[Denied] Caelphon's Vaurca Application

BYOND KEY: Caelphon

Character Names: Some of my more played characters include;

Tiiquu Xii-Quualt (Captain, Skrell)

Roheen El-Razan (Head of Personnel, Tajaran)

Amani Rrahakaslav (Detective/Bartender, Tajaran)

 Alfarzi Sa'tak (Nurse, Unathi)

Withering Caretaker of those Harmed (Chief Medical Officer, Dionae)

Species you are applying to play: Vaurcae

What colour do you plan on making your first alien character: RGB 150, 180, 255

Have you read our lore section's page on this species: Yes

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.

Why do you wish to play this specific race: My primary reasoning for applying for the Vaurcae isn't in order to play, but more so having a better understanding of the lore and character concepts of it. I wish to work with the Vaurcae Lore Team and *not* be a complete idiot when I create lore that leads to meaningful interactions between the C'thur and Skrell.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I mean, theres a lot. Firsly, they are one of the "newest" species to the Orion Spur, and as such will have vastly different experiences compared to other species.

The species also operates along a caste system; Bound, Unbound, Warriors, Breeders, Lesser Queens and High Queens. Whilst the Lesser Queens and High Queens aren't playable, the other castes are so uniquely different that each Vaurcae is different to another.

Also, concepts of religion/culture/biology are MASSIVELY different to any other species, especially humanity. They BREATHE phoron (and oxygen, but the phoron part is more important), the stuff that makes engines work. They live at most 20 years, but that doesn't mean they die. Vaurcae have developed incredibly advanced technology that allows them to continue to live, despite their material body perishing.

                                                  CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Quuv C'thur

Character Background: Having spent much of their existance within the Lesser Queen Mouv's virtual reality as a Lin'tiyakt, Quuv was well-versed in almost every aspect of vaurcaesian data mining; quickly becoming a reknowned name across the reality it found itself entrapped within. For decades, Quuv remained within Mouv's virtual reality, tutorted by Vezaz, doing all that they could as a Lin'tiyakt. It wasn't until the a near-death experience caused by anti-hacking software that prompted the Vaurca's desire to explore the outside world.

Six months before its release to the Orion Spur, Quuv began their journey of learning tools required for its success outside of its luxurious safety net. Their birth, and subsequetly crucial months following resulted in them attempting to adjust to their new augments, namely the one capable of language production of the most frequently spoken one within the Jargon Federation; Nral'Malic. Successfully, the Vaurca managed to integrate within the society it found itself within, namely as an assistant to a Ruupkala. The skills of the Vaucae gained through its time as a Lin'tiyakt allowed it to quickly flourish within the ranks of skrellian intelligence gathering.

By 2461, Quuv had become renowned throughout the Ruupkala. Their skills equivalent to two Skrell gleaming information simultaneously. Alas, unbenownst to the Jargon Federation, Quuv had been shifting information along to the C'thur assisting a notorious Skrell that eventually attempted to break open the Tzquul Archives through the use of artificial intelligence; Nliix. Soon after the detainment of the other Vaurcae, Quuv's involvement quickly became known - and in an attempt to not face penalties for their assistance to the C'thur, fled to Tau Ceti.

Quuv remained on Luthien for almost two years, working alongside the humans in their labs within the poles, before eventually leaving the planet. Quuv eventually stumbled upon a Mouvian Hive located within District Nine, slowly integrating into the community as they were welcomed back into the fold after a grueling two years of working alongside mostly humans.

By 2463, Quuv has managed to secure a position as a Lab Assistant aboard the NSS Aurora. Only time can tell what the future holds for this Vaurca.

What do you like about this character: I like that Quuv includes both skrellian and vaurcaesian qualaties, which I believe has yielded a unique mix which I am hoping to show should I secure the whitelist.

How would you rate your role-playing ability: I do not particularly like rating myself, but I can say that I will attempt to accurately portray this species to the best of my abilities.

Lack of replies makes this tough.

Quuv sounds more like a skrellian name than a vaurcese one. Minor nitpick.

I feel weirded out by the concept of them being an assistant to the Ruupkala. With that degree of authority and control, would they just let Quuv... go? After all they've done and seen, working as an assistant? No one is going to chase them down, and the Skrell aren't going to have Quuv return through leveraging the hive? Especially since Quuv's involvement, as you stated, was known?

If Quuv shared the information gleamed from working with the Ruupkala in good faith, not intending for anyone to misuse it, or perhaps slipping up and broadcasting a little too much info, I'd be comfy. I'd also be comfy if Quuv's involvement in the act wasn't known, because there's no reason for the Jargon Federation to not threaten the hive if Quuv didn't return, and there's no reason they wouldn't give chase. Vaurca need k'ois, k'ois aren't everywhere. Eventually Quuv would have to return if the Federation kept chasing them out of places with easily-accessible k'ois and phoron.

NT would obviously have reason to hire Quuv. Quuv holds knowledge on the Jargon Federation's intelligence agency. But I don't feel comfortable authorising THAT sort of heft and political weight to a character.

Luthien is also home to Zo'ra. Why would Quuv stay with the humans there and not the resident vaurcae?

I don't plan on *playing* this character, at all. It is meant to be a way to convey my understanding of the species. As an assistant, Quuv would more so be privy to communications, between departments and whatnot. So whilst not handling things of suuuuper great importance, they still were able to gain information in regards to listening posts and whatnot within the Jargon Federation.

Of course, that was my original idea; they were just trying to do it in good faith. I was wondering that instead of fleeing, they instead felt as if they required to be exiled? Like they had done wrong, and as such felt as if they shouldnt remain. This also add into why they'd work with humans, instead of other Vaurcae.

No edit, no feedback, I don't rightfully want to accept an application for a character that won't be played. I'unno, it doesn't really sit right. Too ambitious a character on top of that.

Application denied. You're free to reapply whenever you like.
