DrFarson - Head Role Application

I have to echo some of the sentiments of others in this thread. I've seen Farson around quite a bit and I have concerns about your ability to separate IC and OOC. Just last week there was an incident in round where a cargo tech was arrested for stealing like, 30 credits worth of tips in front of the Captain and several other witnesses. Farson raised a ruckus ICly when he found out (which is fine), but then after the conclusion of the round he took it into OOC, questioning myself and the Captain OOCly as to why we had them arrested. It wasn't necessarily a hostile interaction or anything, but it raised my own antenna to the concern that this is someone that cannot separate the IC behavior of a character from the OOC player, which would be an issue for playing command.

After some consideration, I've decided to deny this application.

I think that you are capable of a better level of roleplay than you put out now, and I think that it's important for you to spend some time improving before we give you a command whitelist. The people commenting on your application are correct when they say you take things very personally. Switching into looc/ooc channels when you are confused about something icly isn't really what we want to see from a head of staff. When spoken to about it, you often claim it's for "insight", however any insight gained from an ooc means cannot be used icly. How would you feel if a CMO corrected you on a procedure icly, and then switched into looc to explain what, exactly, you did wrong, or to question you on why your character did the things they did. It's an ooc channel, it's not meant for justification of actions, and players shouldn't be expected to justify their actions oocly in-round unless they're speaking to an admin in a ticket.

I think you need to work on seperating both ic and ooc, and show us that you're really capable of doing so.

Make some other characters, branch out from a singular department and facet, and I think you'll understand what I mean.

You can feel free to reapply in the next couple months when we can see that you've changed.
