Why do you wish to play this specific race:

Vaurca lore has to be one of the most interesting I’ve read. Their culture is so alien comparatively to the rest of the Spur. For example, them having an actual afterlife in Virtual Reality, and queens that live for thousands of years. I also believe that the groupthink aspect of Vaurcae culture can provide interesting roleplay oppourtunities. 

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

Unlike humans, loyalty in Vaurca is preprogrammed. They are born with a direct purpose in mind for them, unlike humans who are free to choose their jobs. Unlike many humans, Vaurca also face massive amounts of discrimination. They have one of the lowest pay rates, and many other species commonly view them as pests or simple-minded bugs. 

 

Character Name: Ka’Akaix’Karg Zo’ra

Please provide a short backstory for this character

Karg was created by Xakt’s brood in conjunction with her upcoming partnership with Getmore. It was formed to serve as a k’ois cultivator and Xenobotanist. Within VR, it quickly grasped the practice of cultivating k’ois, and quickly came to view the cultivation as a form of art, weaving k’ois within the ecosystem of (virtual) planets. While they spent most of their time in training simulations, Karg especially took solace in Xakt's Titan Prime simulation - seeing the great Hiveship recreated in all its glory gave it a feeling of almost longing. Karg wishes to see the Vaurca race restored to its previous glory, even if it will not physically live to see it.

Eventually, Karg was taken to the fields of Luthien. With their passion for k’ois growing carefully cultivated in VR, they excelled. However, on Luthien, Karg witnessed mycosis in action when humans from the poles were afflicted by it. This made it realize the danger of k'ois to other species, and emboldened it to assist in the effort to lessen the lethality of ko'is to other species. On its 7th birthday, Karg was sent along with its hive-cell to the SCCV Horizon through a work order. Now on the Horizon, Karg is conflicted - it wants to resume the art of k'ois cultivation, but the ever growing fear of an outbreak on a Vaurca-minority ship dissuades its passion.

 

What do you like about this character?

A character that is obsessed with growing the lifeblood for their species can result in some interesting roleplay, and their overachievement combined with the social ineptness of Xakt’s brood could lead to good roleplay.

Hi. Do you think you could expand a bit more on the backstory? If that's too hard for your concept, you can think of just any backstory a Vaurca would have.

Edited the backstory to expand it. Talked about how it felt on Horizon, favorite VR realm, etc

I've always found Meep to be a good roleplayer with immersive grounded characters who are fun to interact with. But enough about me.

meep breaking the trend of characters whose lives were ruined by vaurca finally

in all seriousness they're a good rper, i've had the pleasure of meeting a few of their characters and always found our interactions to be fun and memorable. in addition they have a pretty solid grasp of vaurca lore as it interplayed with a few of their characters, so all in all this is a solid +1 from me.
