Outboarduniform
BYOND key: Outboarduniform Discord Username: Outboarduniform#4234 Character names: Kallik Eegeesiak How long have you been playing on Aurora? Since roughly late 2015 Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes. I had a discord ban a few months ago that I appealed and then previous administrative actions a couple years ago, some also involving discord, but the most notable being the one where I lost my original command whitelist. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? The OOC purpose of a Head of Staff! In my opinion, it is to facilitate roleplay. It is an absolutely massive spectrum that encompasses many situational areas from interactions with antagonists, interactions with crewmembers, personal interactions with crewmembers, and from my personal experience, can either make someone's day or completely ruin it when misused. Additionally to facilitating roleplay the Head of Staff also offers it's position as a mentor, especially in the departments that require a lot of in depth knowledge of mechanics and procedures that are not so obvious to newer players, most noticeably in Engineering or Medical. A Head of Staff is typically a senior player who's been around the block long enough to be proficient and efficient in their craft, and to know the ins and outs of what it is that they're doing and what the other roles in their department should be/are also doing. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? This is the biggest failing of mine when I was previously whitelisted years ago. The OOC responsibilities of whitelisted players may vary based on the role of the character, such as Head of Security, or XO, etc. Ultimately, however, it can be broken down into what I mentioned in the last question. To facilitate roleplay. Last time I was whitelisted I made some absolutely gooftastic decisions and I can retrospectively look at the way I behaved in an IC and even in an OOC manner and see how it soured many people's experiences while playing onboard the Aurora, and it is important to recognize how much sway even a relatively minor command role can have on the unfolding of an entire round. There are many times where your decisions will be scrutinized and you have to have the capability to be able to comprehend the OOC and IC expectations of your character and your gameplay/roleplay, and be able to adjust accordingly and be able to provide what is necessary to your role. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Currently the only character I play right now is Kallik Eegeesiak, outside of the one I'm currently cooking up for the command whitelist, and I must admit that pretty much all of the events in the spur recently have not particularly changed my character. Kallik is ignorant of a lot of foreign politics, and deliberately ignores them unless brought up to him in person, since he is zeroed in and focused on his job and his performance at work, as his livelihood depends on the good graces of Zavodskoi Interstellar. As for his employment aboard the SCCV Horizon, Kallik worked for two years with Zavodskoi Interstellar in 'The Barrows', the massive ice sheet that dominates the Southern Lyod. He worked security for the mining operations down there, while also learning TCB, and eventually became proficient in it. Being considered a model 'reformed Lyodii', taking the Mo'ri'zal and with his previous service in the Lyodic Rifles, Zavodskoi Interstellar was magnanimous enough to 'ask' if he wished to transfer to a more lucrative posting, and then hooked him up with a mundane job as a security officer onboard the SCCV Horizon! What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Executive Officer. Consular (Eventually). I might dip into others but only once I'm very comfortable with them. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Caishen Yan - Executive Officer. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? Yes Extra notes: None at this time. Feel free to ask questions. 2 Link to comment
HanSolo1519
Outboard's been here a bit. Last command whitelisted around 6 years ago, I'd say he would be fully acquainted with what comes with the role. And as for his characters, he roleplays them with enough seriousness that he'd be a fine example for other players to look on, (as compared to LRP goofiness, not that there isn't a time and place for people acting silly.) My only concern is limited mechanical knowledge, but that's easily fixable. It's not like CMO or CE was listed as characters he was interested in, it would be nice to see them play more in medical and engineering if that ever does happen though.
