Character Names: Iosif Nowak.
Species I Am Applying For: Tajaran (speficly of the M'Sai kind)
What Color I'm Making My Character: Grey coating with Black spots around the hands and belly
Have I Read the lore: Yes, spend 2 hours last night looking and DPRA, PRA and NKA lore as well as general tajaran history

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.

Why Do You Wish To Play This Particular Race: As of reading the wiki and playing the recent events, i find tajaran history extremely interesting and with high potential for interesting characters.
Adhomai and by extent. The Tajaran people are plagued by war and strife, With two civil wars fought almost purely for ideological reasons, Adhomai is, politicaly speaking, a fucking mess. Although war and the thought of iminent war is something glorified and propagandized by both the PRA and the NKA, and by some extendt, even parts of the DPRA fall into this digotemy. I do wonder, are there any tajarans that are tired of war? Veterans or Civilians. Noblemen or Commoner. Someone has to be tired of it, no?.
The prospect of "Peace in Adhomai" is a distant dream in the minds of most Tajaran, a character that IDEALIZES that dream, is very interesting to me.

What makes playing this race different from default human: Ive read a good deal of the lore in the wiki, and although there is the great Corpo Wars and the Fall of The Sol Alliance, there are few human factions whos entire history and culture is centered around opression, revolt, war and what happens to the society after the events, and as sayed in the last paragraph, Tajaran society romanticizes the First Revolt with the same panaz as people romanticized the first world war. Having a character who, although at one point might have believed in the PRAs and NKAs state propaganda, has actually been trough the war, thick and thin, and although able to and respecting the concept of "Fighting for a just cause". Has come to abhor every aspect of war.

Character Name: Boris Novinky

Please Provide a short backstory for this character:
Boris was born a few years before the First Civil War in the Rhazar Region, he never met his father, all that his mother has told about him is that he was a M'Sai enforcer that worked for one of the nobles before defecting to the PRA in the First Civil War, and that he was a good man. after the PRA inevitably had its victory and president Hadii was assasinated, Boris luck seem to have fell from there, his mother passed away due to illness when he was the age of six, and althoug he was taken to a Young Patriots orphanege senter, he spent most of his childhood and early teenage years as a street urchin, he was seen as an outcast at best and scum of the earth at worse and had few people that cared about him, tho sayed few people where there in his life, mostly other street kids around his age or older, the most prominant one was a Zhan-Khazan named Alexsei Krah´Simaas, Boris and Alexsei came to be inseperable in their journeys, with the noticebly older and taller Khazan protecting and teaching the young M'Sai lessons, this early experience with the underworld of outcasts in Adhomai served to give boris the idea that the Ethnic Cast System was complete bullshit.

At some point when reaching his twenties, the Secound Civil war started and both Boris and Alexsei found themselfs in the GPA, altough schooling and litteracy being at an all time high in adhomai after the Republic was in command, Boris was tought by Alexsei and other street kids how to read, altough clever his reading comprehation was only that of 6th grade, also due to this the commissars got a tough time getting Hadiist ideals into Boris's head, considering the events to follow this was either a blessing or a detriment. Although Boris childhood was slightly violent due to living in the street, he always had Alexsei to defend him and it was never to the brutal scale that is common in war, although Boris was acustumed to claw-fights and throwing stones at eachother he was not acustumed to seeing a soldier getting blown up by artilery or PoW and civilians getting executed by firing squads, he fought in the Secound Civil War to almost to its end, he never got passed any rank then the common private, and in wich he saw horrors and atrocities commited not only by the NKA but also by his own comrades and superior officers, the only person who kept him from completly turning over was Alexsei, but of course, due to the workings of war Alexsei eventualy became one of its casualties, this all culminated in only 2 years before the armistice in wich he witnessed one of his officers partaking in the misstreatment and horrendous abuse of civilians and wich point he killed him with his rifle, although the shot was heard, when commisars arrived to investigate Boris was alredy gone, and due to the chaos of battle it was chalked up to a normal casualty.

Now Boris clearly couldnt go back to the Peoples Republic, soo he choose what he considered the best next choice and deffected to the ALA and the Democratic Republics cause, he saw the end of the war with the armistice and this was a considerate relief on him, he has seen the worst of the worst in both sides of war, and had come to heard news of the totalitarism of the PRA and the horrid conditions of the NKA and was now living in an area civilian controled area in the DPRA, in his now late-thirdys Boris deals with not only great finacial problems but the occasional nightmares and vissions from his war days, with this, he saw the only best option he could, and started working for one of the many mega-corporations, Boris had tried himself with hard labor and service jobs, but in the end, even against his own will, the was only one job he was greatly qualified at. Combat.

What do i like about this character: I am relatively new to aurora (started playing i think december of 2022) and i have only one character, that being Iosif, and generaly layed back cargo tech.
ive not only had a great interest in the tajra for some time but also in playing a more "serious" character, i say serious in quotes because, even tho Boris has his deamons and is definetly trying to deal with them in his now new life, he still tried his best to be chill, collective and competent. I dont want to make a hobo-vet that is debilitated by the horrors he saw, but more of a broken guy and is trying his best to fight his demons and also try to connect to others more.
But also because i love the "Broken Badass" trope soo yeah im going with it

How would you describe your roleplaying skills: gonna be honest, im a average to maybe above-average roleplayer, my biggest skills id say is improv and and going with it most interactions im given
the "Yes And" type of roleplaying.

THIS IS THE END
id like to thank the Aurora staff and Comunity for being soo welcoming
Best of luck to all of ya

Hey! It's nice to see another Tajaran whitelist, and the foundation of the character, an orphaned street urchin finding a way through life, is quite an interesting one that I haven't seen before. I do have some questions, though.

  1. You list under the species color question that Boris is grey with black spots. The color range for M'sai is different shades of white. Is Boris a M'sai-Zhan mix?
  2. You mention Alexei's death was "due to the workings of law". Could you expand on what you meant by workings of law? How did Alexei's death affect Boris?
  3. What is Boris's view on the war as a whole?
  4. The DPRA is known for being xenophobic and closed off to the mega-corps. How did Boris go about seeking employment with a mega-corp, and which mega-corp? Was it hard due to his relative lack of education?
  5. You mention that Boris wasn't effective at hard-labor or service jobs and is forced to take a combat job. I assume this means security, so how does he feel about this this?
  6. What are Boris's view on each nation (PRA, DPRA, NKA)?
  7. What religion does Boris follow?

I'm excited to see where this goes and what your answer are.

Thanks! i spent some times to this character. Wanted to flash out a pit more but i was kinda rushing it, to answer the questions

1. I will say this is a mistake on my part. Since i thought some black spots were ok in M'Sai species until taking a quick look at the wiki, i will update his color to something more believable for M'Sai
2.This was also a grammar mistake i have not noticed, i meant to say "due to the workings of war", to expand on it more. During a scouting mission in the mountains, Boris and Alexsei came across what they tought was an abandoned camp, soo much that they even spent the night there while waiting for the rest of the battalion, while packing up to go back, Alexsei stepped in a unexploded artilery shell and lost one of his legs, he survived only an hour before bleeding out, Alexsei was one of the few people that actually cared for Boris, even on the battlefield. His death was the breaking point that caused Boris to shoot his commander and deffect to the DPRA
3. although most tajara probably see war as this glorious undertaking, Boris was there from the beggining to end, this made him very good at fighting as expected but at the cost of both his youth, mental and physical health and of course, his best friend, he saw the things both the PRA did and the NKA and came to despise the prospect of war, whatever the cause may be, when he deffected to the DPRA, he was glad when the power of the Juntas where broken and the civilian goverment took over
4. Boris from a young age never subscribed to hateful ideas such as the Cast System or the bad faith against the Zhan-Khazan, soo id imagine he also wouldnt be big on the hole xenophobia thing, His liking of the DPRA is more for its attempted democratic and reasonable ideals, to put in best he is a Moderate Al'mariist, as to why he seeked employement with a mega-corp, it was more out of nesscecity then a "wanting" to work for them, and yes, it took a few more years out of boris to get into the mega-corp, he may be able to read and write Siik'Mass just fine, but Basic was probably very hard for him to learn, also Idris Inc.
5. Boris, took security jobs as the best next thing, he was kinda good a laboring due to physicar strengh, horrible at service cause... well i think its obvious why, and the one thing his contractors saw he truely exeled at was fighting, Boris tries his best to go along with it because he needs this job and also sees it as a good way to maybe distract himself/get over his trauma, internaly, he is screaming
6. Boris views the PRA as id say most DPRA menbers see them, a nation that although at one point tried to follow the example of Al'mariis is now distancing itself from it and becoming the stalinist russia super dystopia most people think it is, the DPRA is tricky, he at first deffected to them out of lack of choise, since he couldnt go back to the Peoples Republic and the thought of going over to the New Kingdom made him shutter, the DPRA was the best option, after he spent some time there he quickly subscribed with many-a ideal that connected with him, since both he and Alexsei really werent that big into the Hadii'sm in the first place. And the NKA, altough he saw really awfull things done against them in the war and definetly sympatizes with the commoners and the minor nobles, he is DEFINETLY, the most agressive with the NKA, seeing as he was a very poor orphan kid, he is generally anoyed and disgusted at the general poumpous pricks that are common in the NKA
7. Boris is agnostic/atheist, he did'nt have time for the twin suns seeing as he was busy fighting other kids for food in his teenage years.
