MarauderW
BYOND Key: MarauderW (marauderw)Character Names: Dragos Andriciuc, Aurora Azsharizelle (yet to play).Species you are applying to play: VaurcaWhat color do you plan on making your first alien character: Ta'Akaix'Scay'extiih'aur Zo'ra unbound worker RGB 51, 158, 11.Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: When playing games, I always loved the idea of playing a hive mind. From the Zerg to the Starship Troopers bugs and many other similar creatures (Stellaris, Endless Space, SoTS), I found the idea of striving to do good for the good of the colony / others a really good example of a true space faring species. The many ways to roleplay them is amazing. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Oh where to start? I guess the most obvious one is how they speak, the way they function mechanically and their view on the world. They form bonds based on something us human's can't comprehend (which is why I want her to work in botany, due to the "smells" that she can... smell, and the perogative of her mother to... evolve), they have a religion which is practically their love for their hive, reimagined, and the relationship between their hive and other hives are so complex and liberating that anything can happen! Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Tyrane Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character Ka'Akaix'Tyrane Zo'ra, born on New Gibson to Ta'Akaix'Scay'extiih'aur Zo'ra, is a recent addition to the hive. This worker showed great promise in gene weaving, and had gotten the attention of Ka’Akaix’Nolnz Zo’ra. Early in her development in the VR world, Ka’Akaix’Nolnz Zo’ra noticed that Tyrane had grown attracted to the gene weaving of plants, specifically going to the VR's many environments not to test species, but the basic compositions of the world that surrounds her. The smell of the trees, the taste of their fruits, the different biological compositions that, if shifted by only one DNA strand, could create something so enriching, so enticing to the senses, that other Vaurca would gather and share in her newly found spice. Eventually, she left the promised safety of her VR world to explore, identify and bring back as many of the universes different biological flora as she could, striving to improve her hive's well being through genemapping and genemanipulation of flora. She shifted from serving the hive to employment well. Initially confused at the complicated process of the simple act of going to work, once clarified, she is now eager to bring her specialised knowledge and pragmatism into the Botany/Hydroponics department aboard the N.S.S. Aurora. What do you like about this character? Tyrane has a fascination with plants, which I can't wait to explore in Botany! I never played botany and I think her connection to nature as well as her unique biology, hive type and the loyalty to her queen will provide some interesting interactions! Every one of my characters is focused on one job and one job only, it's why I decided to try a different take with the biology department and move away from playing a human. Botany is remote enough and quiet enough to ease me into playing a Vaurca. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I am middle-upperish. 7/10, possibly more but there is always room for improvement. I know for a fact that I rush to respond and don't really have a lot of patience to wait for others to respond, and I am working hard on improving that! Notes: This is the first time I apply for something like this, please do not hesitate to provide as much feedback as you can! I will strive to improve as I go on! Bygonehero
I love. Love creative writing. I don't particular care if someone gets every story beat down, but you....you did that and more. An excellent first application, and and I am proud to see you writing more. Application accepted! Link to comment
