Bleeding system.

Yes, a bleeding system. I can't stress enough that characters get stabbed/cut/clawed/shot and not bleed.

Of course there would be minor levels, if you get cut like clawed you bleed minorly, if you continue to get clawed you start bleeding more, etc.

If you get shot with balistics (because lasers should cauterize the wound immediately) you start to bleed heavily because you got shot, duh.

-Clawed results in a minor cut depending on how much you got clawed, you bleed minorly or anything that is basically sharp but not as sharp as a knife. (Claws, shards of glass, etc.)

-stabbed once puts you into a medium bleeding mode, if you get stabbed multiple times you begin bleeding heavily.

-Shot and you bleed heavily, losing blood quickly will quickly slower you and if you continue without treatment you eventually fall over helpless until someone comes to save you. (Gauze will slower the bleeding but not fully heal it until proper treatment.)

-Major requires surgery most likely if you were shot. It's optional to take the bullet out but if you take the bullet out it won't cause any internal problems. You require the wound to be sown and bandaged

-Medium requires the wound to be sown, just like Major.

-Minor requires gauze/bandages only.

Please leave suggestions to this below in the comments, I'm open to them as this could be improved to your likings.

(Note: This is only a rough summary of what it can be.)

Im all for this except for major bleeding requiring surgery, and gauze not fully stopping the bleeding.

I feel like all of that, coupled with infections may make getting injured too overwhelming.

True. I'm just all for antags finally get a chance to put a dent in people. If you get stabbed about 5 times by an antag then left to die, you should bleed out and eventually die. I've seen people with these injuries just walk about fine and shrug off that they just got stabbed a bunch.

The human body will lose blood quickly, depending on where it's stabbed, so if you're going to add in a 'bleeding system', it'll have to be tweaked.

As well, why will you start bleeding heavily after getting shot? Did they shoot a blood fountain on you or something? A bullet wound isn't going to be a "major" bleeding injury, on most places. Then again, I could be wrong.

Again, bleeding out. Why does it just leave you helpless? It should kill you. Losing enough blood will kill you, pretty easily. There is more to having blood loss than just being 'slow' as well, for obvious reasons.

And what about getting stabbed in say, the foot? That shouldn't do the same amount of bleeding damage, compared to getting stabbed in a more centralized area.

Which is why I said that this is just a rough summary. Along so, if you get shot in the torso a couple times you are going to bleed out fast. If bleeding doesn't kill you, the organ damage will. Getting shot where vital organs are is no joke when certain organs support your life. Also, helpless to the point where you can't do anything thus your death from bleeding out is what I meant to say, my bad.

I mean, to be fair, getting shot requires surgery anyway if you start bleeding because you have to remove shrapnel because internal bleeding. That means that this suggestion for getting shot is already in effect. Not a fan of falling over helpless though. If you've lost enough blood to fall over, then you're either in pain crit or soon to be dead because you're already on the floor taking massive oxy damage. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that it already exists, and that we don't have to make it worse as this suggestion would make it

Coupled with that:

-Major requires surgery most likely if you were shot. It's optional to take the bullet out but if you take the bullet out it won't cause any internal problems. You require the wound to be sown and bandaged

Surgery uses a cautery to close wounds. No need for sowing and bandaging.

Also, there's already a bleed system in effect anyhow. Being attacked with things like knives, claws, etc. makes wounds tear open which cause bleeding. The bigger the wound (due to repeat hits), the more you bleed out of said wound. The smallest of bleeding wounds will heal naturally, but bigger wounds require gauze/advanced trauma kits to stop the bleeding.

There's a chance that if you get wounded with mild-to-serious damage (typically over 15 brute, I think?), that limb will suffer from bleed-out. You make blood-drops everywhere and start losing overall blood and you die pretty quickly after 5 minutes of neglect.
