Satorn
BYOND Key: Satorn Character Names: Dmitry Voronov, Petr Soldatov, Nikita Tsigler, Danya Kuznetsov, Evgeny Andreev. Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Blue-Grey Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I always liked playing for them, I enjoyed the aesthetics of their culture, I also like that they are not described here as "ordinary semi-tribal space cats", but having their own culture, normal religions, and a consistent history that turns into big conflicts. It became interesting to watch their conflict on planet Adomai and how it will affect the characters in game, there are a lot of different possibilities in roleplay. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: What I personally noticed is that they generally more conservative than average human, yes that depending on their origin but, they can be not so talkative with them or on the other hand, they are inquisitive and sociable, as their culture of speech allows them that. They talk about themselves in the third person because they have a cultural features and grammatical structure of their language, and they have a biological inclination to stretch the "R" sound. The last thing I can notice is their ability to express emotions through their ears and tail. Character Name: Ratam Mrrakzai Please provide a short backstory for this character Born at the beginning of the first revolution, growing up, Ratam watched as the world built by his ancestors changed before his eyes, when he grown up in the conditions of the revolutionary Hadii regime, Ratam left home as a volunteer in the Republican Army a couple of weeks before the death of President Rhagrrhuzau Hadii ,and after this subsequent repressions affected him and his family, he deserted to ALA with the along with other to avoid repressions, during the war Ratam managed to visit it enough to see all the senselessness of the massacre for ideologies and a place on this planet. With the end of the Second Revolution, he receive news about his Zhan-Khazan mining village around of the Khazan Mountains, she has been ravaged by both sides. Ratam swore that he would never want to be on a war-ravaged planet again, his family was exiled as a labor force to NanoTrasen, and friends and relatives were subjected to repression. Not wanting to put up with this anymore, he uses the services of smugglers and successfully gets to Tau Ceti, where he begins his life with a clean slate, trying to forget the horrors of war. Ratam begins to study Tau Ceti Basic while living in the society of the Tajaran in Republic of Biesel and after he was able to teach him to an acceptable pronunciation and communication, he was able to get into hard work together with other Zhan-Khazan which selected to work on a variety of asteroids and planetary mines arranged by Hephaestus Industries. Ratam proved himself to be an excellent worker who constantly exceeds production plans, who easily adaptable to any work difficulties. After a long and hard work, he gets a contract to the on board the SCCV Horizon. And Ratam accept this offer. What do you like about this character? Ratam just a soldier disillusioned in the wars on him planet, who wanted to completely get away from it, where he can live a peacefully. I have not described how he barely endured the loss of his family and home, he did not return there knowing that there was no one there anymore. He had to leave behind his culture where he grew up in order to survive in a hostile world. Ratam just a laborer who came under the influence of the PRA when he been still young. With age and experience comes awareness. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think is average. If the moment demands it. But i am write soooo slow sometimes.... ErshOurHerzog
+1 from me. Satorn is a good guy to play with. Of course, his grammar and english vocabulary suck, but that is solvable by putting the text through websites that spot all the mistakes; by actually practicing in game. What is funny is that Ratam is a Zhan, so his bad Ceti Basic would actually look normal in-game. As for Satorn's other human characters, I didn't see much difference besides their names and departments. They are not unique, and they all are plutonians (because Satorn is most likely a russian dude). I think he should try making more unique personalities for his characters. Maybe use another human system from Aurora-verse, I don't know. But anyhow, his knowledge of Tajara lore is very basic, so I guess someone's gotta ask a lot of questions, lol. 1 Link to comment
Shenaanigans
To second a lot of what Ersh said, it is rather obvious that English is not your first language but you try your best and manage to do a great job of contributing to RP and engaging other people's characters despite that. Really you go out of your way to interact with others more than most people who are fluent, which is extremely valuable for a RP environment, and language skills can always be improved with time and practice. Your application does also show a basic understanding of Tajaran lore, but could definitely stand to be elaborated on a bit through answering some questions about who Ratam is as a character and what his stance is on some of the more important points of lore. Hopefully the species' lore writers will work with you on that to fill things out a bit more. Best of luck! 1 1 Link to comment

Satorn
Quote Can you expand on the growing up part during the first revolution? How did it change him? Why did he join the military? He was born two years before the uprising, in the mining village of Zhan-Khazan in the southern Ras'nrr which also rebelled against its impoverished nobleman and at a conscious age he was already growing up with the propaganda of the rebel forces, his village also fell under it. His father went to the revolution as a result of the incipient revolutionary unrest in the village and never returned, his mother taught him the basics of writing and counting, and after Ratam matured and gained experience from other miners, he began to work with the others himself, when earlier he was as an apprentice. He join the military because propaganda also made itself felt, too, he went there to fight for the people, who had already suffered enough for the first revolution. He survived the war, and did not see all its horrors, but he wanted to make sure that no one had to hear about the atrocities of war anymore. And inspired he joined the ranks of the Republican Army. Quote Despite its distance, the Tajara in Tau Ceti are still under the influence of the Tajaran factions. How does Ratam copes with this? Who does he alling himself to now? How does he reconcilliate with being a part of the ALA that is not working for a corporation? He had to hide the fact that he was on the side of the DPRA in Second Revolution, when did Ratam arrive he renounced the past in favor of the future, this made him extremely thoughtful, since he had to make difficult decisions then. He managed to overcome his feelings of anger, becoming selfish closed person in order not say too much and not to show the involvement of one of the parties. Also trying to avoid unnecessary meetings. Anyway, even trying to get away from the war, he watches her from afar.... Quote What religion does Ratam follows? He is a follower of the Ma'ta'ke religion. Quote What does he think of the PRA and the NKA? PRA - Initially hated by him because of the repression of his people, сlearly dislikes their ideology, hides this fact and does not want to contact them once again. Complete distrust of them. NKA - The fragments of the former greatness, who tried with all their might to regain it, he also thinks what they are fighting for a place on the planet, wanting to bring back the caste system and the rule of the nobles. Quote What side does he want to "win" the current cold war and why? If look around with a sober head he think PRA should win because it has a constant improvement of technology and support from above. But at the same time, there is DPRA, which is developing its nuclear weapons program. NKA is just a backward nobility. If there is a choice of sides, then he will choose the DPRA, because he gave them time and energy to the revolution, even though he had completely different motives. This is his neutral and, as he believes, the right choice, they have another politics - providing the necessary opportunities and freedom from external influences to the all Tajara species. But seriously if talk about win who the Cold War - time will show. Edited December 15, 2022 by Satorn Some polish... Link to comment

A final question so I can be sure that you get it. If asked by someone what Tajaran country does he support, what would he say? Tajara can only pick - with the exceptions of those from the free council, which is not the case here - a citizenship from the three factions, which one would Ratam have? Link to comment

Ratam will say that although he is a supporter of the DPRA, but he fled from the Cold War, he did not want to live in a constant feeling of fear of death. For this, he may be considered a coward or a traitor, but he will not back down from his words. He will have the citizenship of the DPRA,and he's not the type to brag about it. Now he is supporting DPRA, their civilian government, because they have a more moderate policy and support for workers, unlike the military juntas which he also disliked because of the most military and xenophobic sentiments.
