Outboarduniform
Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Insurgency/Lore Addition Short Description: Basically, there was no lore for the Samaritans and such, so I decided I'd try and explore the idea a bit. I also did quite a bit of fleshing out of other things on Mictlan, and might have changed a few things, but overall I tried to work off of existing lore as much as possible. How will this be reflected on-station?: I don't think it will be too much! Unless antagonists decide to start repping Mictlan jihadism or Mercs do it as a gimmick. Mictlan doesn't make too big of an appearance though from what I've seen overall, though, onboard. Does this addition do anything not achieved by what already exists?: Yes! So far only about two or three sentences have been written about the insurgency, not including a small part of the Peacekeeper Mandate lore articles released! Do you understand that the project may change over time in ways that you may not foresee once it is handed over to the Lore Team? Yes! They are free to do with it whatever they want to if they decide to accept it. Long Description: Introduction: Mictlan, the idyllic tropical vacation home. What little land exists on the ocean world is covered by thick jungle brush, with the coasts shimmering with resorts of all kinds, attracting tourists of all species, from all over the galaxy. Corporate sponsors, executives, government officials, and the wealthy upper-crust class of the planet have utilized all of their wealth and energy to create their own paradise. From the glass towers of Arequipa, they watch the world below, reaping the benefits of their status, and the Republic decides policy, quite literally, with its head in the clouds. To those who visit Mictlan’s resorts, one could feel that it is beyond words, a world of tranquil bliss in the stormy sea of the galactic struggle that surrounds it, and the epitome of the human longing for utopia. However, those who do not live on Mictlan do not see the reality of being a native of Mictlan, and how the common person lives their day to day lives. Dotted throughout the planet are the massive cities that rest atop the water, leaning on the great plasteel shoulders that support them. This is where the great majority of the population of Mictlan works, suffers, and toils. The population that resides in these great cities, for the most part, live in various different sized communes, and often great numbers of houses are connected for convenience. The streets, along with most of the buildings within these great cities are colorfully painted over, or tagged, and typically most roofs have large greenhouses on top of them. The colorful and placid atmosphere, almost celebratory in nature to the glimpse of an outsider, betrays the true nature of life on Mictlan. Private businesses are ruthlessly crushed under the boot of Idris Corporation, the dominant Megacorporation on the planet, and, frankly, its de facto ruler. The government, thoroughly in the pocket of Idris, even allows the company to decide on legislation in its governing body, and gives their private police forces universal jurisdiction in their operations across the planet. While a small number of corporations manage to hang on by the skin of their teeth, the corporate ladder has become so institutionalized that those who fall out of favor with Idris usually end up unable to make a living at all in the stratified state of Mictlan society. Wayward travelers, and tourists who become enthralled with the image of Mictlan and decide to immigrate, end up shocked to find themselves in the lower echelon of society, being subject to abject poverty rather than the tropical paradise they had dreamed of. Underneath the surface, discontent simmers and crackles, and all it needs is a single reason to spark up into a fire which cannot be extinguished. Spoiler The Republic: The Republic of Mictlan was formed out of the ashes of a failed revolution. When Sol reestablished order, it sought to create a political situation in which a similar event could never again occur. To this end, the Sol Government drafted, edited, finalized, and presented to the colonists of Mictlan the constitution in which they still use to this day. In the Constitution, it is written that it is forbidden for the Republic to revise, edit, or otherwise change any part of it without the direct consent of the Sol Alliance. After the shock of the depression, the Sol Alliance made various crippling concessions on behalf of Mictlan to the Idris Corporation in order to secure fiscal stability. Additionally, the Sol Alliance would reserve the right to revise the constitution at will, without needing the consent of the Republic itself. Even with Mictlan being absorbed into the fold of Biesel and the SCC, the constitution has yet to be changed or amended in any meaningful way. The Republic has an elected Prime Minister that serves for 10 years, who picks his own Deputy Prime Minister. The current Prime Minister, Ladislao de Santos, is currently serving his ninth year. Unlike other Republics, Mictlan elects their Prime Minister through the Senate. In Mictlan, the only way for the average person to have any say in how they are governed is to rely on the Senator(s) assigned to their city. The only popular votes held in Mictlan are also held at the Senatorial level, except in the case of the corporate seats in the Capitol. The Prime Minister is elected a full year before his inauguration, which takes place January 1st, directly after the previous Prime Minister leaves office. The Cabinet, although staffed by Senators chosen by the Prime Minister, are always beholden to their Corporate Advisors, supplied from Idris Corporation, as they must agree on matters of policy before it can be implemented. This was one of the various concessions given to the Megacorporation by the Sol Alliance. The Republic is ruled by a Senate, with each floating city being allotted one Senator. Senators are elected for a term of one year. The prosperous coastal cities are, as a compromise, allotted ten Senators each to account for the disparity between the number of floating cities and coastal cities. Lastly, the Capital of Arequipa is allotted an astonishing 50 Senators, with 40 being reserved solely for various representatives of the different branches, functionaries, and offices of the Idris Corporation. The agricultural communities, and the small inland towns and communities that do exist, while smaller than the coastal and floating cities, still make up a significant portion of the population. However, they receive no political representation at all. The writing is clear on the wall. The Republic of Mictlan was never built to be a functioning government, and likely never will be. The Judicial Branch of the government, consisting of the Court of Cassation, is small, and considered almost with sardonic disinterest by the Senate. Judicial matters are typically handled exclusively at the City level, with only a few higher courts that cover massive sectors of the planet, and only a very few cases ever reach the Court of Cassation itself. The Justice system, overall, however, lies criminally subverted by the Idris Corporation, who enforces their own view of justice with their private police, completely bypassing the Justice system. As yet another corporate concession, out of the 6 Justices that serve on the Court of Cassation, 3 are reserved for representatives of the Idris Corporation, with the remaining 3 being selected by Senatorial vote. Due to Mictlan’s unique terrain, an archipelago, containing islands considered agriculturally unsustainable, has become a prison colony in all but name. Multiple massive prisons dot the islands, towering, well maintained, and totally isolated from the public. Rather than running these prisons themselves, Mictlan has totally given the operation of the prisons up to the Idris Corporation, who happily use the prisons for both official and corporate purposes. Spoiler Law Enforcement: For most of Mictlan’s history, it did not have a civilian Law Enforcement agency. Rather, it relied on its Colonial Defense Force: The Mictlan Defense Force. Originally, it was created as an auxiliary services and policing force to assist the Solarian occupation after the defeat of the revolution, but eventually became the sole policing and defense organization for the planet for well over a century. Eventually, however, it became less and less effective as a police force over time as the population grew, and with the logistical issues of being responsible for law enforcement on every floating city on the planet, it became clear that a new system needed to be emplaced, and eventually, a civilian law enforcement agency was formed. The Civil Guard was the name of this police agency. It is the sole Law Enforcement agency throughout the densely populated floating cities, and the smaller agricultural and working communities outside of the coastal cities. They are recruited locally, are funded locally, and run by the local government. Regrettably, it receives little to no funding from the Idris Corporation, the main benefactor to the public institutions of Mictlan, who instead funds their own private police forces, who are entrusted with the policing of the coastal cities, and the security of the Capital of Arequipa itself. Like all other institutions, the Civil Guard is hopelessly corrupt, and those who climb to the top are almost always in the pocket of Idris, or are relatives of prominent politicians. Typically, the main focus of the local Civil Guard is not the welfare of the city they patrol, but offering lucrative protective services to the management of the Idris Corporation, and to protect their property and the flow of their products, for a price, of course. Regardless, The Civil Guard still retains its spot as the most prominent law enforcement agency on Mictlan. Unfortunately, with the new arrival of SCC and Biesel influence, this may not remain the case for much longer. Spoiler The Military: The Mictlan Defense Force, or MDF, is organized along the lines of most modern Colonial Defense Forces. The only major difference would be that it does not have a Navy in orbit, relying on Idris to perform that function in its entirety. Given the nature of Mictlan as a garden world, and the influence of Idris Corporation, it is considered to be one of the best CDFs around. The arrival of the TCFL and SCC has only bolstered their logistical capability, and they utilize the best equipment available on the market. However, MDF training is typically lacking in length, substance, and practicality, partially due to lack of usage, corruption, and general apathy, but mostly because of the security provided by the Idris Corporation providing a crutch for the MDF to lean on. An overwhelming majority of the members of the MDF are reservists, with there only being a small regular professional military. The MDF is split into three components: Air, Marine, and Land. While it may be expected to see the Marine forces being the largest, its size is nothing to boast about. The Marine Component advertises its service as a chance to explore the oceans, to sail to cities all over the planet, and go on grand adventures as a sailor. Truthfully, the Marine Component rarely goes far beyond the coast itself. Although it is not the largest branch, it is the most active, finding itself patrolling the coasts of the coastal cities with Idris, and acts as little more than another arm of the rich coastal elite, providing security to Idris shipping, flying coastal patrols, and otherwise leaving the massive cities atop the water completely alone. Additionally, it is not uncommon for the Marine Component to shake down non-Idris owned vessels in major shipping lanes, utterly ruining their owners financially in the process. Almost every coastal city, throughout the entire planet of Mictlan, has a Marine Component Base. Far removed from such activity, would be the Air Component. While it is undeniable that the Air Component uses the latest and best equipment, has a fair number of modern aircraft, and their pilots are given some of the best training available, it suffers from a critical lack of experience. The aircraft sit in their hangars, flown sparsely for rare training missions, and it has reached a point where pilots fly more during training than they will ever do for the rest of their career. More recently, the government has aggravated many of the servicemen of the Air Component by siphoning away a large amount of their funding towards the Marine Component. Lastly, there is the Land Component, celebrated with much fanfare, and which makes up the bulk of the personnel serving in the MDF, both regular and reserve. With limited space available for their bases, and with a crippling reliance on Idris Corporation, the Land Component is only able to field two Divisions, stationed at two separate bases. Both Divisions are organized in the same manner, principally being made up of three Mechanized BCTs, an Artillery Brigade, a Combat Aviation Brigade, and a Logistics Brigade. The 1st Division also has an Armored Regiment attached, the only one of its kind, and both divisions, first and second, have an attached Commando Battalion. The MDF also has an incredibly high number of reservists. These reservists retain the same amount of benefits given to the Regulars, but only have a commitment to train with their unit two times a year, at predetermined dates. The MDF regularly struggles to meet the numbers required for regulars due to the proliferation of the reserves, and typically, one or even both Divisions fluctuate between understrength and barely at their required numbers. The MDF, rather than having a decentralized command structure, has a unified command. All three components answer to a General Staff, whose officers are chosen for their political convenience, by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister, as expected, serves as its Commander-In-Chief. The Marine Component, as previously mentioned, has bases at nearly every coastal city on the planet of Mictlan. The Land Component has three bases, one being the prestigious Simon Bolivar Military School, named after a heroic Earth hero. Cadets who attend the school commission as an officer after 4 years of schooling, and are shuffled into the various Components depending on either their political connections, stellar record and performance, or by the needs of the Components themselves. The Simon Bolivar Military School is only a few miles away from the Capital of Arequipa, and also hosts the Barracks of the Republican Guard. The Republican Guard is a ceremonial force which guards the Senate, the person of the Prime Minister, and, symbolically, the Republic itself. The General Staff also works here, spending some of their time giving lectures to students, and the rest towards leading the MDF itself. The second base is Campo Luis, named after one of the Presidents of an old Earth nation. It hosts the 1st Division, but more importantly, also hosts the MDF Recruit Training Depot for enlisted service members. Harshly divided to ensure that the Recruits do not come into contact with the Regulars, all three Components of the military train here. Their instructors, or Drill Instructors, ensure that all three Components and the various Recruit platoons compete with each other viciously. Over the nine weeks, they learn marksmanship, field survival skills, jungle warfare, SERE skills, and much, much more. The Regular 1st Division takes up the rest of the island. Due to the nature of the island, smaller than many others, much of the heavy weapons training is performed by simply firing at targets out in the water, in a very heavily controlled environment. Already crowded, this base also has been jammed together with the TCFL and the PMCG, who, to the immense anger of the Land Component, is given priority in lodging, chow, and just about everything else under the sun. The third base is Campo Chavez, named after an old Earth activist. It hosts the 2nd Division, and is also the site of the National Commando Training Center, situated deep in the jungle of the island. The 2nd Division, by the standards of Mictlan, is on an island that is actually rather decent in size, which was left largely alone due to its agricultural unsustainability, and is able to dedicate a lot of its time to training out in the jungles of the island. The Air Component has two airbases, the first of which is simply an extension to Campo Luis, Base Aerea No.1, Campo Luis. The second one, Base Aerea No.2, Arequipa, is a smaller installation, used mostly for VIP escort and transport, but still retains the same air capability nonetheless. At Base Aerea No.2, the Republican Guard has a small detachment dedicated to the personal aircraft of the Prime Minister. Spoiler The TCFL: When the TCFL arrived under the Peacekeeper Mandate, they expected to be welcomed as liberators and heroes. However, when they paraded through the glass tunnels of Arequipa with much fanfare and expecting much applause, the workers merely avoided them, the tourists apathetically went along their way, and the few that applauded them seemed to do so simply out of polite courtesy. Not humbled, but rather, aggravated, they became even more bitter when they had to wait 72 hours to be flown to Campo Luis by the Air Component. The TCFL, regardless of the propaganda surrounding them, was only able to spare a small force to send to Mictlan, and now, only three battalions worth of infantry are stationed at Campo Luis, sharing it with the MDF and the PMCG. So far, they have been unwilling to see the MDF as equals, and have insisted on taking over all military operations in Mictlan, to the utter contempt of the General Staff on the planet. The TCFL has remained in Mictlan for a little over 3 months. Rather than being able to adjust to their new situation, the TCFL was immediately thrown into action. After a significant amount of tips about a terrorist group, known as “The Samaritans”, and their alleged political wing, “The Founding Movement”, operating near and inside the communities outside of Lago de Abundancia, the TCFL decided to deploy two battalions into the region to maintain stability. Additionally, they sent 1 Battalion to Sikunda, over concerns of Samaritan radicals operating in the floating city. Overstretched, and too prideful to bring along their mercenaries or the MDF, they set up multiple checkpoints, supply depots, and began running daily patrols of the area. In Sikunda, they set up a Base of Operations in an unused building constructed for Civil Guard usage. In Sikunda, recently, a group of radicals stormed the building, attacking the TCFL. So far, yet unknown to the general public, the Samaritans have begun to brutalize them, entrapping them into jungle ambushes, laying mines in their patrol paths to maim them, and have twice raided their supply depots. After a little over 3 months, the current death count lies at 25 KIA, and 40 wounded. Despite the frequency of their attacks, the TCFL still refuses to send reinforcements, already stretched thin. However, TCFL equipment has begun appearing in the hands of the Samaritans, captured both in battle and by their raids of TCFL supply depots. For now, the Samaritans appear to be only a minor rebel group, universally reviled by the general public, but that may not be the case for much longer. PMCG: Sending the PMCG, for Biesel, was actually an afterthought for them. It was assumed that the garden world of Mictlan would have no issues when it came to their internal stability. However, when the Samaritans began to make headway against the small TCFL force, the Republic sent 4 Battalions worth of mercenaries. 3 of them are staffed by the EPMC, Eagle Corp, and 1 of them is staffed by the infamous Ringspire EPMC Group. So far, they have been sitting around, doing nothing, at Campo Luis, aggravating the MDF with their habits, and being paid all the same. While they may insist they are performing their security duties, they are, in fact, doing nothing. SCC/Idris: When Idris signed on with the SCC, they did not expect the result to bite them so catastrophically as it is in Mictlan. Unable to deny their allies open access to Mictlan, for the first time, new corporations have begun to open up shop in Mictlan. The SCC, rather than bringing stability as promised by President Dorn, is now bringing unforeseen chaos. In the open, the SCC appears more unified than ever, but on Mictlan, with disputes between Uranium mining rights, the abusal of Mictlan’s strange corporate-friendly laws, and with alternatives being offered to Idris for the first time, the power and authority once held by the Megacorporation is being etched away, chunk by chunk. Major competitors such as NanoTrasen, and Hephaestus Industries wage covert war against Idris, and even the loyalty of the Civil Guard and the state apparatus becomes more and more dubious as times go on. Spoiler Politics: Politics in Mictlan, historically, have been that of shifting coalitions and alliances between the various cities among each other, each with different goals and opinions, but usually connected by a common thread of corruption. To this aim, one main faction dominates the Senate. The League of Del Rio carries most of the planet of Mictlan. Made up of the Senators of almost all of the coastal cities, the Capital, and a large number of floating cities, it dominates all politics for the Idris Corporation, and effectively makes the Republic of Mictlan a nearly One-Party State. Lethargic, bloated, and inefficient, it rules passively, without passion, and absolutely. The only dissident group, which has been described as the political wing of the Samaritans, is the Founding Movement. Although irrelevant in the fact that they hold not a single seat in the Senate, and largely opposed by all, they are beginning to form the nucleus of a popular movement as opposition to the TCFL creates a much more sympathetic population. The Samaritans, led by a former enlisted NCO, Xiomara Salvo, who was administratively discharged from the MDF for her ideological beliefs, becomes more relevant with each attack. Her group of rebels consist mostly of disillusioned MDF veterans, and more recently, disaffected farmers and workers who wish to be left alone by the TCFL. Their most recent branch in Sikunda has begun to make waves as well with their daring attack on the TCFL, drawing in a number of motivated rebels from within the metal jungle. Within the past few weeks, however, the group has drawn the attention of someone infinitely more dangerous: The Solarian Interstellar Intelligence Bureau. The situation at hand: In Mictlan, various factors seem to be leading to a supernova waiting to occur. While the protests in October of ‘63 went over with little violence, discontent rises again in the streets. In the jungles, and in Sikanda, the small radical group, the Samaritans, have recently seen a large increase in support from the commoners of Mictlan. In the agricultural and working communities oppressed by the TCFL, hotbeds of radicalism have been produced, and in the disgustingly crowded and colorful streets of various floating cities, various lone wolves have begun to radicalize. Though the Samaritans only operate in what appears to be two areas, their influence already is having a planetary impact. In some far flung island, a Tau Ceti boy takes his last step on two legs, the Civil Guard refuses to patrol certain parts of Sikunda in fear, the SCC and Idris fight over Uranium, and the SIIB waits in the shadows. Regardless, things go on normally for most people. At least, for now… Spoiler Possible course of events: What I mean to entail here, is that this rebel group on Mictlan has not yet become a true insurgency. It only has really been active in a few instances, and even though there might appear to be some sort of support growing for it, it is mild, passive support, and not true and active reinforcement of their cause. I do not mean to plan out everything, but rather the first sparks which will create the insurgency, and then perhaps a little after that. The immediate, and violent explosion which will start the show, as you could say. Do not take it too literally though, honestly this is just for speculation. When I specify between Corporate and Non-Corporate, I assume that the Corporate reporters would be horrifically biased and censor every detail, and Non-Corporate could be anything from Biesel reporters to local Mictlan reporters who will leak/report whatever they can if possible. Event #1: Protests in Mictlan! (Corporate) Today, reporters were on the scene in Sikunda, one of the largest cities in Mictlan, as protests kicked off again in the city. Throughout many other cities, including, surprisingly, Arequipa, where a large number of workers have refused to clock in, leading to the city grinding to a halt. The situation is tense, as the TCFL are seen in full battle rattle, guarding the perimeter of their building, alongside a Civil Guard riot line. Protestors are carrying pickets, flags, and a few have even begun to chant phrases such as “Fuck Tau Ceti!”. Alarming, there were also banners and alleged spokespersons from the Founding Movement present, a notorious terrorist group. Hopefully, the TCFL and the Civil Guard will be able to stop these protestors from causing any serious harm to either property or life. Event #2: Bill S.1840 - The Republican Guard After only 20 minutes of debate, the Senate has almost unanimously adopted a bill put forth by the united Idris Corporation representatives. It dramatically increases the size of the Republican Guard, and gives it new responsibilities. Rather than simply guarding the Prime Minister, it has fully embraced its duty to defend the Republic, and is now planned to be embedded within every MDF unit to ensure that proper policy is followed, and that radicalism is kept at a minimum. Additionally, the Prime Minister, although not stated in the bill, has said that he wishes to “Explore the possibility of a Republican Guard Regiment”, which would fight and act as a normal, but far more capable MDF infantry unit. Event #3: Sikunda on fire! (Non-Corporate) A group of protestors crowded around the TCFL building, shouting at them. Suddenly, one of them threw a firecracker, which blew up right in front of one of the Legionnaires. A cacophony of orders were shouted, and they began to draw back closer to the building, seemingly emboldening the protestors. They began to throw rocks, and other eclectic objects that they could find. Suddenly, the TCFL opened fire, causing mass panic among the crowd, and many ran off. The TCFL decided to withdraw back into the building, perplexingly, leaving the people they shot on the floor to die. The lull in the violence would not last. The crowd would begin throwing rocks into the windows of the building, and, soon after that, the Civil Guard began to forcefully disperse the crowd, liberally beating protestors with batons. Eventually, the streets were left empty of them, with only the arrested, a few corpses, and many a few wounded protesters. In other news, equally shocked by the events, the workers in Arequipa have returned back to work. Event #4: The Sikunda Manifesto (Non-Corporate) All over the Extranet, a video, posted by the Samaritans, is found. A blurry video, a jungle, one woman standing, flanked by two men wearing masks and berets, carrying pistols. All wear the standard camouflage of the MDF. She begins: “This regime has allowed foreigners to massacre their own people. This government no longer represents the people of Mictlan.” “We, the Samaritans, wish to save Mictlan from the corporate masters that enslave it and the foreigners who occupy it.” “What you saw in Sikunda is only the beginning of the abuses that the puppet government and its masters are willing to go to in order to destroy our freedom.” “Only through a united effort can we prevent them from destroying all we stand for”. “We demand the following, immediately: The resignation of the Prime Minister, Ladislao de Santos. The expulsion of the TCFL and the PMCG. The dissolution of the corrupt Senate, and a Military Junta to be put in place to serve as a transition towards true democracy. Lastly, the nationalization and expulsion of all Megacorporation property and Megacorporation stooges. Mictlan will never be free if this is not accomplished.” When we asked for dialogue, the MDF and Mictlan Government refused to comment. However, one anonymous source did report to us that, quote, “Corporate Intelligence believes that moderation has died entirely within the radical movement, and that nationalists now flock to the Samaritans and the Founding Movement”. Event #5: Bombing rocks the Simon Bolivar Military School! (Corporate) At the gate leading towards the prestigious Simon Bolivar Military School, a video captures a vehicle pulling up, with fully tinted windows. Suddenly, the driver jumps out, running in the opposite direction, as the MPs finally catch on, and begin firing at him. However, it is far too late. The vehicle explodes, and both the gate and the guards are vaporized. The entire school was closed down, and for a short time Arequipa went on full lockdown, with Idris Police checking every vehicle and searching suspicious individuals. The Samaritans have not taken responsibility, but it is obvious that they are behind it. Hopefully, the Civil Guard, which has now been notified and is searching the local communities, will be able to apprehend the suspect. The MDF, when asked for comment, stated that they are disheartened by the situation, but are working with their partners in the TCFL and PMCG to ensure the security of the area. Event #6: Operation Leyenda (Non-Corporate) Concerned with the rebel threat in the jungles near Lago de Abundancia, the TCFL has launched a joint operation with the PMCG, dubbed “Leyenda”. Focusing on flushing out the rebels in the jungles, and recovering caches of weapons or explosives, it is being spearheaded by the TCFL, with the PMCG in support. Taking off from Campo Luis, the PMCG linked up with TCFL forces already operating in the area and a Civil Guard force, and they left a minor PMCG force in reserve as they began to sweep the jungles. However, so far, the operation appears to have borne no fruit. Instead of finding rebels, or weapons, all that they have found so far appear to be deserted campsites, IEDs set up on certain trails, and propaganda leaflets. During an interview with one of the Prefects in the TCFL, they stated that they believe that they were fed deliberately false intelligence, which was initially provided by the MDF. Event #7: MDF Purged! (Non-Corporate) After a scandal in which an intelligence disaster led to the TCFL on a wild goose chase through the jungles, the Prime Minister has ordered the Republican Guard to arrest several high ranking officers within the MDF. Said officers were stated as being “unreliable”, or held “beliefs that were considered politically extreme”, or “displayed conduct unbecoming of an officer”. While not being charged with any crime, it appears that they are being processed for administrative discharge out of the MDF. In their places, it was stated that far more “loyal, capable, and trustworthy” candidates were replacing them. Event #8: SIIB in Mictlan? (Corporate) On Monday, almost by accident, during a patrol through the jungle, the TCFL stumbled upon what appeared to be an IAC shipment. Curious, they opened it, but found the crate to be filled with Kumar Arms manufactured rifles, ungraciously stamped and serialized as “PROPERTY OF THE ASSN”. Questions are now being raised even in Biesel itself about the appearance of the weapons, and a thorough investigation is being launched by the authorities at this time. It would not be out of character for the Solarians to do their best to attempt to destroy the Republic, and it only proves that Sol still remains a credible threat to democracy everywhere. Event #9: Debates open in Biesel! (Corporate) Recently, the topic at hand in the Tau Ceti Assembly of Spokespeople is that of Mictlan. Furious debate was opened about the role of Tau Ceti in the Corporate Reconstruction Zone, the prolific rebel group the “Samaritans” on Mictlan, and the recent investigation into alleged SIIB meddling into the affairs of the Republic. A Spokesperson from the Unity Party has even stated that “Further military intervention and funding for the struggle against fascist rebels in Mictlan is not out of the question”, and further stated that “The struggle in Mictlan can be defined as a struggle that was realized within Biesel itself during the Solarian invasions”. More moderate individuals disagree, however, and state that the issue of security in Mictlan should remain in the hands of Mictlan itself. Event #10: The Arequipa Military Mission! (Corporate) While the situation in Mictlan seems to be relatively calm, the problem of the Samaritans still remains. With this in mind, the SCC has approved the creation of a Military Mission to be sent to Arequipa, which will start their function as an advisory group to the MDF as soon as they finish preparations. The SCC also hopes to embed members of the AMM into the Civil Guard, in order to train them on proper interrogation techniques, and intelligence gathering procedures. I thought about maybe adding other things, but it is so beefy at this point that I feel adding more would be counterproductive. Link to comment
Caelphon
Hi there. After a discussion with the Lore Team, we have decided that this doesn’t align with our goals for the Samaritans or Mictlan. I applaud your effort, and thank you for your contribution. This application was unsuccessful, and is being denied. Locking and archiving within the next 24 hours. Link to comment
