Geeves has a Patreon

Hello. As you all probably know, I'm a volunteer developer for this server. That generally means that I code for this server, yes. Along with that, I do it at no cost, as most of my fellow developers do.

As you also know, 2020 is a fuck. A big fuck. In this recent month, I had a bit of a life event (not directly related to COVID-19) which caused me to lose a large chunk of my income.

SO! For that reason, I've decided to create a Patreon, I figured it would be a good idea, I guess. Here it is: https://www.patreon.com/geevescode

Why do I have a Patreon? Well, I need some sort of stable income which makes me feel less guilty of spending so much time coding.

Will my content be paid only now? Yes! No. I'm a volunteer developer. I do not expect to be paid. I love this server and its people, which is why I have poured and intend to pour more of my effort into it.

Do I do coding commissions? Yes, I actually created a Paypal for it. Usually I settle commissions in my DMs, which is: Deciding what the commissioner wants and when they'll pay me (on merge, on code completion, upon dev review, etc.). Commissions are an immediate cash boost, while a Patreon is a stable-ish income, both have their uses.

Will you implement my request if I pay you? I'll do anything for $100. No, most likely not. I'm still in a position where I have to consider what's healthy for the server over what's healthy for my wallet, which sounds cliche as fuck, damn. I hate it.

Do Patreon members get explicit benefits over other members of the server? Absolutely not! Unless my increased love and affection counts as a benefit. I still offer my services to non-paying members. That being: My volunteer developer duties (DUH), tutoring people who want to learn how to code, helping people with their Unathi whitelists, rating your shitposts, etc.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for those already supporting me. I appreciate it a ton. More shitcode to come from me. Lots more, hopefully.
