Null Void Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) During my last, and first game as Chaplin, the first thing that happened was being held up at gunpoint by a rogue security officer after I invited him into my office as we had no confessionals. Security was quick to respond and no harm came from it on my end but still, Later on another person came asking for access to my office for confession, but I had to turn him away as I had already been attacked once following a similar scheme. Now this isn't me petitioning something for my own safety. this is me stating my disappointment at the missed RP opportunities these situations provided due to the lacking of such things. a confesional is about the safety of those involved as much as privacy, after all. As such I ask their consideration in the next map reworking. Thank you for your time. Edited December 16, 2019 by Null Void
AmoryBlaine Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 A confessional partially forces a set belief system on to the chapel. Confessionals don't need to be in secret, you can do them face to face.
Null Void Posted December 16, 2019 Author Posted December 16, 2019 This is just as much for the utility aspect however. as I said, this would have allowed opportunities that didn't have a chance to happen.
Kaed Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) I remember in the (baystation?) maps of old the confessional was basically a meme zone for antags to hide in because it had no camera coverage and most people forgot it was there due to it never being used legitimately in any round, because the chaplain remains the fuck off and die alone role in almost every round unless they are a xeno character, who have much more fleshed out and concise religions instead of the unfocused melange that is 'human religions do whatever you want lololol scientology/pastafarianism time'. And they would not use a confessional. I'm not really super interested in re-introducing the concept of an isolated 1-tile room that people can hide in inside one of the least frequented areas of the station, catholic religious overtones aside. Well, that's why I said there's the option of just having them face to face. I've done that with a Catholic priest IRL- a few times, actually. There's no need to add something that's associated with Catholicism, Christianity, in particular.

Yeah, back when we had our's it was never used outside of people hiding in them.
