Regarding Heist

Alright, we've all had this situation, right?

Vox try to enter station.

Security says "Lol no, register first you furry fucks.".

Vox eventually get in the station.

Security has a BF, arrests the vox.

People get fed up with sec, vox are fed up with people, sec is fed up with everyone.

Round ends with people complaining.

Rinse.Repeat.

So, my proposal is this...

Allow Vox to register to enter the station as traders by being able to take a star map of the area around the NSS Aurora, which would be in areas like head offices, around the station and possibly orderable. Vox use it to update a star map in their own skipjack, they can take it to the Icarus (Would just happen in a ten minute set time, and they wouldn't really send it to the Icarus.). Vox come with shiny IDs saying trader, set up shop, have happy vox funtime RPs.

Wouldn't that make it "trade" instead of "heist"?

Don't really have much to add to this, besides my agreement with this question.

The Vox are amusing enough in themselves when communicating with crew that I'd be fine with the hilarious shenanigans they get into. Heist is basically just 'nuke ops with kiki', and the recent shift away from violence to just doing ridiculous trades (like demanding a rubber ducky for religious reasons) is entertaining.

ofc they still have the option to go in as burglars. We just need a way for legit (Or faking legit) birds to get past the sec stonewall.

This sounds like something that will have to be solved IC'ly, by crew putting trust in the Vox, which they have done a few times.

All it takes is one robust-happy security officer. The last Vox round was derailed when a /cadet/ sparked a fight, and the Vox left. We tried to get her fired but the round ended.

Actually pulling a heist as Vox is a lot harder then trading.Vox are more or less poorly equipped nuke ops when it comes to that.

I suggest giving them some supplies to help them actually run around being stealthy, such as a cryptographic sequencer or some smoke grenades.

That's typically all it takes for a situation to get BTFO of proportion.

No...I don't want uber-sneaky birdmen that go sneak-sneak around the station and silently take people out and steal shit. That's not fun.

Neither is doing the trader gimmick for THE NINE MILLIONTH TIME EXPECTING SHIT TO CHANGE DIFFERENTLY.

Idk about you guys, but I enjoy antagonists that pull something different off each time they play it.

We can't all be original every single time.

It doesn't have to be original. It just needs to be interesting and engaging for most of the players in the game, and the suspension of disbelief shouldn't be the defining attribute for heist.

Sec is allowed to tell the Vox to fuck off if they feel they're a security threat. This makes sense.

Sec is also allowed to not give a single fuck. This does not make sense because they should at least be doing their job keeping an eye on the intruders.
