  1. There is no hope for me
  2. Keyli S'epnok created her own pAI that ended up developing its own personality independantly, called her a "massive faggot", then uploaded itself to the galatic matrix to escape.
  3. Good plan but it was literally "Hey, come with me" "No" then violence. Ask Hypatia, unless there was PDA messages going on before hand that is all I was and still currently am aware of. I was trying to get to make her think Hackie wanted to know what it's like to be an IPC. Sadly, I don't think he caught on quick. The intent doesn't really matter when the shooting started nearly instantly.

  5. A lot of effort with drawings but also a lot of bullshit, I was alot closer both times and in far different spots then what you are putting drawing. We were further inside medical below the right corner of the front desk with ash on the other side. Equally in the halls you were directly next to me within easy disarm range and I was south of Hypatia. Check the logs if you disagree cause they will show you are wrong. Lastly, you "calculated" a plan on rushing effectively four armed security guards with guns out and one of them (me) reacted fast enough to try and stop you. Though, just saying, I didn't get killed by you shooting me. My injuries weren't even bad enough to have me bleed out, died to Mal-practise from a new doctor though so least I technically died somehow. Consider it collateral damage. It's also interesting how you claimed to have "rp'd" it and shown you weren't greytide by walking up to someone and saying: "Hey, come with me to robotics." "No" *pulls gun and opens fire* Seems right reasonable escalation of force to me. Great rp and I can see how you had no other choice so resorting to gun fire just outside medical was reasonable. Though me stripping you down to your skivvies was more a sake of expedience then anything else. I had to remove the backpack that had guns in it so I removed everything to save time hunting around for the backpack slot as Hypatia had a limb blown off and needed medical attention. I threw you into maintenance for security to pick you up since I didn't have cuffs. Also, if I'm reading the OP correctly you convinced tge non-antag Karnaikai to remove an unwilling players brain and effectively remove them from the round as nothing more then a transported (probably swearing) posi-brain. You are also ignoring the fact that your "calculated plan" was RUSHING THREE ON DUTY SECURITY OFFICERS WITH GUNS OUT AND ONE OFF-DUTY SECURITY OFFICER CARRYING LETHAL GUNS (that were yours) AND A FLASH. I did all caps and used everything so it couldn't be ignored further seeing as you definitely will have seen this fact by now.
  6. He bum rushed three (technically four) armed security guards that had weapons out and in there hands. If anyone is guilty of rambo-ing its him, I tried to disable him because icly he was obviously insane and at the time both ic and ooc I thought he was going to start shooting us on the spot. Also, he was directly next to me then moved two tiles from me when he stole the guns off the armed security guards, who had there own guns out, I figured I could disable him before it got worse. The only reason I didn't disable him the moment he walked next to me and tried to disarm Ash is because I wasn't expecting it as he ran in and wordlessly started disarming.
  7. Kind of a moot point when I highlight the fact the first time he opened fire he was literally right next to me while my flash was in my pocket close at hand.
  8. First time I flashed him he was within 1 tile of my character and didn't have sunglasses on, his complaint there is invalid as he pulled a gun within arms reach of a (technically) off-duty security personal who had a flash. After disarming him and taking his gear I left to turn in his guns to the actual security. Then the guy rushes three security guards and me completely unarmed to take his backpack back after I robusted him for damn near randomly shooting Hypatia's foot off for saying no to coming with him. I was 2 tiles from him before he opened fire after stealing his guns back, I was hoping to catch him before he could kill us because at the time he was playing a bald assistant that literal shot Hypatia for refusing to come with him once. I assumed grey tide and my character is security trained. From a roleplay standpoint a madman shot her friends foot off and was disabled then rushed four armed and trained security guards with no weapon. Why would I bother to let him get away or take him seriously ic if A) I'm a security guard and he is close to me while I'm armed and B) He is obviously insane and will hurt people, meaning he would open fire on Keyli and her friends Ash and Hypatia regardless of what happens. Antag or not his escalation was far to fast so he came off as murder boning and/or greytide. Summary: He got robusted after escalating far to fast, tried to rambo three SEC officers and an off-duty SEC officer (me) and got killed for his efforts.
  9. On the subject of playing to win I've always had the same approach with a severe minor exception. I personally approach with roleplay but when its time for robusting or combat go for the throat. I'll use examples of situations I've rp'd before. Examples: The round type is vampire and my objective is to assassinate Ted Grimsby (the psychologist), I know him ICly already and through bouts of heavy roleplay lure him to a secluded spot. At this point Ted knows OOC that I'm the vampire and is RPing it like a champ. Eventually we get to the make or break spot of physical fight as he tries to leave. I flash him, remove his radio/PDA, flash again, wire tie, then handcuff him to a chair in a matter of seconds. I don't give him the chance to scream for help or really put up much of a fight. The reason being is I don't want to lose because losing sucks. That said, after he was disabled he and I continued to RP, his resulting death was on of the most brutal and interesting antag momentsa I've witnessed. In the above example I went full probust mode once the rp led up to it, then rp'd even after my assassination target was ready to be killed. The player in question who controlled Ted thanked me for the expirence in looc afterwards. My conclusion is if an antag plans to use rp leading up to and after when the mechanics of fighting take over then by all means go full probust. Some players are unable to allow themselves to lose and will go to shitty lengths tro prevent it. Which brings me to the exception example. The round type is changling and my assassination target is a skrell CMO (no I won't name who) that unfortuantely is a heavy power gamer. Additionally I've seen the same character pulling out their PDA while having a gun pointed at them and messaging security for help. While they will rp and are generally rather pleasant they do not like losing to the extreme and will go to fun ending lengths to avoid it. As such I did not use any rp or attempt to until after I disabled them. The rp afterwards was good as I gave them a chance to convince me not to end them, allowing them to argue ICly for their lives. Though I ended up consuming them it still had a good amount of thoughtful RP. My conclusion drawn is some characters cannot be approached rp wise or realistically because they will powergame. That said, it doesn't excuse me to powergame back. I merely adjust my approach and shift the rp to after my objective is accomplished for the sake of my own fun. I do not have fun if the moment I try anything the entire station knows I'm an antag because my target went straight to screaming over the radio. Essentially meaning being robust and even forgoing rp is sometimes neccessary for the sake of completing your objective because certain players are shit. Most are not and can be rp'd with easily in antag situations. When combat commences the expectation is that it was rp'dup to before hand, and will be rp'd after, /not/ that rp will happen during combat. As for the subject of whitelist I would say that is an absolutely terrible idea in my opinion. The reason being is restricting antags to only people who've applied will repel new-comers to the server. Additionally while it gives the thought "Will my antag actions remove me from the white list?" it also will restrict who can be an antag based on their methods of antagging. Take the above examples for...example. If several people have a problem with my method of probusting it could stop me from being antag for what is considered unsavory tactics. That however is not my main reason for opposing the idea, it mainly boils down to the "smooth operator" versus the "agent loud" approach. I myself have round start antagged only eight times in my year of SS13 play time, of those eight times only once did I "go loud" and that was my very first time. Everytime I was a "smooth operator" and completed every objective without anyone knowing. My targets and accomplises gave some good rp as I did my work but otherwise it was business as usual. Every round in which I was antag the game was essentially rp-extended for everybody but those directly involved, which isn't very exciting. Due to being a decent antag I never go loud and because I'm a decent antag I would apply for the whitelist. Conversely a shit antag goes loud, they blow stuff up and get people involved through the slapstick shitfest that is their antagging. When you are security or even crew that can be really friggen' fun. Bad antags, or great antags that like to go loud, have a special place for fun rounds. A whitelist app would remove all but the most serious antags, which are not always online and tend to lean towards being a smooth operator. It is my belief a whitelist app would technically improve the quality of each individual antag, but would severely limit the fun for certain jobs like security. The occasional clusterfuck can be quite fun.
  10. Glad its approved, apologies for the late reply my $1200 computer I bought last month turned into a $1200 brick due to the motherboard shorting. Won't have it fixed until Tuesday 11/17.
  11. BYOND Key: Kazkin Character Names: Shysie Inexprime Species you are applying to play: Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): White, possibly Ivory due to being the M'sai sub-type Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: My main reason is I had a concept for a character that fits perfectly with existing cultural and racial customs of Tajarans. My current character (Shysie) was originally a mime on another server I ended up enjoying greatly because of not being able to speak. I took a long break from SS13 and now that I've come back I'd like to player another character without speech, the M'sai tajaran have invented their own form of communication (Nal'rassan) which mainly employs body language and remaining silent. This gives supportive lore reason as to why my character will rarely, if ever speak, which is what I'm looking for. Additionally up until this point I've only ever played IPCs, borgs, AI, pAI, or Human. I'd enjoy trying something new. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Rolling the "r"s in conversation is the major one, with third person reference to themselves. Additionally most Tajaran from what I have gathered tend to lean towards more liberal mind sets from their home planet and a lower level of learning due to Nanotrasen and corporate interest as keeping them as a source of cheap labor. Political mindset usually ranges from a communistic or even anarchist approach but that is more a social thing than specific character detail. The after math of war still present within much of the rural areas of the planet would also give Tarajans a first hand point of view when it comes to violence at a large scale. Character Name: Anja M'risek S'epnok (Note the middle name won't be on my player character, that is just the clan name) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Anja was raised within Adhomai for most of her early life living within one of the larger cities. Education provided by Nanotrasen and other corporate giants allowed her to distinguish herself in the area of information technology. While she was never top of her class her natural skill in the area of programming, computers, and robotics afforded her a scholarship funded by Nanotrasen. Eventually after obtaining a Bachelor's Degree is robotic engineering she was hired by Nanotrasen. Unfortunately due to rigid department restrictions (or so human resources say) she was hired first as a security guard, after a brief training period she maintained her role as security personal for several years before transferring to research and development as a roboticist. Her proficiency in the area allowed her to take shifts within engineering in addition to robotics. However, despite her relatively productive work in each area her chance at further advancement is slim due to her refusal to speak. Even in situation where speech is expedient or required she still choose to converse in what Tajaran call "Nal'rassan". That said, she has learned sign language and will sometimes communicate using it should her native method of speech fail. However, all in all her continued support of Nanotrasen and work performance have proven a welcome asset to Nanotrasen. What do you like about this character? My main like for it is that I had an idea I found fits within the lore perfectly without coming out like a special snowflake like my current character Shysie. Just a regular Tajaran that unwittingly fits the stereotype of her ethnicity and makes it by with having a knack for machines. I also like how the lore supports remaining silent, which is fun for me because its an game for the brain to explain how the slimes broke out of xenobiology and have killed half the science staff using nothing but hand gestures, body language, and facial expressions. Equally I've found it makes it easy for others to roleplay off of because it gives them a chance to lead the conversation. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Decent, I like to follow the lore and play rather normal characters lacking in anything special. Though this character will likely have above-average skill set I justify it because Tajarans normally have to work quite hard to get above menial labor positions. Notes: I should note while I am a long time SS13 player I haven't been on the server long. I only recently got back into SS13 after a nearly eight month break and I'm eager to find a server to regular in. I like what I have seen so far and quite enjoy the heavy roleplay atmosphere and player count. If I need to play a bit longer before this can be approved thats fine but I'm a really chill guy ooc and don't tend to cause much of a problem ic or ooc. I just want to play an interesting character and have fun with others.
