BYOND Key: Spessmans13

Character Names: Uriasz Loritz, Kermit Reyer.

Species you are applying to play: IPC Hephaestus Gen 2

What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yep!

Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.

Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play this race because I love robotics, and I admire the study of robotics. I find the history of the IPCs, very fascinating, from the capital punishment turning into a cyborg, to the drones in Konyang being uncovered. I also respect the struggle IPCs face in pretty much every culture. I think the Mannerisms of EAL would be fun to use, and I like how as my IPC would grow, it would develop its personality based on its experiences (Kind of like a human I suppose), and I think that seeing the thought process from an IPC's perspective would be fun to play.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: It's different because as an IPC you don't have to worry about experiencing pain as most IPCs don't feel pain. It's different because IPCs have fewer risks that organics face (Such as sleeping toxins and EVA for the industrial models.)

Character Name: Hermes

Please provide a short backstory for this character: A IPC, Hephaestus Gen 2 Model, manufactured and owned by Hephaestus. It was manufactured for industrial tasks, specifically EVA missions/Mining. It features high-power servos (To help in carrying a lot of ores), and heavy armor plating (Meant to protect against hostile creatures encountered on away missions) An almost perfect construct for Mining.

Hermes was purchased very shortly after its manufacture, by the man leading its manufacture, a Hephaestus machinist named Gudmund Matthews. It was manufactured almost specifically for Mining missions, mining missions are typically carried out by a three-man crew, they fly a mining shuttle into a dangerous place, in the search of minerals, with the thought of death always lingering in their mind, and Gudmund, keeping this in mind, had named the IPC Hermes, the Greek god of trade and commerce known as the protector of travelers and merchants.

Gudmund was also a Merchant, and before Hermes was sent out for work on the Horizon, Gudmund kept Hermes to help package and carry crates of goods, Gudmund was fond of IPCs and was caring for Hermes, frequently making integrity checks, to make sure everything was up and running. As previously mentioned, Gudmund deeply cared for Hermes, he talked to it in a soothing tone and accepted it was fresh out of the factory, so he helped Hermes learn from their mistakes. As a result of Gudmund's caring nature for it, Hermes developed a sense of Naivety, it expected beings to be patient with it.

Gudmund was very fond of cats, and he had one of his own named Aurora, the namesake being the cat's Heterochromia, causing it two have one blue eye and one green eye(Like an Aurora). Hermes had developed a fondness for cats from being around Gudmund, and seeing how much he loved and cared for Aurora, Gudmund had noticed this and gave Hermes secondary tasks involving Aurora, such as, carrying sacks of litter, cat food, and other heavy feline care supplies.

After Hermes got a bit older and more experienced (Roughly around three months), Gudmund lent Hermes to Hephaestus, to accompany miners on missions, Hermes being deeply loyal to his User Hermes was slightly reluctant to his new assignment, wondering if Gudmund could handle things by himself, and Gudmund assured it that Hermes would be very useful and that Hephaestus needed it for a bigger purpose, and Gudmund gave Hermes a picture of Gudmund holding Aurora, and they said their goodbyes, and utilizing Hermes' functions giving him perks in industrial EVA type tasks, Hephaestus assigned Hermes as a Shaft Miner on the SCCV Horizon.

What do you like about this character? What do I like about him? Well I find robotics a very interesting study, and I like it's naivety I also think it would be fun to use the slang in EAL and Roleplay the very unique thought process of a Positronic.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? I am very passionate about my characters, and I frequently put way more effort than is needed in my characters, and I would say I am good at adapting my RP to different situations.
