BYOND key: GregorySmash Discord name/id: gregorysmash Borg / AI names: i got some IPC: Alpha-16, Delta-42, Omega-404. Some AI names i could like include: O.M.E.G.A Operational Matrix for Enhanced Generalized AI Have you read the Aurora wiki page about the AI?: Yep, Fully Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: partially because when i first began playing SS13 i wanted to play as the AI and even the urge persists. The best part about playing AI though is the roleplay and this server certainly allows for that aspect to expand and grow into something far better. Beyond roleplay, the gameplay of the role is quite entertaining. Monitoring everything from the camera system and helping everybody you can is a fun gameplay loop and i can see myself fully enjoying this role Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes, and i have (jasorn2024 -11-24 05:42:16 Stop DC'ing without going to cryo or ahelping, ESPECIALLY as very limited roles such as Paramedic. Last warning before you recieve jobbans from such, or otherwise ban from the server if it continues past that) I have a good arguement as to why this can be ignored for my application, generally when i have roles which require me to commit large amounts of time to them i wait untill a time I can commit, For example leadership roles in CM i often wait untill i have large open time frames to play making me remain conscious of my actions allowing me to not disconnecting mid round. Also i have grown and believe this wont be a problem in the future in general, you may think that’s not much time to grow but I hadn’t played for awhile so I forgot but now that I remember it won’t be a problem Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Of course Notes: by the way this server is more of the type i play when im motivated to so i don’t have many consistent hours but i joined this server many moons ago. Im most avaliable for the interview at 3PM - 9PM CST

If you require more please ask Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? not recent enough to matter Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? i understand

BYOND Ckey: GregorySmash Discord username: GregorySmash Character names: Delta-42, Alpha-16, Ka’akaix’siix C’thur, Za’akaix’Xiiz’ C’thur, Ka’akaix’Kiiz K’lax Species you are applying to play: Dionae ------------------------------ General Whitelist Requirements What colour do you plan on making your first alien character?: Default with a light tint Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: i have Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: I joined as a ghost role nymph and i have fallen in love with the mechanics ALONE for just existing casually with as a single nymph and this species is hard to write a backstory for and name everything but in the end it will be worth it and i have been looking at the species before i got my vaurca application which after that i got my IPC app and there was a gap in time before and after my vaurce and IPC applications so its been awhile and another reason is because i cant join the round as a character if i know i will have to interact with a diona because i have been looking at the species for awhile and seeing one makes me want it more taking my attention away from the game What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: First off your nothing like the other species your not one and your never alone because your built up with multiple smaller creatures called nymphs you also have to roleplay certain mindtypes there are easy ones for people who dont want to be restrained to a certain behaviour but some like the one in my application is incapable of speech due to losing the nymph who would speak for them also called the social nymph another very important thing to think about while playing is their conditional pacifism its not that they cant be violent but its that they dont feel the urge to be violent it is completly under their control wether or not to attack and they have to figure out if thats the best course of action for the collective ------------------------------ Character Application Character Name: Continuance of Memory Echoing in Eternity Continuance of Memory Echoing in Eternity was a nymph which came into life during the middle of the torture of the pests of titan prime they were with the maintenance subcluster and nearly immediately was absorbed into geslate. The name of this geslate is lost to history, but they were happy as they could be in this situation, getting along well. They were led by a single nymph who had them doing quite well physically, but a few workers spotted them and got some warriors to deal with them. If it hadnt been for their pacifism they would have fought back but they both understood they couldnt win and they didnt want to fight them in general The geslates scattered, hiding among the mess and in the small crevices. During the attack, Continuance’s leader nymph was destroyed. When they regrouped, they realized this and panicked due to this event they had become Tumultuous Tacet Instead of Tyrannical Tune. For a while, they were barely in shape and required the assistance of others to survive. Soon, they got their act together, acting like normal and surviving without help. But one prevalent issue prevailed, they didn't speak, each nymph had no idea what to say, So they would remain silent. When continuance was informed of their freedom they watched as the others dealt with the politics considering they lacked the ability to communicate they couldnt add anything to the negotiations so they left for bisel where they went to district eleven they took this time to learn via other gardener geslates they learned enough that when they applied for nanotrasen as a gardener claiming they were educated with forged documents they were able to pass a entry test for the job there was nothing big to note during their life in district eleven continuance prefers to be around dionae but overall the species of another doesnt influence the chance they will like them that of course does not include vaurca this is due to their life being spent with dionae and being persecuted by vaurca and the rest they barely know they the reason they want to work in hydroponics is because they want to grow and bring more plants into life and be surrounded by it rather then being surrounded by death they do not believe in a religion this is due to their history with the vaurcae and this is due to their belief that no aware creature would do what the vaurca did to them they were pretty un happy about the idea of somebody doing this they didnt let themself enjoy their surroundings until they were hired by nanotrasen but when they did they were amazed How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. Continuance choose to forget about most politics but they couldnt stop themselves from watching the news because they wanted to see more but when they heard the Zo’ra hive had made a new form and its supposedly able to fight and is stronger and taller they were unhappy and they were less happy when the C’thur began to claim they made it first and there was a theft continuance knows that violence with the vaurca is a bad idea but vaurca on vaurca is worse they would keep making new bioforms and eventually one would win and be ten times as strong as they were before the war and they are just as concerned that the hives are coming together again if the Zora told the others of the pests maybe they would make another bioform just to kill off all the dionae that escaped this is another reason they wanted to work on the horizon they think it's safe due to its good reputation How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? They view it as a tool to learn and explore, and also as a way to maintain a sense of security. As such, they view it quite positively. They can't really tell others this viewpoint, though, due to their lack of speech. Generally, this is another reason why they respect the corporation, as it has been a huge help. Because they assisted in creating some form of communication somehow for the interview.

they understand in my opinion the point of command and what he does with his whitelist does not matter aslong as he is meets the criteria +1

GregorySmash - IPC application Attempt two!
Gregory replied to Gregory's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
There was a distinct change in Alpha's behavior specifically they began to act calmer around humans treating them as closer to equals rather than masters before they would likely be quick and do everything they were told but after they only do something if they feel it is in their best interest which does account for the emotions of the other this also is shown by the fact alpha began to mimic human behaviors like slang and will change their behavior depending on the individual to become more likable this is an updated way on how they act on self-preservation which is currently “seeing it as easier and safer to simply follow orders unless it risked their shell. and mimicking human behaviors to become more likable” -

One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: The slang interests me it seems usable in roleplay and i have to admit it i saw some IPCs and i noticed they have some great roleplay so i figured if i became one mayhaps i could join it also has some very interesting lore and mechanics and the entire part about how they act different from humans caught my eye the backstory for a synthetic is also easier to make then a bug and i also like the not feeling pain part because roleplaying pain is hard to do mainly though its the behaviour being the easiest "in my opinion" to roleplay Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPC’s do a lot different of things different from humans. IPC have slang for example they say Syn, Hu, Sk, Tj, Un, Vr, Di, and Anm which means Synthetics, Humans, Skrell, Tajara, Unathi, Vaurca, Dionaea as well as Anomalies. A important thing to note about IPC slang is that they mostly only use it in EAL. younger IPC’s tend to not understand human slang . IPC’s are also known to use words like affirmative and negative. IPCs dont feel pain so they wouldnt scream when they get hurt and if they do scream it is out of fear and newer IPCs wouldnt scream out of fear due to them not really knowing these types of reactions are a thing they could do as they start blank they as a species are also vulnerable to EMPs due to their mechanical body but they are not required to breath air. But despite this they need cooling to prevent them from overheating in space their lives IPCs are directed to keep themselves alive and safe aka self preservation but every IPC goes at this goal differently this could mean a security officer IPC could be going at it by removing threats from their location but a janitor would likely hide in the case of a threat and some IPCs are not designed to be able to socalise and mimic humanoids and as such will not seem very natural to humans IPCs in general are discriminate against most companies its really hard to get their own freedom but when it comes to hephaetus they are pretty good at it not paying them and when they would have gained enough money to buy their freedom they are allowed to try to get their own freedom if they succeed and stay with the company they will get paid IPCs learn through memories and experienced combined with datapacks datapacks are packs of informations that is either uploaded to a shell or Positronic Brain Directly Character Name:Alpha-16 Please provide a short backstory for this character Alpha-16 was manufactured on 2455/12/12 by Hephaestus and worked for Hephaestus and worked in Biesel. Alpha was given a Baseline Model IPC frame for work. For a while, Alpha would scavenge old shipwrecks with other IPCs. Eventually, they were sent to a moon to mine. Their job was to maintain the reactor in the base so the other IPCs could continue to mine. The transfer happened because of the unnecessary amount of scavengers already present in that system. They decided Alpha was less efficient in that regard. They gave Alpha a data pack for engineering and quickly shuttled them to the base, where the position had recently opened up due to the previous maintainer getting destroyed by a few humans. The humans were fined for the costs it took to make another, and nothing more, Alpha thought that this was very unfair considering if the same thing had happened to a human they would be punished serverly. The reason behind this job not being taken by a human was that the moon was very close to Tau Ceti’s star. It would be easier to only send IPCs to mine here. At some point, Alpha gained enough money to buy their freedom, and so they did. Alpha continued to work on this moon until they applied for the Horizon alpha did not want to work on the moon but it was their only choice or they would be fired and left to be alone in biesel which is a very dumb idea for a IPC alpha got the idea to buy their freedom when a second IPC was critically injured but not destroyed they figured it would be much safer for them and their shell if they were to obtain their freedom and leave to a safer location as quickly as possible the horizon was a safe place in their eyes. They were accepted due to their experience running a reactor, despite Alpha's very little interactions with other species. Alpha was very unfamiliar with human slang. This is why Alpha experienced less discrimination, but it does not mean Alpha was not discriminated against. Due to Alpha's arrangement, they never spent any time not working because they were important to the continued productivity of the mining base. However, they were not irreplaceable; they were simply forced to work nonstop. Maintenance was both what Alpha looked forward to and hated going to, as they liked getting repaired but hated how the humans treated them. Alpha tended to be a nice synthetic but could be kind of straightforward at times due to not needing to interact with humans very much. They had poor social skills when it came to communicating with humans, often remaining silent and following orders. This was also part of their goal of self-preservation, seeing it as easier and safer to simply follow orders unless it risked their shell. There was a short delay between Alpha purchasing their freedom and going to the Horizon, but because they still worked for Hephaestus, they didn't get to explore the world. During this time, they did see more humans, which, while not as bad as it was when they were a slave because they didn't own them anymore, translated into more violent measures. The repairs for these events were taken out of Alpha's paycheck. The main reason Alpha was discriminated against was that they were always rundown, and people liked to mess with them due to their less-than-fortunate issue with responding well to these people. Alpha often let it happen when they were a slave, and afterwards, they would ask it to stop, which they did not know only tempted them further. What do you like about this character? I like that they are a engineer for one because engineers are fun to play as and i also like their frame because i like the look of the baseline model i also enjoy how the backstory makes sense and is gives information on why the horizon saw them as a good fit for the ship's crew and i enjoy the fact they are free also its highly important to note that they spent little time around humans and as such does not know much human slang or emotional displays and because it's a pretty stable character and a good intro character into the species making my life easier and in my experience the application is the huge boost into the roleplay of the species but the practice in round is what truly makes a player a IPC How would you rate your role-playing ability?: im moderately good i have been improving Notes: thanks to the lore devs who helped me with this “Stryker and Syc mainly” and thank you lancer for giving me a good place to begin expanding my backstory

[Denied]GregorySmash - IPC application
Gregory replied to Gregory's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
hows this? What did Alpha do when they weren't working, for example? Alpha was almost never not working during the very few times they were outside the mining base they spent it getting maintenance on a nearby facility Did people only discriminate against Alpha because of the slang? : well it would be hard for humans to understand most of the slang considering most of it is spoken in EAL either way the large majority of his discrimination came from the fact he was a IPC in general Alpha at first thought that it could be related to his frame but he didnt have the money to change it but soon he found out that wasnt that case What is the story behind them transferring between the two jobs? There was a lot of scavangers already and they needed a engineer for the moon they planed on mining as the scouting operations found it to have lots of good resources so they transferred Alpha to that position instead Did they live in Biesel at all? Technically yes but they spent a large majority of their life on the moon they worked on because the company didnt give them breaks besides maintenance -

However, soon their TA decided it would be best if they worked outside the hive, as their work inside was not fully needed and would be easily replaced. They were sent to work for Zavod and were accepted as engineers, mostly all being assigned to work on the same ships and vessels. On rare occasions, they would be temporarily split up after a long period of time. For a worker, they were chosen to go work at the Horizon. Siix was glad to have been moved to a ship with lots of vaurca. Ka'Akaix'Siix C'thur values the unique strengths of each Vaurca Hive, believing that all Hives have something to contribute to a better future for all Vaurcae. is this a improvement? i believe this answers what you wanted siix spent most of his early life in VR training in trials during this time he also began to repair anything he could and working with power and electricity as such when he was ready he decided to work outside of the hive, he applyed for a job at zavod and was accepted as a engineer he spent a few months working anywhere he was sent usually working as a engineer for ships who had nobody else at the time He was ready to prepare for another relatively short job when he was informed he would be sent to the sccv horizon as his new position he was also informed it would be much longer then his previous assignments when he arrived he settled in pretty well and was happy to know he was not the only vaurca serving on the horizon. -

Harmony's Luminary emerged from the Dionae conglomerate known as Harmonious Hymn, where unity and peaceful coexistence were cherished. Their existence was shaped by a deep commitment to understanding and connecting with others. Born into a world filled with diversity and discord, Harmony's Luminary recognized the profound importance of connection and empathy. They chose a path to use their unique abilities for fostering mutual understanding and promoting harmony among species, guided by the values instilled by Harmonious Hymn. Harmony's Luminary's journey is a testament to the enduring legacy of Harmonious Hymn and their personal dedication to nurturing cooperation and unity in a complex universe. -

1. Would you say that the Voidic Proto-Culture affects your character? Or, rather a conglomeration of the Scientist's beliefs? I would say the scientists as most of the dioneas early years were spent outside of space 2. You mention the impact of the Coalition of Colonies on your Dionae. How would this be shown in-character? Glowing Light values cooperation with synthetics in the Coalition of Colonies, fostering mutual respect and understanding. 3. What mindtype is your Dionae? Singular Sound -

They also have a different way of learning and understanding the world around them, as they gain knowledge and experiences from the DNA of other species. Character Name: “Glowing Light of Knowledge”: This Dionae spent its early years on a research vessel, absorbing knowledge from the scientists onboard. It developed a deep love for learning and discovery, which is reflected in its name. Please provide a short backstory for this character: Glowing Light of Knowledge emerged into existence as a nymph within the nurturing embrace of a thriving Dionaea colony, nestled on the outskirts of a human space station. Unlike their counterparts, this particular nymph's journey began in close proximity to human scientists who were well-acquainted with the enigmatic ways of the Dionaea. The colony's proximity to humans allowed for frequent interactions, fostering an environment where mutual curiosity thrived. Glowing Light's early experiences were marked by a gentle exchange of knowledge and cooperation. The humans, intrigued by the unique biology of the Dionaea, welcomed their presence, recognizing the potential for mutual enrichment. As Glowing Light matured, their innate thirst for knowledge drove them to seek understanding and wisdom through interactions with various species. Their ability to adapt and learn from different life forms allowed them to appreciate the richness of experiences the galaxy had to offer. Glowing Light of Knowledge bestowed upon themselves this name as a testament to their unquenchable curiosity and their insatiable hunger for wisdom. It encapsulated their perpetual quest to illuminate the universe's secrets and their commitment to sharing the radiance of knowledge with all who crossed their path. Their interactions with humans from the CoC shaped their perspective on other species and synthetics, fostering a sense of respect and fascination. In terms of career aspirations, Glowing Light developed an interest in biological research. They aspire to join Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals, a research- focused megacorporation under the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate (SCC). They view Zeng-Hu as an ideal platform for their biological research interests and appreciate its commitment to scientific exploration. This aligns with Glowing Light's pursuit of universal knowledge and their goal to contribute to the scientific community. Their exposure to various beliefs and ideologies led them to develop a nuanced view of the Eternal or CT-EUM. They respect these entities as manifestations of collective consciousness but remain primarily committed to their pursuit of universal knowledge How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would rate my role-playing ability as pretty good. My biggest challenge is initiating a role-play scenario, but once I’m in, I perform well. Notes: This is my third application and I’m happy that my second application has been accepted. The Dionaea species wiki is very polished and I’m excited to role-play as this species. The last species I got was Unathi.
