Maintenance drones require too much access

Maintenance drones require CE level, or full engineering level access to shut down, reboot, with an ID card and high level access to access the "Maintenance Drone Control" console.

The maintenance drone control console does 4 things
You can instruct drones to investigate a location
You can resync drones to their current laws (This is bypassed if they are emagged, so it effectively does absolutely nothing, as drones cant get ion laws)
You can shut down drones remotely (This is bypassed if they are emagged)
You can turn off a drone fabricator if the console is within sight of it (No, you cannot turn it off from across the zlevel)

I'm sure investigators love it when a drone ignores security tape and walks in cleaning up a crime scene without being able to do anything about it except shoot or beat the drone to death with a maglight, this would allow investigators, or really anybody to simply swipe their card over a drone to turn it off, and swipe over it again to turn it back on. I think the only drone that should be access locked is the matriarch drone, which realistically would have higher access requirements to disable or interact with, as it would be more valuable than dime a dozen robots

These are costless ghost roles, they don't need to be protected behind command level access
They should be protected by something like maintenance access instead, rather than drone fabricator / ce, whatever it is they have now

I didnt even say what the access should be, whoops 💀

They only require regular engineering-level access. We honestly could probably expand this to atmos techs and machinists honestly.

This is a violation of their laws and should be ahelped. Drones are not supposed to be harming the crew (that violates the third law). The ability to ID-swipe drones does not solve this issue, as the damage would already be done.

Didn't realize this, the roboticist swiped  me once and it didnt work so I just assumed it had to be engineering or above level access, and figured the actual console was locked. I think that swiping the drones should be access locked to this then, yes, but the console should probably be heavily relaxed.

I say heavily relaxed in a completely biased manner, because as a maintenance drone, I regularly place new drone control consoles in engineering, the bridge, and the mechanist workshop, but its sad that ones on the bridge and mechanist cant be used because they are access locked now that I realized it.

Didnt realize this was ahelpable, I usually just abide by security tape or general investigators in the area and don't clean up anything, good to know

If a maintenance drone interferes in a round detrimentally for either the antags or crew, I am pretty sure it is ahelpable. The text for the role pretty clearly outlines the intent when it is activated.
