Noble Row Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 BYOND Key: Noble Row Character Names: Broadsword Eliza Trin Castile Auk'lin Vihnmes Xavier Vance Species you are applying to play: Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Calico M'Sai Silver (RGB 192, 192, 192 / Hex #c0c0c0) Njarir'Akhran Ruddy (RGB 138, 54, 15 / Hex #8a360f) Spots Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have read many lore pages for Tajara. I just hope I'm not mixing anything up. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Going to be honest, inspiration initially came from seeing the pinned post in the Tajara lore general channel that detailed the fashion habits of each Tajaran faction. I am a large fan of the 1920's era style and for some reason style motivates me. Delving in to their lore, I continued to find myself enjoying my decision, the Russian Revolution themes to their history combined with a delve in to the kingdom-esq nature of their past piqued my interest. The combination of all these factors had me forming the idea for a journalist character, a real journalist, not the antag mains you see 90% of the time in the role. And what makes a journalist from Adhomai so interesting if the threat of political opposition and the possibility of looking over your shoulder for secret police. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: To play a living Tajara is to play a character who has known war. Has seen its effects. And seen devastating loss. While humanity is vast, advanced, and spans the stars, many do not see tragedy to which Tajarans, limited to their home, have seen in the past one hundred years. To be Tajaran is to know ideologies who often care little for your individual existence, to be plagued by surveillance, secret police, false promises, and uncaring nobles with little solace or escape from such practices. Every Tajaran has known war, seen death, and that is just the recent history. The biological differences from humanity more obvious, of course with the feline body structure, but with how they interact with each other as well. Tajara are commonly more reserved culturally, despite being able to be more emotive with their body via whiskers, ears, tail and the like, their culture demands a more conservative outlook in interaction. This amounts in less displays of affection, a more apt professionalism, and a unified approach to problems where as humanity has spread far enough to have more varied approaches. Character Name: Miiryn Al’Quadrinova Please provide a short backstory for this character Miiryn was born a calico M'Sai/Njarir'Akhran to a single religious M'Sai mother in the year 2443. Her earlier years were mundane, being partially raised by her grandparents while her mother worked and taught the ways of S'rand'marr Worship through enrollment in a local church's attached school. Due to her mother's dedication to such faith, Miiryn found her childhood filled with the teachings of the suns, and a keen understanding of Life and Death that will carry her forward to the atrocities that awaited her in the Second Revolution. At the age of eight, in the opening year of the Second Revolution, Miiryn's mother enlisted in the ranks of the Adhomian Liberation Army, leaving Miiryn to be raised by her grandparents as they became refugees heading to Shastar. By the end of the year, an artillery barrage turned Miiryn in to an orphan, and with no father to claim her, was formally adopted by the grandparents who were already raising her. Two years passed, living in makeshift homes of refugee slums, grieving the death of her mother, when a glimmer of fortune smiled to the family. Upon being registered as refugees, a mysterious benefactor in way of a courier attempted to sway the trio to come to the forming New Kingdom of Adhomai with Miiryn's grandfather staunchly declining the request in representation of the family. However, they soon after the departure of the courier, cash payments and orders to move to nicer lodging were directed to ten year old Miiyrn herself, and with the money came a condition: That the money would be used for Miiryn's education and the quality of life required for a lady of her caliber. Her developing years were then spent with homeschooling and private tutors, living a semi-enforced sheltered life as her conflicted grandfather tried to hide any possible exposure of her unseen wealth. Here she learned Tau Ceti Basic and a thorough general education, as well as a love for instruments foreign and domestic, with a specific love in the alien "Violin". Her tutors at this stage were her closest friends and mentors, giving her a mature and level-headed nature that helped her power through the atrocities outside her doorstep, with the isolation from much of the outside world making her a quiet and awkward child that opened up enthusiastically to those she trusted. The war itself made her afraid of strangers, people especially foreign, though as she grew, matured with the more legitimate formation of the civilian DPRA, she understood what her mother died fighting for. She saw the world forming around her, with the terror and lack of privacy under the Tajara of the PRA, and the pompous nobles bringing back old monarchist rule in the NKA, Miiryn held an appreciation for what she had. An understanding of why her mother did what she did. While she was too young to understand the politics at the time, her quiet teenage years brought a solemn understanding of the death around her, why each side fought not for the liberty, but the security, that each faction promised. With Tajara being elevated to higher technologies by alien powers, she knew most importantly why everyone was afraid. At the age of 17 Miiryn started higher education testing in to an offshoot of the Trizar State Medical Academy located in Shastar. While not having the same facilities as the full academy in Trizar proper, Miiryn was proud of her acceptance, starting the pursuit of a medical degree. Her exposure to the university letting her timid mind grow livelier as she earned more friends and opened up to her fellow students. So much so as by the age of 19, the Second Revolution was coming to a close, and with her in attendance with her friends, Miiryn was proud to take part in the rallies and celebrations that happened in the wake of the Armistice of Shastar. From 19 until present Miiryn embraced a more extraverted lifestyle, still maintaining her maturity, but finding herself attending nightlife events. Spending weeks at a time during vacations from university in Crevus. Involving herself parties, the extranet, and acquainting herself with knowledge of what lies beyond Adhomai. Here she started a small following on social media channels, sharing her reactions and commentary on xeno media, Venusian movies, and Tau Ceti video games, eventually writing articles and blog posts under the pseudonym "@MirrorMiira" to reflect on how she used to be shy and timid, but is growing more content with her life outside of her room. Her wanderlust eventually grew too great, saying farewell to her grandparents, and arranging to continue her education remotely through IAC medical education before taking to the stars as an aspiring journalist to whatever ship will ferry her. Little did she know, some unknown strings pulled her to a safer location aboard a SCC research vessel, promising adventure to her heart. What do you like about this character? Miiyrn is inspired by the fashion, as I've detailed before, but also a book I was forced to read in Highschool called Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, where the main character is funded to become a gentleman by a mysterious benefactor since he was a young boy. The difference here being that Miiyrn has not been tempted in to becoming a noble lady, as the main character in Great Expectations expects nobility thrust upon him. Miiyrn instead is affected by the events of the Second Revolution coincided with the hidden wealth to try to appreciate the life she has. Her demeanor introverted with outbursts of extroversion. Where she enjoys to learn about life both quietly and loudly. She wants to do the best she can with the life she has after seeing so much death and destruction of her own people in the Second Revolution. To this end I love this character I created. Even her budding job as a journalist is a declaration of her curiosity to the world around her. She wants to learn and share to others what she has learned, in an excitable sort of way. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I've been doing it for a while so I hope I am at least decent. I always try my best to make the role-play experience better for people I come across in an attempt to make good memories, and good rounds for my fellow players. Notes: Like many lore sections, Tajaran lore is vast. I did my best to try to tie everything I wanted to tie in a concise way, but I may have misunderstood or not gone in to enough detail on some topics. If anything is wrong, point me in the right direction and I will get it amended. If anything needs to be added, let me know, and I will write more! Thank you for reading, and hope you have a nice day! 1

Rookie Eyes Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Eliza Trin, and Broadsword, are both some of my favorite characters to see on shift, and I'm sure Noble will keep that quality playing a Tajaran. +1 1
Alberyk Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 Just a tiny detail: properly calico fur color is meant for Hharar, however mixed Tajara can have a mix of the colors with patterns of their parents, so it is fine. Besides that, I do not have anything else to add. Application accepted. 1
