Chada1
Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): System? I guess.Describe this proposal in a single sentence (12 word maximum): Adjust a lot of the stuff on the wiki mostly. How will this be reflected on-station?: It's mostly wiki changes.Does this faction/etc do anything not achieved by what already exists?: Yes, very much so.Why should this be given to lore developers rather than remain player created lore?: Because it really can't do what it's supposed to do if it does.Do you understand that if this is submitted, you are signing it away to the lore team, and that it's possible that it will change over time in ways that you may not forsee?: Yes absolutely. This is a continuation of the loved thread: See Here. This was called into question recently and I think it's important to revisit and clarify it. The old thread detailed the goal, bring life to Tau Ceti by establishing a Sister Station to the Aurora, the Upsilon. This did work to a medium extent, and the Upsilon is still liked by a lot of the playerbase as I understand, but the interstation relations still need clarification and expansion -- Namely, it seems people think the Aurora is still the top of the line, technologically edgy research station it used to be, when the thread intended directly to turn it into a more multi-purpose Service/Research Station that still did very important research but not to the same scale. (Which I was under the impression was accepted by the Loremaster at the time ?), this can be solved by making the edge the Aurora has on the Upsilon in research be recognized as different, I mean it's at the source of the Phoron, it has xenoarcheologists, xenobiologists, miners, all kinds of varied personnel. As a field phoron research facility, it makes complete sense. And that goal would still enable it to be a multi-purpose facility that isn't JUST research so this idea that events and other stuff wouldn't be hosted on the Aurora because it's a research facility will finally be squashed as the original thread was meant to do. The dynamic between the Aurora, Upsilon, would be related to supply and location. There are other Stations too which could be explored, I'll put them in the dynamic too. The Aurora is at the source of the Phoron supply chain for NanoTrasen and Tau Ceti, which the Upsilon desperately needs to function, and ships it upwards to Upsilon on a shift-by-shift basis in a standard corporate transport chain. (This could be where the cargo ships filled with Phoron go. ?) The ERT has also been mostly removed from the Romanovich cloud and stationed in the vicinity of the Upsilon. (This is in a news article already as can be seen Here.) The Upsilon is more heavily equipped to do research in general, but lacks the field research capability that the Aurora has due to being on the other side of Tau Ceti, near the Odin, and not within the Romanovich cloud, and has near none of the civilian facilities the Aurora has. The discoveries and artifacts/anomalies the Aurora discovers are shipped towards the Upsilon for analysis, which puts pressure on the budding Scientist on the Aurora to be thorough in their analysis else their thunder be stolen by the Upsilon crew. The Exodus could be an auxiliary station of the Aurora and do research too, but be in general just a much lighter equipped station in comparison. Basically just a waypoint between Biesel and the Aurora. In Conclusion, just make the Aurora not just a mining/research station, it's also a service hub (FOR THE ROMANOVICH CLOUD SECTION OF TAU CETI) and extremely important as a PR Station since it's v. popular with Biesel citizenry/internationally, and that's p. much how it keeps an edge over the other stations and stays near the Upsilon in Station rankings even while it can't Really match them in research ability. The Upsilon remains in need of the Aurora too despite it eclipsing them in research ability since it desperately needs the Phoron the Aurora produces. Any discoveries the Aurora is expected to make are field research in nature (Hence the need of Xenobiologists, Xenobotanists, Xenoarcheologists/etc) which explains a whole lot in a grounded-Lore manner like it was always really meant to do.
