Conspire2Ignite
Basic Information Byond Account: Conspire2Ignite Character Name(s): Kay Lee, Park Lee, Scarlet Kent, Into The Eternal Void AI Name(s): RONI (borg/pAI) Preferred means of contact: BYOND message, Forums (I spend more time actually on SS13 than anything else, so if you can't find me here, I'm likely dead to the world), Steam is a good last-ditch effort Age: 18 Timezone: GMT –6/CST When are you on Aurora?: After school until bedtime on weekdays. Hard to not to find me on during weekends. Experience How long have you played SS13?: About three-four months now. I used to play a few years back and I've thankfully retained a lot of that general gameplay knowledge. How long have you played on Aurora: The whole few months I've played, actually. I haven't ever been on any other server, aside from a round of CM. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I know enough to be able to apply bovine scatology to the rest, if I needed to. Hopefully, I won't ever need to, because I am an expert in finding things on the wiki. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Not in the slightest. Though I do have experience leading a roleplaying group on another game/forum. It was nice, until I was the only leader/founder left and there was no one else willing to help me keep it going. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No, and if such a thing were ever to occur, I would wallow in shame. Personality Why do you play SS13?: Why do you play on Aurora?: These two questions are one and the same. Honestly, I came because I was looking up new RPGs to play (that worked on a terrible computer) and I stumbled across SS13. It surprised me because, hey, I had already played that game before! I remembered how nice it was until I had to leave because of some changes I certainly didn't like on the RP server I was on. So I decided to come back and, choosing at random, I picked Aurora. I came for the roleplay and I stayed for the wonderful community. I don't see myself ever leaving. If, God forbid, Aurora were ever to vanish, then I, too, would fall into the shadows. What do moderators do?: A tough question. Allow me to give a very philosophical (and convoluted) answer. There is a park. I enjoy the park. You enjoy the park. It is a profoundly beautiful park, we agree. You and I see someone handing out maps for the park. It may be easy to get lost in this park, particularly if it is your first time in it. You and I see someone littering in this beautiful park. Someone happily comes by to clean up the mess and chastises the litterbug. We hardly even notice. The beautiful park is all we see. We bask in the sunlight. We lie in the cool grass. We watch leaves on trees sway in the wind. We can do anything we like, but we dare not smudge its beauty. But there is always someone making sure the park stays as beautiful as we see it. There is always someone handing out those directions. They may not be in charge of the park, in charge of the topiary, in charge of the finances, in charge of the park events. But they are important all the same. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Aurora is a beautiful park. One of the most beautiful I've ever seen. The bushes have been shaped as Skulls (not as daunting as it first appears), I have Pumpking pie forced down my throat for every meal (wouldn't have it any other way), and the very ground beneath my feet is literally being held up by blood rituals performed in the dead of night by the Sound of Scopes (again, not as daunting as it appears). If there is any way I can help keep Aurora preserved, I will gladly do so. Even if it's not as a moderator, I'd like to take a more active role here. Maybe plant some Trees. Why do you want to be a moderator?: It means I can finally give back to the community that's become a large part of my life at this point. Though the ebb and flow of time may change my priorities, the thought that I might be able to make a positive impact was enough to push me to apply even though I know I'm not the most qualified applicant. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I'm the calm, persevering sort. I'm perfectly willing to put in whatever time and effort necessary to learn what I need to know and to apply it to each situation that requires my attention. But I'm definitely not all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips. I have an allergy of keeping important things serious, such as this application. It makes me physically uncomfortable if a situation is without lightness or humor (though not while roleplaying, oddly enough). I'm not the person to talk to about feelings or life problems. I am the person to talk to if you need facts. Directions. Tips on gameplay or roleplay. If something goes wrong on my watch, you can make damn sure I'm right there helping to fix it. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I have three basic emotions: Content (90% of the time), Euphoric (5%), and Annoyed (5%). I cannot, in living memory, recall a time I was ever angry. I'm easy-going and very laid-back, so things don't ever really get to me. And I'm able to juggle a rough senior year at school, college applications, and poor health pretty darn well while still having a ton of time to RP. Stress? I eat stress for breakfast. Actually, I prefer cereal. But you get the idea. Anything Else You Want to Add: I'm about as blank of a slate as it gets. I won't have to be untrained in anything. My mind is open and my thoughts are clear. Aurora is my home. Home is where the heart is. I follow my heart. (It's easy to track because it crawls slowly and leaves a noticeable trail.) Thanks for taking the time to read my application. I really do appreciate it. Link to comment
