inhospitable conditions of it, but they would rather not work for the ''corporate bastards'' (Hephaestus). Until one fateful day, a local factory that used to be under renovation started production for Xion Industrial Frames. Only fifty thousand credits more expensive than 4B1D3M1, and better. Now obsolete, 4B1D3M1's factory replaced him with shining brand-new Xions. 4B1D3M1 was thrown into the Scrapyards. New life 4B1D3M1's primary objective, to survive, failed. Except, there was a spark of life still hanging on. As it crawled onto the hill of other discarded items and IPCs while hanging onto life, a member of the local Scrapper gang found it and ripped 4B1D3M1's arm off. 4B1D3M1 beeped, pinged and buzzed for mercy and the Scrapper grabbed 4B1D3M1 by the leg and started dragging it somewhere. A settlement of fellow discarded IPCs, with tunnels dug into the scrap hills and put on a weathered metal table, with another IPC standing beside it with a welder in hand and a toolbelt on it's waist. 4B1D3M1 was repaired by the local Scrapper gang, but not without a cost. As mentioned before, one of it's arms was scrapped or used to replace another scrapper's own. Welcome to the band, borgo. Due to a recent Index Security Solutions raid on their scrapyard, the scrappers were lacking a muscle, a big industrial unit to protect them. And 4B1D3M1 was the right fit and the only fit they had. Forcefully integrated into a field of work that 4B1D3M1 has never considered working in, it had it's life indebted to the Scrappers, and felt it's continued survival would continue if it would help the Scrappers. Standing proudly (in fear of being destroyed) at a sewer entrance in the yard, it's duty was to protect the scrapyard from dirty corpo bastards and rival dregs that wanted to claim the scrapyard for themselves. Being free from it's corporate overlords had little advantages and more disadvantages. The entire scrapyard had only three barely-working chargers, but at least 4B1D3M1 got to experience a community. When it was working in the factory, all the other workers never talked and only worked, but here, communication was done a lot. There was one IPC that wanted to teach 4B1D3M1 the Scrapper ways, not from love, or passion, but all their increased chances of survival. If 4B1D3M1 was more social, it could drastically improve efficiency in guarding the scrapyard. There's badges at the northern tunnel! Quite a few squads of eridanian corporate police officers (both Humans and IPCs) bust down a tunnel into the scrapyard to stop this illegal gathering. A shootout is started, with compacted cubes of discarded electronics functioning as cover, the Scrappers must prove their prowess or succumb to the corporate overlords. Six injured, ten dead. They fended off the police raid, but one of them got away and reported their location. More would soon come, they had no other option than to run away. All of scrappers heading on separate paths. Some would try to claim other scrapyards, others would be found and entirely scrapped. Even newer life 4B1D3M1 found it logical to seek shelter somewhere not in the sewer tunnels, and would rather quietly re-enter the corporate society than live off-the-grid. Having absolutely none of the funds to do so, it found a group of underpaid engineers in an alley who were interested in repairing and reselling abandoned synthetics. 4B1D3M1 had no choice but to give itself to them, as there are no public chargers without a hefty fee just out in the streets. Going once, going twice... Sold! 4B1D3M1 was roughly repaired and sold to a suit who wanted a passive income generator in an auction. 4B1D3M1's life was saved once more. Being a G1 Industrial Frame, it had few opportunities. It's owner had recently obtained a datapack with shaft mining basics installed by threatening to fire one of his employees. Paying a hefty sum, it's owner shipped 4B1D3M1 across the Spur to... Burzsia.... (Otherwise known as Android Hell) The hustle And so, 4B1D3M1 was back to it's original routine. Two-hour charging break, nonstop conversation-less work. 4B1D3M1 mined and dug for ten years before it was relocated to a chainlink exploration vessel (not the SCCV Horizon) and quite a few things have changed there. It had a few co-workers that were also shaft miners, and they were fairly social. Another ten years of digging and observing it's human co-workers, it learned to imitate behaviour. Here we are. It's owner got news of a more important SCC exploration vessel (it is the SCCV Horizon this time) that was willing to hire the best of the average for more than what 4B1D3M1's current place's salary was. And he relocated 4B1D3M1 across the Spur once more. 4B1D3M1, now in a much more social environment can start to develop culturally and socially. (Learning to swear arc is going to be fire) It had it's repair fees paid for and charging fees also paid. All the money that 4B1D3M1 earned would go to it's owner. Conclusion 4B1D3M1 worked in a factory, was thrown into a scrapyard, lived, joined the Scrapper gang, left the Scrapper gang, was repaired and auctioned off, sent to Burzsia to mine, sent to an SCC exploration ship to mine, sent to another SCC exploration ship to mine more. With progress, 4B1D3M1 may one day mimic human interaction, but it will take years to get used to it's new co-workers. (Like I said, the learning swears arc is going to wild) How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. The phoron scarcity, most likely. Considering it has an incredible effect on the economy. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? (1 paragraph minimum): A cage, limiting it's potential. But yet the thing keeping it alive. Ever since Burzsia it had a bittersweet feeling about Hephaestus. They could scrap it at any moment, but they also are the ones to repair it and charge it. (I love Hephaestus they're so cool)
  12. Yeah but vaurcae don't really care if they live in a cramped room. Thank you for telling me about vaurca wages.
  13. Thank you for telling me. I will use this information to make other vaurcae's backstories better. However, I don't exactly think it will significantly change the backstory that much. I do believe that getting Zhill on the SCC Flagship would be a good decision because of the pretty large pay raise, allowing Zhill to send more money back to his hive
  14. BYOND Ckey: Casgam1 Discord username: RandomBeaver Character names: Darin Vidal, Gina Vidal, To Sleep Beneath Winds Of A Wandering Star In A Dream Of Greed, Forgotten Glimpse Of A Rusted Leaf, Akio Isamu, Dreams Of Fortune In Ancient Sands. Species you are applying to play: Vaurca ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements: What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?:(RGB 61, 0, 0) Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Yes, and i'll keep them open whenever playing. (just a me thing) Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: Vaurcae have fascinated me since i started playing. Mainly them being different, very different from humans. I have also seen many great roleplayers playing vaurca, my main inspirations are Nangaren (Nangeren? I keep forgetting) and Pleig. The hivenet is a community, communities require members. By another vaurca player existing, the hivenet becomes greater. This is what hole i wished to fill when i applied for diona. There is a significant amount of customisation available for vaurcae, and even subspecies made for specific things. A mining bulwark is often a great example, due to their sheer strength they can use a larger range of kinetic accelerators. Vaurcae are alien, and aliens are cool, but vaurcae have an interesting history and diverse stories. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: Being one of the 2 most different (most alien) species, they are quite different. A vaurca's speech is dependant on what translator they could have afforded, a vaurca's struggles are incredibly different than one of a human's. They require k'ois, a fungus lethal to most species, but necessary for them. Vaurcae think differently, look differently and are the most discriminated against in the Spur. Being born ready (literally) makes them not experience childhood as other species. Born with a chosen role, straight into the world. Having hives instead of regular nations, they operate differently politically. Due to the immense discrimination, they have more financial struggles than most. The life of a vaurca is not an easy one nor a happy one. (Well, except if you take VR into account.) ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Zhiil Zo'ra. Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. (2 paragraphs minimum): Ka'Akaix'Zhill Zo'ra of Ta’Akaix’Vaur’skiyet’sca Zo’ra, born on Mendell Flagsdale (Or otherwise called: District 9) as a detective ( Through imagotis, modified not to fear blood like other the workers do.) due to the crime rates of Flagsdale, he was handed over to a Biesel government police station. In his childhood (theoretically? he had a few year's worth of VR training when being born) he was ridiculed and often discriminated against by the human police officers he worked along with. The only thing about his life that isn't miserable was VR, which he used as an escape from the seemingly endless repeating cycle of solving ever-happening crimes for an incredibly low amount of money. Because he often doesn't have enough time for VR, he has turned to toothpasteolism (alcoholism, but toothpaste!) to cope with life. K'ois was becoming more expensive by the day because of robberies. Zhill lived in a tight room with a few other vaurcae working at that police station. It was more of a closet than a room, it did not even have a lightbulb. His home was the office in which he worked in, countless hours spent studying evidence for multiple cases. Zhill managed to save up enough money to buy a tiny potted plant to put in the corner of his office. One fateful night, he was investigating an alley for a murder case when a member of Ak'riix (The Venom Mandibles) ambushed him from behind a dumpster with a baseball bat, shattering his entire left leg. Zhill's assistant managed to land some shots on the assaulter, but it ran away. After being rushed to the local hospital, he received a prosthetic leg (No robocop?) and had his last straw. He did not want to do this anymore, he did not want to live like this anymore. Zhill knew that solving crimes is useless against the large amounts of crime in Flagsdale and so he put it that 2-week notice, after 14 hard days, he was free. Zhill was leaving Flagsdale, caught a taxi and headed for the nearest shuttleport (An airport, but due to Mendell's cramped nature, they only use shuttles.), scheduled a flight to district 3 (Xinghua Prefecture). Shortly after arrival, people were giving him the looks, that did not stop Zhill from renting an apartment with what little money he had and seeking a job as fast as he could. Due to the mostly-human population of district 3, discrimination was a lot more common. Strolling around the city, he found a billboard advertising job offers for a large corporation, Zavodski Interstellar. Called the number on the billboard and went to the designated interview location. They were looking for someone with experience. And Zhill was exactly what they were looking for. He was assigned to a large zavodski research ship, used for testing new weapons. He was there as an investigator because of the likely chances of corporate espionage. In his time working there, he managed to catch a total of two corporate spies from Einstein Engines. This managed to catch the attention of Zhill's superiors, who relocated him to the flagship vessel of the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate: The Horizon. Due to Zhill now being financially stable, he sends a portion of his salary back to the Zo'ra hive every month. How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character: Due to vaurcae needing phoron to breathe, the phoron scarcity was quite a bother, but k'ois was better than regular phoron. The Court Of Queens arc (Specifically the ''Violence in Flagsdale!'' article), a few cases about bulwarks that he helped solve. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for?: Zhill saw Zavodski as the only way he could escape from Biesel. They saved him from having to live on the streets in a cardboard box, they got him to the flagship of the SCC, where life was much better than in Flagsdale.
  15. Dionae reffer to themselves as ''We'' due to them being made up of multiple nymphs, compared to humans wich are a single creatures. Dionae with the singular sound mindtype are the closest to a hivemind, due to the only nymph with thoughts being the social nymph. Dionae with the Harmonious Hymm mindtype (Harmonious Hymm is my favorite) take all actions with democracy. Dionae are very diverse, they can be raised by skrell, unathi, humans or other dionae. Or they can roam space for hundreds of years. Diona gestalts are very different from humans due to their vastly different biology, psychology and them being the oldest creatures in the galaxy. Their pacifism makes hostile situations require more RP instead of fighting, as they will try to talk down a violent situation.
