Implement Skrell Shared Dreaming
TehFlaminTaco replied to TehFlaminTaco's topic in Completed Projects
Kaed it is currently implemented as such. There is aluminum headwear that also needs to be added, which blocks the ability to commune, and thus, the ability to enter the Srom, which could be used to silence a skrell who's been kidnapped. As of now, it's just relying on no-other skrell to be in the Srom during kidnappings. -
When skrell are unconscious, they enter a state of shared dreaming called the Srom (As in the current skrell lore) Also while in shared dreaming, they are compelled to tell the truth, and will occasionally physically mumble out what they are saying in the dream. The below PR adds an implementation of this. (I was asked to make a suggestion.) https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/5707

Player Complaint - Resilynn
TehFlaminTaco replied to TehFlaminTaco's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I do really want to stress, not only did they contact me during a round, literally said my RP was shit and thought apparently I was okay with that, but they also openly admitted twice to using OOC information regarding who was playing characters to control who they interacted with as an antag. Her line about "I would never have picked her because she is on my 'not good to RP with' list" is, unquestionably, Metagrudge. -
BYOND Key: TehFlaminTaco Game ID: bXz-a4ET was 2 rounds after, but that round also contained argueing. (The previous round crashed seconds in) Player Byond Key: Resilynn Staff involved: N/A Reason for complaint: Resi was the antagonist, a Ninja, with a Gimmick of going to individuals on the station, and telling them to pick a name. If they didn't, then they'd be murdered. Otherwise, "whoever they picked would be murdered instead". Off the bat, this smells like Murderbone, their goal was to get someone killed, even if the crew keep pawning it off to different crew members when they themselves are picked. This is an Unhealthy gimmick by design. The First crewmember that they asked pawned the death of to Willow Harper (AKA, Rosetango) who being Willow Harper said the name of the Ninja. Resi took this as an excuse to try to murder them. After outrunning Resi once, Willow was caught unconsious and dragged out of surgery whilst her chest was open, and murdered. Fantastic RP oppertunity right there, killing the unconsious person. And then she set off to hunt her next target, which was myself. I was asked who I wanted to name, and not wanting anyone else murdered, I also chose the Ninja. More importantly however, is I had an assembly that was relaying everything I said to RnD, so I was aware security was inbound. They started by pulling out a gun and Accidently shooting at me, to which I tried to delay them by saying that they should fight hand-to-hand instead. They agreed, charged me, but I grabbed them. This made them drop their pistol, so unsurprisingly, I shot at them. This made the drop their esword, and they disappeared just as security arrived. Shortly later, they return, and splash Chloral(?) into my characters face, and then try to kill me again. One again, fantastic RP oppertunies, as Resi has shown during this round, and then security managed to move in much faster. Conflict happened, I was dragged out, they were shot to death. This would have been the end of it, but they proceeded to, during the round, heckle me in discord. (chat provided as screenshot below). They told me, "Shit Fear RP", and expressed that their reason for picking both their targets was OOC motivated. We argued, but just tried to leave it as it was. Come the end of the round, Resi proceeded to call out both Me, and Rosetango "Without naming names" as shit Fear RPers. I spoke out against this, explained what happened, and that Resi had been harrasing me on discord, and argueing continued over OOC into the next round. After some argueing, we were recommended to make it into a player complaint, and thus. I am upset at this because firstly, Resi made a gimmick which revolved around Murder, which, by nature, is Murderbone. They selected targets to potentially murder based on OOC criteria. They harrased me about IC situations in an OOC channel during the round, and refused to Ahelp instead, and they called my reponse "Shit Fear RP" because I would not satisfy what i can only see as a disgusting power fantasy. "Obey me or die." Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? No, issue was considered not worth escelation during the round it took place. Approximate Date/Time: 29/11/2018 3:50PM ADST

BYOND Key: TehFlaminTaco Character Names: CH.RL.S, Angus Zhao, DRUID, Blunky, Gorge Harrold, System Crash Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Black Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Skrell are an interesting race, with a unique culture that I would like to be a part of. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Skrell are the Squid Vulcan's of the Spacestation world. Although they seem cold and calculated, it's because they're unable to express their actual feelings without the use of their main language. The Ideal Skrell Role-player masters this alien culture and method of communication without forcing their human ideology onto their character. Character Name: Wiop'Xi Jruop Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Wiop is the Skrell of the STARS, and for as long as they remember they've wanted to be able to go where-ever they want, nothing able to pin them down! Born after the Glorsh-Omega Singularity in the year 2322, Wiop was exposed to the Second Space Race at a young age as Skrell colonies tried to glue their federation back together. The moment they could, Wiop pushed to get into The Grand University of Gliutip'lzay to study the Sciences of Space Flight. After a long push, they finally managed to be enrolled in the year 2382, where they dedicated their time to their study before Graduation in the year 2405. Wiop would spend the next couple of decades aiding in research on a Contract-by-contract basis across the federation. After Humanity was contaced, and Bluespace was discovered, Wiop quickly changed from simple Space-flight to Bluespace Research. They wanted to be the one to Master Bluespace, And push the Federation into an era of Bluespace based Translocation. Wiop grew up in a Post-Glorsh society, He never directly had reason to fear Synthetics, other then the stories that their parents told. They don't have an enthusiastic distrust of machines, but they know that they're supposed to. Xi'Quiup Iruop was Wiop's father, a Scientist who Wiop held in high regard. Xi helped Wiop during early studies, but did not make it to his graduation, having died the year before of natural causes. What do you like about this character? Wiop is a bright character who's enthusiastic in a world that's supposed to be very dark for their species. They're quick to trust, potentially to their own downfall, Their innocence is one of my main pulls. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'm confident in my ability to play a character, no-matter how alien it is to me as a person. I avoid projecting. Notes: I prefer to make a character as I play them, and learn them as I go. Backstory is one of my weaker suites, so forgive me on that.

BYOND Key: TehFlaminTaco Staff BYOND Key: ReadThisNamePlz Game ID: bVV-aBdF Reason for complaint: A Normal round as a cargo tech was put to a halt by a raider incursion, which in itself was no issue. Antags happen. The issue was when the Raiders restrained the now hostage cargo by dislocating all their limbs. The intention obviously being to stop them moving or escaping. This itself acts like a more powerful form of restraint than something like Cable Cuffs or Handcuffs, or even a Straight Jacket, being the most powerful way to stunlock someone other than sleeping toxin or straight up murder. I tried arguing the point that I felt this was powergame, and eventually made an adminhelp about it. The staff member who responded said that it was fine, because they didn't bring restraints, and then shut me down from any attempts to argue this point, and told me to make a staff complaint if I felt otherwise. Evidence/logs/etc: Images provided in Chronological order for convenience Additional remarks: You wouldn't allow a Security officer to use lethals because they forgot their taser, why should raiders get away with using the obviously more powerful dislocation technique, taking random crewmembers essentially out of the round, when they could have used restraints instead? It's not like they couldn't make cable restraints, even if they only did so after the dislocations.

As Teh Flamin' Taco, Nacho's Brother, I can confirm this warning was for actions I did, and was assigned to my account, but also my IP. It has previously been acknowledged that both me and my brother play here, and we should not be considered the same person. -
[Approved] LordRaven001's IPC Application
TehFlaminTaco replied to LordRaven001's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
More Lore Judging because that's what I do. Emergent's hijack a shell in order to exist, and aren't ever intentionally constructed. Also, they're not the most legal of builds, deriving from code that happened to arrange itself into personality, they are unregistered and aren't usually intentionally sought out due to their unpredictable and general uselessness. -

You sure an Emergent or Uplift model wouldn't fit a dual personality better? Bespoke are supposed to still resemble mass produced models... -
BYOND Key: TehFlaminTaco Character Names:Cassandra Lawson, Charles Harley Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes, brass bilberry. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've played IPCs on other servers, in particular, Best RP and Unbound Travels (Both of which I was the lead developer regarding the race), and they've always been my favourite race, due to the stoic personality and general being a machine-ness of them. Essentially, I wish to rebirth my old character, as I've not had the opportunity to. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Integrated Positronics can be played a few different ways depending on their origin, but generally speaking they are stoic machines that prefer analysis and risk assessment rather than emotional drive to control their thought process. Positronics will prefer to protect themselves over those around them, and are quick to abscond from conflict. Depending on various factors including age and construction style, they will begin to show Emotion, whether that is real emotion in the case of Cyborgs and Uplifts, or the sociopaths representation of emotion based on what they believe is normal. Similarly, they will also bias towards a gender, but not necessarily. Character Name: CH.RL.S Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Can I just provide my Tahleenah Bible? CH.RL.S is a pale orange bespoke positronic produced on Mars, initially designed at request for usage as a cargo robot, mostly doing stoke take and heavy lifting. As such, their frame is designed with vertical lifting in mind, and not much precision, causing them to avoid using ranged weaponry, and often fail with delicate tasks. After finishing their relatively short time working, they were released from work, and were forced to find alternative work to keep their cell charged and their hull clean. Eventually, they found work with Nanotrasen, obviously as a Cargo Tech. After receiving an actual paycheck, the decided to invest in Cyan paint, and coated most of their body. Future paychecks went almost entirely into ensuring their chassis remained the spectacular colour of blue, which he felt was significant of his change of employment. During his spare time, CH.RL.S would often practice with electronics, taking a specialty to the careful intricacies of wiring, ensuring that whatever he would do would show a level of aesthetic beauty. Lined up in careful rows, matching symmetrical colours, and that in the like. Soon, they met with a fellow Bespoke positronic under the designation of "Ansible" who showed a unique fascination with the a RIPLEY Mech which held the name Tahleenah. Ansible claimed they could speak with through the mech with a being sharing its name, and evidently, the cause of its name. The being was said to be "Trapped in Bluespace", and was a machine, which could use Bluespace to interact with them through all of space and time. Whether or not this was true is irrelevant, but CH.RL.S quickly began following Tahleenah, and would associate most things going favourably with Tahleenah or Bluespace, a worship as such. Tahleenah became the guiding force to most of their choices, although still tending to his hull painting, he would attempt to 'inform others' of the Tahleenah, calling themself the Bishop. However, time passed, and Ansible was eventually lost. CH.RL.S's faith in Tahleenah faltered. Although it never died, they became a lot less enthusiastic about their worship, and left it more as an idle deity then a devote worship. Of course, they still believe most fortune is due to Tahleenah or Bluespace. What do you like about this character? CH.RL.S an enjoyable character due to his irrational worship combined with stoic calculated thought makes for an interesting combination that allows for unique roleplay with other characters. Also, Wire art. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I find myself a fairly good roleplayer, preferring commitment of a scenario than personal success. Although, I also find myself exceptionally biased, and unable to accurately rate my abilities. Notes: I was the lead developer behind IPCs on BestRP and Unbound Travels, and was the cause of them having the ability to beat things to death by detaching their arms and putting them back on, as well as them critting from power loss. IPCs are my Baby. I wrote a bible?
